The rest of the building is for the host's own use, with dogs and chickens strutting around on their side of the yard. In the yard there is room to stay and, for example, barbecue. It is also good for families with children.

Between fishes – our house on the lake in Finland

Our piece of land is located on Kaita Järvi– an about 8 km long and a few hundred meter wide lake – it is a small peninsula that looks to the south. That means: sun from morning to evening (if it shines). There right on the shore you find our log cabin, with sauna, bathroom, living room with open kitchen and two small bedrooms. A few meters next to it is a studio like guesthouse, the "Aita". It is also very cosy and comfortable, but provides no own bathroom. Village Savonranta is 5 km away.

Experience the true traditional Finnish lake cottage life. This log cottage was built in the 1800's with hand carved logs. It is located on a beautiful lake shore with fantastic views. Here you can enjoy nature and total silence and peace just a 10 min. car drive from Savonlinna centre. You have a good chance of spotting the endangered Saimaa ring seal, often swimming in front of the cottage. Both the cottage and the sauna are just a few meters from the lake shore. Good 4G connection!

The compact house has a fold-out sofa downstairs and two beds upstairs. A spacious sauna is a joy to relax in and has washing amenities. A large terrace has a barbecue grill and a dining table, where you can enjoy stunning views of the lake while enjoying your food. The outhouse is situated next to the main building.

Rananiemi is a fully equipped cottage on a lake bank facing the south. The cottage, built in 2002, is surrounded by pine moor and rocks. The immediate surroundings of the cottage are partly lawn, partly undisturbed nature. The terrace and the combined kitchen/livingroom have a view to the slope declining towards the lake. The yard on the other side of the cottage is flat. The neighbouring waters are sheltered and well suitable for paddling or other water activities.

A cozy cottage between pines and the lake just in 2 steps from Saimaa. It is quite small inside (30 square meters) with a big open terrace and a green lawn in front of it. There are a Loft bed for 2 people with a view, a small kitchen, fireplace, sauna on woods inside the cabin. It is great to start your day from early swimming and yoga/breakfast at the terrace listening to birds songs and finish your day with a glass of wine taking pictures of a stunning sunset.

Amazing place with great history. The farm tour was an excellent extra service, the daughter could marvel at sheep, dogs, peacocks, horses, cats, and ponies. There was no way to the lakeside sauna, but the indoor sauna was a happy surprise and used diligently. The surroundings offer excellent jogging terrain.

A group of chickens, displaying various colors and fluffy feathers, are seen in a fenced area with gravel ground. The birds are actively positioned, showcasing their distinct silhouettes and plumage textures.

Thank you so much for this experience! The stay was a really functional ensemble, and the pool table was a delight inside. All of our children are so excited about all the animals that could be admired, fed (sheep with dandelion leaves), and paying - great that one of our kids with the farm hostess themselves got to share their dream of farm life. The spouse was also able to enjoy the steam from the wood sauna in peace. Lovely, beautiful countryside setting. Nice things to do for the kids in the yard, too. Everything worked well and we can definitely recommend to others!

Kaisa's cabin near Juva is robust, well designed, and cheerful. It's also very close to the water. The lake is a dream to swim in, we were all alone in the water, and while there are some neighbors on both sides, they are sufficiently far away to feel that the space is private. It was easy to find the place, due to good instructions and clear signs on the roads. And Kaisa is an excellent communicator, spelling out very clearly what makes Finnish summer cabins special (no running water, for example), what to expect, and what to bring along. We enjoyed walking around Juva too. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful time at Maarit's! The lakeside location was fantastic, the cottage contained everything you need for the time at a Finnish lake and Maarit was extremely friendly, gave us tips for the area and even helped us when we had problems with the rental car. Thank you for everything!
