Our neighborhood abuts the Peterson Nature Preserve and our home can be rented with (if available) one/both of our adjacent two bedroom homes (a fence with a gate separates the homes) if more space is desired. Downtown Saugatuck is a short walk away and Douglas and Oval Beach are easy drives. Enjoy all of the amenities provided indoors and outdoors. All "A Step Away" guests receive a discount when shopping our local store during their stay. Lastly, we're dog friendly (w/approval & fee).

Our stay was perfectly quaint and peaceful get away for a birthday weekend. The cottage was off the road and even with the owners next door it felt very secluded. Everything was how it was pictured, the only thing that was missing was not much counter/table space to sit and eat somewhere inside (but there are TV trays in the nightstand!) or much space to store belongings. The screened is porch was a such a beautiful plus and wonderful place to hangout when we were there as well as enjoying a nice soak in the clawfoot tub but watch when showering to not get water on the floor, it can be a little tricky. Other than that the TV was a bit small l if you're trying to watch from the couch but we weren't really there for that. All in all, loved the vibe and feeling of the place, 10/10 will stay again and would highly recommend.

This place was absolutely amazing, can 100% recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Saugatuck. Everything was clean, new, and beautiful in the apartment. There was even a cheese plate and some other treats left for us in the fridge by Mark, which we did not expect and were perfect after a long day of traveling. You can't beat the location, truly, we just parked the car and walked to everything. We hope to return to town and if we do, will absolutely stay here again.

Mark’s little cabin is perfect for a Romantic getaway. Close to Saugatuk/Douglas and Holland, it’s really a perfect spot. Close to the highway makes little day trips very easy. The property was clean and inviting, the surrounds woods stunning and really made you feel like you were in a treehouse. The cabin is small, but it’s just right for two people. Would absolutely go again our next trip to Michigan!

Jill absolutely exceeded expectations as a host. She was extremely responsive and accommodating to my laundry list of questions as the maid of honor planning her best friend's bachelorette party. She went above and beyond to help me find a place for boat renting outside of the typical rentals you can easily find from a Google search. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Chet & Sara were amazing hosts! We loved our stay on their boat for the weekend! The boat itself was clean and the location was PERFECT to walk everywhere in town and to the beach. They were both so friendly and had great recommendations for things to do in the area!!

Wonderful location and a beautiful home. We felt at home and it was perfect for what we needed. Very close to downtown and we loved the restaurant recommendation they gave us.
