Self contained farmstay in Catlins/Rural Retreat

LynneRating, 5 stars4 months ago
Peaceful and perfectly outfitted ! Such a beautiful little cabin, thoughtfully designed, homely and with everything you need. Ella is a great communicator; responsive and friendly. Guy showed us a walk to the top of their property, with wonderful views. Being a working farm and attached to the host property and shed, you can see the operation, which is interesting and sometimes busy, but very quiet at night. A close drive to the Caitlin attractions. Eat at your table by the expansive view, read by the log burner and sleep in the most comfortable bed with natural bedding. Really lovely- we will be back!

The Church House- Boutique Comfort

Tucked away on the outskirts of Clutha - highly recommend a stay. Would have to be the best option when looking for a base in the area. I was travelling for work and the internet was perfect, lots of space, thoughtful touches, and handy to town. You won’t regret a stay here.

Helensbrook Studio- On the Clutha Gold Cycle Trail

If you are planning to travel beyond Dunedin and looking for a place near to airport 20min drive it’s a good place. There is a 4square near to her home as well as some food shops. Internet is a bit weak but Lisa already informed us. we had a good reception on 2 degrees so we used our own internet. It’s a very insulated room so you need to leave your doors/ windows open for some time to cool it down during hot season. We loved it and would like to stay there again. You could also see a lot of rabbits and sheep around the farm. It’s such a beautiful place if you need peace from the crowd.

Ever stayed in an award winning glasshouse?

BethRating, 5 stars1 month ago
During our full-time travels we tend to seek out lodging that is unique, and the old converted Sunday school hall/now glasshouse was just that! Tessa is an exceptional host. We spent a wonderful evening with her learning about the transformation of this beautiful space. Furnishings are stylish and very comfortable. Location is in a quiet residential neighborhood, just a 5-10 minute drive to the St. Clair beach area, downtown Dunedin or the start of the scenic Otago Peninsula drive.
A view from inside the apartment showcases a deck with a serene ocean backdrop. The expansive glass doors frame a glimpse of greenery and the ocean beyond, creating a connection between indoor comfort and the natural landscape.

The is an awesome little place, would be recommending to friends and family. Quick access to the dog friendly beach so great to have our pooch with us. Outside seating area was private and appreciated being protected from the wind. The place had everything you could need and more.

A cabin on top of a hill that feels very homie, with an absolutely stunning view. The host, Fiona, is very friendly and offers warm hospitality—truly caring and attentive. In the morning, you can join Fiona as she feeds her two horses Billie and Caddy, while playing with Maximus the white cat, and her two dogs, Banjo and Coco. Thank you, Super Host Fiona!
