Pet-friendly vacation rentals in James City

This is a great place to stay and relax. Tim was very responsive and proactive. We were checking in the day after a bad snow storm and he contacted us right away to let us know how the roads were and what to expect. Since it was snowy and cold, we did not get to use the amenities. But the house is located right next to the kayak launch area and it was a very short drive to the pool/club house. We come to this area often and will definitely be staying here again!

Our stay was so wonderful I need more stars. In town for my father’s memorial service, Megan’s home was the perfect blend of cozy warmth and spaciousness for our immediate family of five adults, and became the hub of extended family meals. For which reason the easy functionality of the kitchen is of note - it is well equipped and three of us could work in it at once without feeling like we were running from pillar to post. It’s an easy hop, skip and a jump from river serenity into historic New Bern and its restaurants, nightlife, and blocks and blocks of lovely old homes to walk and explore, and the highway out to the beaches. Megan is a kind and generous host who I hope to meet on a less busy future visit. We hope to make Breathe Inn (so well named!) our home away when in New Bern.

The house was just as described. Beds and furniture were comfortable. Kitchen was well-equipped for the most part. We did find that silverware ran out long before the dishes and needed to be washed before anything else, but not a big deal. Beautiful view of the beach and ocean. We felt very much at home. We enjoyed out stay!

Paul was an excellent host! The house is so cute, super clean, excellent location, conveniently located near beach access points, restaurants and the reason we were there - the Big Rock Tournament!!! Such a beautiful area. We loved the fenced backyard for our Yorkies and the driveway being on 20th, not on busy Arendell. 5 ⭐️ s!!!

This home was one of our best stays ever. The house was beautiful and very well appointed! I appreciated the labels on the kitchen cabinets as it made everything easy to find. And the labels on the light switches helped as well! We cooked in and found everything we needed in the kitchen plus we enjoyed being able to grill. And the snack basket was a nice touch! The house was immaculate and very well cared for. We enjoyed hangout there when we weren’t out exploring. It was an easy drive to downtown New Bern. And the property and neighborhood were great for our dog. Jacqueline was friendly and proactive and we could not have asked for a better host. We would highly recommend this home and would definitely return. All around great stay!

Loved the location. I wasn't sure about everyone in our group liking being so close to the "hubbub", but that ended up being what something we really liked about the place. Lots of things to do that are walkable. Shops, restaurants, bars, coffee houses, a beautiful walkway along the intracoastal waterway, a kids playground... And the view can't be beat! Well stocked kitchen- like truly everything you could possibly need. Lots of seating on the deck. All the things! Mom was over the moon about her 90th birthday celebration.

We had the best beach vacation at Kristin’s place. The house was just as described and very well stocked with just about everything we needed for a great stay. The kitchen was one of best for folks like us who cook most meals - plenty of pots and pans, utensils, and lots of dishes. Beds were all super comfy. And the use of the beach towels, chairs, sun shades and toys were WONDERFUL saving us precious packing space in the car. Kristin was very helpful with all my questions. 10 out of 10! Next time we are headed to the beach, this is the first place I will try to book. Thank you!

We had a wonderful stay! The property was peaceful and private with a beautiful view right next to the canal. My kids especially had a blast fishing off the dock — it quickly became their favorite part of the trip. The setting was perfect for relaxing and spending quality time together. We would definitely love to come back!

This place is very well appointed - anything you might need was there! It's a lovely space, nicely decorated in an oceanside theme, spotlessly clean, with comfortable furniture and a comfortable bed. The owner offered access to a nearby recreation center, and we would have loved to but it was very much a working weekend for us and we did not have time to take advantage of that. There's plenty of parking available and getting in was quick and easy. Highly recommended and would rent again next time we need a place in the area!

Our Children are sailors and this place was a perfect fit that was better than described. The personal touches and amenities for our family will have us back on the next trip. We have a child at Camp Seagull and this made our drop off seamless while being able to check out the local community within close walking distance. Community was super friendly and Lisa was an amazing host! We’ll be back!

My family & I had a great stay, beautiful home with everything we needed. Dawn was very responsive and helpful. We saw lots of deer and squirrels, moon over the river was beautiful. A great retreat after beach days and running around New Bern.

Great place to stay, quick walk to the beach. Clean rooms, spacious, perfect for families with kids. Has a wagon, beach chairs and toys which is awesome. Bring your own toiletries (soap, shampoo, lotion), we did not know those are not provided.

The condo was the perfect vacation spot for a couple and our 3 kids. Love the upstairs space & decor. Pool and beach were walking distance. The beach was clean. The area was not overly crowded. Private entrance, safe. Would recommend for a family! Chris was also very responsive & helpful. Thanks for a great family vacation!

We were very comfortable in this well thought-out compact condo. Had everything we needed and more! The location was great for restaurant options and stores, plus not far to go for Fort Macon and Beaufort, both great places to visit. But above all, the access to the beach from the property was excellent, and the beach was very nice at this location. Wish I was still there walking in the waves! Linda was a good communicator even though we didn't meet. I would definitely stay here again if returning to the area. Thank you for a wonderful visit!

Adorable,tiny apartment. check-in and check-out were simple. The apartment was clean and well stocked with toiletries, towels, wash cloths and blankets. We were very cozy and enjoyed our stay. we would definitely rent it again.

A unique property, spotlessly clean, in a lovely location. Hannah is a great host and makes the process super easy. Looking forward to another visit.

As many other guests have already said... this property goes beyond the descriptions. In contrast to so many AirBnbs, the decor at the loft was tasteful, authentic, and stylish. When you venture downstairs to the Manifest store, you will understand how/why! The loft is right downtown, so you can roam around and easily stop back in if you need to drop anything off, pick anything up, or just rest. We used the space to work from during one of our days, and it was lovely to be able to pop out for a quick bite and then continue with the day. We got great recommendations from the host -- all the spots to be sure to catch and the inside scoop on the what and who of Washington. About the space itself: the bed was incredibly comfortable, and so were the couches for just relaxing and reading. If you are considering other spots in Washington, don't. Just book this and you'll be very glad you did!

Our stay has been great! We needed to be close by base for the SunDown Event on Cherry Point. We absolutely loved the cleanliness and the space it provided for us. Brian was very responsive when it came to our arrival and understanding of our long travel from Florida. Look forward to booking there again soon!

Wow! We loved this lil Airbnb just as much as all the other guests! The views are amazing and we saw baby dolphin and rays and caught a variety of fish from the dock.Lots of activity in this waterway! Ie.Jumping fish. This is such a beautiful spot for a weekend getaway!!! We have already booked a return trip! Cheryl has outdone herself!

This is a peaceful, beautiful and relaxing home and location. We much appreciate the opportunity to stay here to fish and relax right in the backyard. Our dog enjoyed the vacation as well since there is a fenced in yard with a deck overlooking the back yard. The home is clean and comfortable. Lots of outdoor and indoor areas to spread out and relax. We also visited the towns of Bath and Belhaven. Thank you for your hospitality.

It was very cozy, home like. The beds were comfortable with quality linens and it had a washer and dryer. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, dishes and cookware. And the screened in porch was heaven. Sat out there every day!! Very peaceful. I would definitely stay there again!
