Pet Friendly Devon Cottage nr Okehampton, Dartmoor

SultanaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
As soon as we entered Nicky's place, we felt at peace. The cottage was spacious, beautifully done, spotlessly clean and well equipped. We had very changeable weather during our week's stay but the cottage was warm and comfortable despite the torrential downpours outside. The games provided, especially the 1000 piece jigsaw, which kept us occupied in the evenings! We have visited Devon, and especially Dartmoor, several times, but this was the first time in this area. It was a real pleasure being able to visit some of the lesser known Tors when the weather allowed. Castle Drogo was a great day out, as was the Round Robin day excursion on Dart railway. Dartmouth was a lovely place to visit, and the cruise was a lovely way to see some history and sights. Despite living very close by, we did not see Nicky except upon arrival but it was good to know she was on hand if needed. She was very friendly and quick to respond. We would love to return in future.

17thC Barn in a Vineyard

This was a much needed break for my wife and I. This part of Devon is stunning Knowstone is gorgeous. Debbie and her husband were welcoming and helpful. I look forward to the first vintage from their fledgling vineyard. The Michelin starred Mason's Arms was a joy for our evening meal. Get to that pub while you can as they are looking for a buyer. All highly recommended.

Farm stay in Rural North Devon

WillRating, 5 stars9 months ago
My partner and I had a great weekend away at the Moonacre Farm! We arrived quite late, but was greeted by Alison who was lovely. She had set up the lodge perfectly, with fairly lights lit and all the amenities described. She provided info on the surrounding area and was amazing to us all weekend. The place was very clean and had one of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept on. In the morning, we woke up and fed the alpacas which was an amazing experience. Whilst staying here, we drove to Tavistock and Totnes which was only an hour away - great location. Perfect if you want a quiet weekend away.

Cornwall Beach House - Panoramic Sea Views

BenjaminRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had a wonderful stay at Talland Cliff side beach house, we stayed for two nights with our two children and Labrador, the property was clean and comfortable and had all the amenities we needed plus a few extra touches that added to our enjoyment, the family games and the hammock were a favourite for the children and sauna was an added luxury for us :) but without a doubt sitting on the decking and watching the sea was the most relaxing and wonderful thing for us to do! The beach is 5 minutes walk down the cliff side not too difficult but the climb back up may take a little longer but absolutely worth it for the trip down to the beach, there are a couple of coastal paths within a couple of miles of the property and a couple of small eateries close by for lunch with a view. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Hawthorn Cottage, Dartmoor

Luke is a fabulous host! Not only is the cottage idyllic, peaceful and charming, but Luke left us some goodies for our arrival. These included a bottle of fizz, some delicious bread and eggs from the chickens he keeps on his small holding. There was loads of good recommendations for walks and activities within the cottage and Luke trod a wonderful balance between giving us our space and being there to offer advice and recommendations. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the cottage to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in the countryside!

Fallows Leap

BaileyRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Patsy was a great host. She was extremely helpful for me and my partner, and she was always quick to respond. She was attentive to detail, i.e marshmallows for toasting, little chocolates for Easter, breakfast hamper, and a cocktail making kit with free drinks. Over all, Fallows Leap was a great place to stay for a relaxing weekend and Patsy was a wonderful host. Would definitely stay here again. One thing I will add is that the bed was very comfortable, although if you’re tall, you won’t be able to stretch out properly. One person could lay comfortably if lay diagonally but if you’re with someone and you’re both tall you may struggle. Everything else was perfect 👌🏻

Barrel Top Wagon, The Glade, Bondleigh

LianeRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
This is our 5th time staying at The Glade. Myself, my son and our pooch love it there. Its so private, quiet and i love to sit amongst the wildlife and bird watch. A nice walk in the woods right beside the hut or just a chilled swing in the hammock. It is our favourite place to unwind. I love how everytime we visit the surroundings look different with the ever changing wildlife. It is as beautiful in winter and rain as it is in the sun and summer. Autumn has to be my favourite. Juliet is a lovely host and is not intrusive in the slightest. However she is very responsive if you need anything. We had a lovely chat this time whilst i was sat bird watching and she told me about a few birds she had seen. What can i say if you need to unwind then this is the place. Comfortable, quiet, homely and warm.
