Family-friendly vacation rentals in IJsselmeer

Fred and Kelly’s place is absolutely wonderful. We stayed because the price was better and there was a little more room than many places directly in the city. Though we looked forward to it, we didn’t expect to fall in love with it…and we did! Staying outside of the city is pretty great. It’s a 10ish minute walk to the train station, and then an easy navigation to wherever you need to go. We didn’t mind the “commute” a bit, and it was nice to start off and wind down in a quieter setting. The place itself is well kept, clean, and cozy. The beds were comfortable and the shower was hot with good pressure. We enjoyed casting Netflix on the TV with the fireplace on in the evenings, and we spent a couple of mornings in the garden. We booked this spot our entire stay, but also spent one night in Amsterdam to experience “city life,” and also spent one night in Utrecht. These were perfect additions to our home base plan. I’d definitely stay here again!

We stayed in the apartment for a weekend and felt very comfortable. With the bikes you could easily reach the nearby metro station and we had a good time in Amsterdam. The landlords were very friendly and always easily accessible. I highly recommend this place for Amsterdam stays.

We enjoyed our stay in the tiny house very much! Great for families, with beautiful nature and walking paths starting at your doorstep.

We spent 4 nights at this place, and absolutely loved it! The location is in the country along a canal. We enjoyed the peace and quiet. What a gem! I highly recommended this place to others!

Had a great weekend. Enjoyed the nice garden with various seats and of course the wellness. Cottage really has all the comforts and the bed was very comfortable. Beautiful quiet area and a 20-30 minute drive from various nice cities. Joop and Thea are very friendly and are there for you immediately. In short, highly recommended!

Had a very nice stay. Clean house and all necessities were present, great! Furthermore, beautiful garden with nice trampoline and we enjoyed the hot tub, which is also wonderful with rain. All I would have liked to know in advance is that the garden is directly adjacent to the family's garden. This made it feel a little less private. Fortunately, he was very friendly, so that was fine. Furthermore, Hari was friendly and responsive, so that was nice too. Many thanks to Hari and the rest of the family!

What a fun experience! And what a terrific host! In a beautiful, quiet neighborhood. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. To say we got to stay on a houseboat in Amsterdam is always going to be a fun memory! But note, it is definitely a boat. You must be fully able bodied to access the boat and get around comfortably inside. The kitchen is suitable for snacks. And as with most European AirBnBs, bring your own bath products.

Absolutely Wonderful Stay at the Farm with Patries and Mike! We had the most amazing time staying at Patries and Mike’s farm. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely welcomed and at home. Patries and Mike are truly exceptional hosts – warm, generous, and full of heart. You can feel how much love and care they put into their place and into every guest they welcome. The farm itself is a little slice of paradise. Surrounded by nature, animals, and peace, it’s the perfect spot to unwind, slow down, and reconnect with what really matters. We loved waking up to the sounds of birds – and especially the proud rooster announcing each new day with great enthusiasm! There’s a real sense of authenticity and warmth here that’s hard to put into words – you simply have to experience it. Thank you, Patries and Mike, for opening your hearts and your home to us. We left with full hearts, new inspiration, and the feeling that we had just spent time with old friends. We can’t wait to come back!

Mrs. Trienie's hospitality was like a dream. She greeted us very nicely, showed us around the cottage and offered various attractions. We are very grateful for such hospitality and kindness. The area is beautiful - full of greenery, rural animals only complemented this wonderful landscape. The cottage is very cozy and clean. The place had everything we needed for everyday functioning. We are enchanted by everything we have seen in the area and we will definitely return for, I hope, a longer stay. Thank you!

We had a very relaxing 5 nights. Kees and Karen were impeccable hosts, laidback and always helpful. We didn't come by car, but it's easy to get into Utrecht either by bus or tram. Would definitely book again.

Wow! What an amazing week at 't Vaerkenskot! A beautifully renovated and restored pig barn! You can see it was a labour of love for Lukkie and Lambertus. What an amazing job they have done. The property was set in the gorgeous Zeeland countryside in a small peaceful Hamlet called Dreischor. They welcomed us with open arms and we immediately felt at home. Our dog Betsy normally takes time to adjust, but she felt at home instantly, which is a good sign! We felt we had enough privacy, but with the option to bump into our lovely neighbours we would say hello and chat when we wanted. Lambertus and Lukkie gave us great recommendations in the area. The property had all the amenities and was well kept, clean and with the most beautiful gardens! Although it rained (a lot!) during our stay, we kept warm and happy reading and enjoying the peaceful rest. There’s lots of things in area. Beaches and walks, beautiful cafes. We would stay again!! Thank you for having us! ❤️

It was a wonderful stay in a sweet and very cozy accommodation! If we come back to Amsterdam, we definitely want to stay in Astrid's little cozy cottage again! Everything you need is here. There is also a selection of spices, coffee and tea as well as sufficient cooking utensils and dishes. The house was very clean and tastefully cozy. The beds were very comfortable too. Shopping facilities are within walking distance, as is the bus stop with a good connection to Amsterdam. All in all, a five-star-plus accommodation! Thank you for that, Astrid!

Very lovingly and practically furnished apartment. Nothing is missing and everything is very clean and tidy. Behind the house there is a very nice seating area with an open view over the field to Pinjum. The stairs are very steep, as everywhere in Holland, but the sleeping bunk is cozy with a small window and beautiful views. The plants and animals on the grounds invite you to take short walks.

A week of relaxation among the bustle of the birds. In rainy weather, there is plenty of space inside and in nice weather a very pleasant garden to sit in. Nearby, there is plenty to do, shops are close. Everything is available to cook for yourself. Baking pizza in the pizza oven was also fun to do. Definitely recommended. We felt comfortable.

Great place and great hosts. We had a lot of fun and felt comfortable. The accommodation was accessible by boat and we could go shopping by boat. It was a real adventure. The accommodation and the pool were clean. Everything worked out for us ☀️

We had a lovely Pentecost weekend. Annet had hung up garlands and put down a present because we were celebrating my daughter's birthday. There were also cookies and fresh eggs. The cottage is located on a quiet campsite with friendly staff. The beach is nearby, and you can enjoy cycling in the area.

Great location. Walking distance to Cocksdorp. At the edge of the park, therefore a nice view and tranquility. Easily traveled by car. Three bathrooms, so good for groups (in our case three families) and yet privacy and private place.

We enjoyed this beautiful place very much! Everything was perfect, our hosts were very helpful, they always responded to our requests really fast. Location is absolutely stunning, beautiful nature, so peaceful and calm! We recommend this awesome place 100%!

Our first airbnb experience and it couldn't be better. The stay is perfect. Beautiful, spacious, neat, clean and all necessities and more are present. Clear and quick responses to questions. Next year again!

We felt very comfortable in the chalet from the beginning and had a great vacation. The chalet is very appealing and well equipped, so we cooked a lot. The location at the campsite is very good. The communication with Marinus was very straightforward. We also liked very much that we could use the season ticket for the outdoor pool on the campsite and went swimming every morning. Ameland is a beautiful island. We really recommend the chalet.

The cottage is on a small-scale green park, where you can go with your dog. In fact, it was Pentecost weekend and I've never seen so many dogs. All on a leash and only friendly dogs. With a few minutes walk you are in the forest, where - in some places - the dog can also go off the leash. There is also a communal swimming pool that you can use. The cottage is comfortable, the bed is good and also in a nice place where you have no view. Communication with the hostess, Jacq , is perfect. She responds immediately to any question.
