I heard that it was built in the late Edo period and that it was a temple school in the early Meiji period. I liked the presence of the house itself, the village, and the location, including the large black pillars, and moved there, and since then, I have been constantly renovating it myself. We use old materials to preserve the historical texture as much as possible. The floorboards are reused chestnut wood and rice shelf boards laid under the tatami mats. The paving stones from the garden are reused in the Goemon bath, and the storehouse door used at the Nagaya gate is reused in the entrance. In the summer, you can spend time in a cool old house without air conditioning. On the other hand, in winter, I think it feels very cold because of the drafts, but one of the things I would like you to experience is the ingenuity of living to stay a little warm, such as the self-built ondol (floor heating) and the Goemon bath. Our guest rooms are private accommodations, but the bathrooms and shower rooms are shared facilities. 【Access to the B&B】 It takes 20 minutes by the Nozawa liner bus from the Iiyama station. The nearest bus stop is the Nakao.
