Vacation rentals with lake access in Houghton County

This house was exactly what we were looking for when booking for my bachelorette trip. It was private, relaxing, and was surrounded by beautiful views. Unfortunately it was not warm enough for the pool during our stay, but the hot tube and sauna were amazing. The cliff at the water’s edge was even better than the pictures. Cheryl was always on top of responding whenever anything came up, or for any questions we had before and during the stay. She was an amazing host, and I would definitely stay here again when going to the UP.

This home was perfect for a quick girls trip Once we figured out the sauna it was very nice after a day of hiking. Very calm peaceful spot we are hoping to come up again. House was clean and matched the pictures.

We the great experience of being able to stay at both of Anjila's properties! The main things that stood out to us the most was how incredibly accommodating and friendly the hosts were and so responsive. I cannot say enough about them. And the spectacular view! WOW! To be clear, this is a unique set up with sharing the common areas outside and a wall with other guests but it works! We met the other family staying and they were super nice. Yes you do hear the other guests a little but to experience the views like these units offer and the friendliness of the hosts far make up for any possible "noise". It was never loud either. Both units have pluses. Both have great beds, space, incredible stock of spices (that was great as I always forgot those), and it seemed they had everything you could possibly want to have for a great outdoor experience! I truly hope we will be back. Thank you so much!!!

Came to town for work and Lesley and her place were both great! I travel for work 8 months out of the year and wish every place I stayed had someone as helpful and easy to work with as her! I would absolutly stay with her again!

This place was a perfect getaway spot! The home is clean and the decor is very cute. Large kitchen with all amenities necessary to cook meals while there. Beds more firm than I’m used to, but still very comfortable and cozy. Comfy blankets, sheets, and pillows also. Location was fantastic and rustic with few neighbors. Private access to beautiful little lake with dock and a variety of boats to explore with. Flies and mosquitos could be intense at times, so we really enjoyed relaxing outside within the protections of the screened in porch. Very peaceful and relaxing trip, thanks to this gem. We would definitely stay here again in the future.

Paul’s place was perfect for our family’s stay for graduation weekend. It offered plenty of space, convenient to campus and best of all, the perfect grad pic opportunity on the deck with views of campus.

Beautiful home and an amazing view of lake superior. Would recommend this stay to anyone! Lots of room and very clean, was nice to come back to after long days of exploring the area! And a good location. Thank you for letting us use your home for our trip!

Had a wonderful time and the accommodations were great. Cabin had everything we needed and more, was perfect for our fishing trip! Will definitely stay again, the host Sherry and Bob are super nice people.

Fantastic spot!! Great walking access to food, the walking path, and shops nearby. Roy's is below the unit, so you hear and smell them preparing all the delicious pastries and pasties starting quite early. I bring a noise machine standardly. THE VIEW and deck makes this an epic place to stay. I cannot imagine staying somewhere better. It was very clean, had everything we needed, and was super convenient.

My husband and I needed a last minute place to stay over the past weekend. We wanted to stay in the L’Anise area, since we have a friend that lives in the town, and this was the best option. The unit is clean, has an amazing view of Lake Superior and is very spacious. I was very impressed with the unit overall. I would gladly book again!

We had a fantastic time for a winter weekend getaway. The listing was accurate, the unit was very clean and spotless, and check in and entry was easy despite plenty of snow. Thanks for a great home in this winter wonderland!

This was a perfect location for our stay and the accommodations were excellent. Very comfortable and clean. Host was very responsive. It was a very short visit, but we will be coming back to town again soon for a longer stay and will do it again.

Our stay was great. Very clean, and the host was very easy to communicate with. We were in an accident during our stay and the host was very accommodating through the process. The only complaint I would have is the building looks like a dentist office, so it is hard to find.

This is our second stay at the wonderful cottage. Beautiful lake-views/frontage, shady picturesque surrounding trees, UP nature at its finest. We love the cottage and felt right at home and it provided everything we needed. Thank you for providing a wonderful vacation spot for us again!

I’m not sure where to begin.. It was a beautiful stay and a memorable few days spent at the cottage. My kids and I even got to enjoy a magical show put on by the northern lights above the shining Gitche Gumee last night! We had everything we needed and appreciated all of the little touches and amenities. We loved the retro feel and style of the place as well as the location and privacy. We will definitely be back! I have only absolutely wonderful things to say about our stay here! The location, on the shore of Lake superior, near Mt Bohemia but also near to other attractions was fantastic. The house itself is lovely as is the sauna house. I have never stayed in an airbnb so well appointed. The decor was lovely, nice bedding, games, books, etc. The kitchen was better stocked with pans etc than my own. It was perfect for many lovely family meals. We had an incredible stay! I hope we will come back many times in the future! Thank you!

Some girl friends and I had a wonderful stay here. Very beautiful place, scenery, and very peaceful. Close to Quincy’s for a place to eat, and had lots of kitchenware for cooking. Overall, we had all the essential amenities we needed and more. I recommend staying here!

This was our second stay at this Airbnb. We enjoyed our stay and felt right at home. Everything was neat and clean. We enjoyed visiting local restaurants & Silver River Bakery is a must!

We have stayed at Gail’s other rentals before and they have all been excellent. She’s flexible and easy to work with, and provides a clean place to call home for a few days. We will be staying again in the future!

Diane was very responsive to all of our questions. The view and vibe were fantastic, we really loved our rustic stay in the UP, complete with peak foliage and tons of wildlife. Kitchen is fully stocked, sauna gets hot, couch is comfy. A couple of things which are noteworthy, the cottage is not really in the populated part of L’Anse so going to the store/town is 20 min each way. There is a bunch of firewood outside to use which is very convenient. The waterfront fire ring seemed to be in the neighbors yard so we were unsure and didn’t use it, didn’t see any outdoor chairs to use around it either, was probably and oversight on our part and I’m sure if asked, this would have been answered right away :). The extra cottage is not attached and a little bit of a walk from main house, not ideal if traveling with kids fyi, but clearly stated in description. Everything is comfy and relaxing and we would come back here. Thank you.
