Vacation rentals with a fire pit in Houghton County

This place was a perfect getaway spot! The home is clean and the decor is very cute. Large kitchen with all amenities necessary to cook meals while there. Beds more firm than I’m used to, but still very comfortable and cozy. Comfy blankets, sheets, and pillows also. Location was fantastic and rustic with few neighbors. Private access to beautiful little lake with dock and a variety of boats to explore with. Flies and mosquitos could be intense at times, so we really enjoyed relaxing outside within the protections of the screened in porch. Very peaceful and relaxing trip, thanks to this gem. We would definitely stay here again in the future.

Great home just out of Houghton. Close driving distance to MI Tech, Downtown Houghton, and the shopping area. Worked perfect for our party of 7. Plenty of bedrooms, seating, and space. Highly recommend!

Great stay! Arrived and had some questions that Cheryl responded to immediately. The house is typical of north woods homes: It’s unlikely you’ll spend much time anywhere but the closed porch with waterfront views. My husband fished each morning and night (bass & pike plentiful). All the little amenities and touches were really welcoming.

Alexa’s place was very comfortable, convenient, and clean. It served as a perfect midway point between Houghton and other parts of the Keweenaw. There was plenty of space for the two adults and two children in our group with lots of room to spare, and I really liked how open the common area was on the main floor. This might seem small and insignificant to most, but as a coffee snob, I appreciated that there was whole bean coffee and a grinder. 😊 I would definitely stay here again.

EXACTLY what we were looking for: a clean and comfortable base from which to explore the Keweenaw! Quiet residential neighborhood within easy driving distance to Calumet and Houghton restaurants and shopping. This place was even BETTER than we thought. Super tidy, very comfortable and well appointed. Don’t hesitate to book here!

had a great time here! the cabin was perfect for our family of 6, we had everything we needed and more. the view of the lake and the peacefulness of the area was beautiful, would definitely recommend!

The place was clean and cozy. There is a drop off to get to the lake but a rope and ladder was provided which made it a fun adventure to climb down easily. Best part was it kept our dogs from running into the water every chance they got. It was so relaxing and we will definitely come back again!

I needed somewhere to stay near Calumet for an entire month, and this place was perfect for what we needed!! We had every amenity that we could have needed during our stay. The area surrounding the place was beautiful, and just a short drive from Lake Superior. Everything was excellent and the hosts were easy to communicate with. Would definitely stay here again if I'm back in the area!

My husband and I had a very wonderful time at Walden! Everything about the cabin was perfect. We loved the open kitchen and cooked breakfast there every day, as well as grilled out a few nights. The location was great: close to hiking, the beach, and some good restaurants. It was nice after a day of being out to come back to the amenities at Walden. Comfy bed and couches, great shower, and all the towels and linens were high quality. Cool decor as well. Truly a perfect escape from the city. Richard was also super responsive about recommendations, and even brought us charcoal for the grill. We’d come back again anytime!

100/10 Absolutely stunning property! The photos don’t do it justice. The sound of the stream running thru the back and the beautiful woods was exactly what we were looking for. The cabin has everything you could need or want. Just so beautiful inside and out it was very clean and neat. Everything about our stay was wonderful!

It really was a wonderful stay! This modern, cozy cabin has an open floor plan and vaulted ceilings that really open the space up making the cabin feel more spacious with great natural lighting during the day. The hosts were very active and quick with responses. Vicki gave a detailed list of activities, great eats, and points of interest. The cabin location is great, it feels secluded and remote but remains close to town as well as Calumet Water Works Park right off of Lake Superior. Would definitely recommend this stay to anyone and would love to stay here again!

We had a wonderful time at this cottage on the lake. It was cozy and comfortable and waking up to a beautiful view of the water can’t be beat!

Beautiful, spotless, relaxing accommodations that are super convenient for the quick run into town (which we only needed to do once) if you want to. The cabin was beautiful, the upstairs bed was PERFECT (although the downstairs shower is the best one) and we couldn't have improved on anything other than to mention that the coffee maker is a Keurig so if you're a decaf drinker, make sure to stop and get your own pods! It was a little too chilly to enjoy a swim in the lake during early June, but we certainly enjoyed the sauna and even did a quick plunge or two as part of that experience. We enjoyed some bird watching from the back deck and our dogs loved stretching their legs in the huge backyard and having a swim in the lake as well. There's a bit of construction going on next door which started mighty early for us late sleepers on vacation (7am 2 days in a row) but otherwise we left relaxed and recharged and can't wait to go back again!
