Family-friendly vacation rentals in Hobart City Council

We had an amazing stay in the Pod. The location was very private and peaceful and the hot tub was an absolute delight for a nice relaxing dip before bed. The host were absolutely amazing and were very helpful during our stay and we loved having the dogs to keep us company in the mornings while we were outside enjoying our coffee. Stunning location and a beautiful little home away from home. Nel and Lorne were both welcoming and helpful, even offering us lifts into town for events. The kitchen supplies shared made our life much easier and the workspace was perfect. The view from the lounge room and bedroom window was so beautiful and we enjoyed spending time just being in the unit watching out to the water. The bath tub was beautiful and the heating worked well, the bed and linens were great and the kitchen was well equipped. We loved Taroona and hope to stay with Nel again when we return to our beloved Tassie 💖

I want to say it was awful so that it’ll be free next time I want to book it. But that’s not fair, everyone should get the opportunity to stay here. Quiet location away from the main roads, gorgeous views from the hot tub on the balcony. Simple, cosy accomodation that was exactly what I was after. Sean was super communicative prior to the stay and everything was so well explained I didn’t need him again except to let him know that regretfully, my stay was over. 10/10, thanks Sean for making such a special place available.

Communication was great, the house was amazing and the beds were super comfortable. The kids loved their little surprises and we loved staying there. Beautiful home and fantastic host! Super clean, elegant space with a very large kitchen, living space and incredibly comfortable bed. Scottie was extremely accommodating with both our 11pm check in and use of the spa under the stars. Always available to help, we felt right at home and loved feeding the sheep in the morning!

We absolutely adored our stay at this charming garden cottage in Glebe. It’s the perfect blend of cozy and quaint, with beautiful touches that made us feel instantly at home. Nestled in a quiet, leafy spot yet close to all the best Hobart has to offer, it was a peaceful and warm retreat after days of exploring. Our host was incredibly welcoming—sharing fascinating local history and giving us great recommendations for places to eat, shop, and explore. We especially loved hearing about the cottage’s past and how lovingly it’s been maintained. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a unique and heartfelt Tasmanian experience. Thank you!

Miro & Edinas home is beautiful. Edina greeted us and showed us important features of this smart house & shared information on nearby must sees. The pantry and fridge were a plenty & they’d even bought us a loaf of bread and fresh fruit, which we really appreciated. Even though you share an internal stairwell, it was still very private. Very cosy for the winter with fireplace and heaters and extra blankets for us northerners. The main bedroom has a beautiful view of the mountain; so picturesque especially on a full moon. Thank you once again Edina & Miro, it was truly a delight to stay with you.

Very nice place in Hobart, close to shops and pubs, easy to get down to the harbour, perfect for a long weekend.. A wonderful sat, thanks for having us.

Our stay with Maggie & Gary was such an excellent find! We greatly appreciated their hospitality, welcoming attitude, advice on sights in Tasmania, and delicious home made spreads. Such a wonderful experience for us in a beautiful environment.

We loved our stay at Sandy Bay. The house has great views and is very cozy with the charm of yesteryear and with a nice outdoor deck which would be lovely in the summer. Although only a short distance from the main road, it's peaceful and quiet. Easily walkable to the hustle and bustle of town, to cafés and Long Beach. Lots of dog friendly places around. Highly recommended.

If we were to stay in Hobart again, staying here would be a no brainer. The home is a delight and the location is perfect for getting around the town. Lots of cute little cafes and restaurants a stones throw away whilst maintaining the charm of an inner city suburb. Everything from check-in to check-out went very smoothly. Thank you to our host Kat for the very prompt and clear communication. I can't recommend the Milkman's Cottage enough.

Lois' little cottage was fantastic. Loved the interior, very comfortable and cosy. Short distance to supermarkets and eateries and an easy walk to CBD.

Great location for family or friends to get together. Literally walk out the door onto a beautiful beach. Plenty of outdoor amenities available incl swimming pool, tennis, basketball hoop, billiards, kayaks etc. Quiet and peaceful area, but close to airport and to Hobart so very convenient. Great communication from Julie in advance who also met us on arrival and showed us in. Thank you for a great stay.

We stayed for 3 nights and it was great. The location next to the river was beautiful. The cottage contained everything we could wish for and was very comfortable.

Jodi and Lindsay were fantastic hosts. Their lovely unit was in a great location and even had a wonderful café on the corner for our morning coffee. We were lucky to stay during the Dark Mofo Festival and Jodi offered great suggestions on different exhibitions to see and events to attend. Thank you Jodi and Lindsay!

Jodi's apartment is at the best location, vrry close to a great cafe, grocery stores, bus stop and moonah shops. Best thing is private car parking which is hard to find with other air bnb places. You can view beautiful mount Wellington from the bedrooms, and living room gets cozy by sunshine during the day. Jodi was kind enough to give us quick tour of the house on checking-in, and also let us stay an extra hour before checking out. Thank you Jodi for letting us stay at your lovely place.

Very spacious property with plenty of towels, bedding, kitchen & laundry amenities and comfort during our stay. The view is spectacular and we were very happy with the heating for our winter stay. Very close to the ferry terminal and lovely pub, cafes and supermarkets close by.
