Vacation rentals with beach access in Hillcrest, San Diego

This was just what we needed for our stay! Easy walk to the bay, and to surrounding restaurants. Quinn gave very clear instructions on where everything was.

The property was exactly as described—beautifully decorated touches, and best of all, it included access to a private beach that felt like our own hidden getaway. We had originally planned to stay at the Gaylord Hotel but stumbled upon this listing—and we’re so glad we did. Choosing Tamara’s place turned out to be the best decision. The spacious layout, multiple comfortable beds, and well-appointed bathrooms offered a level of comfort and privacy that far exceeded what a hotel could provide. When we weren’t relaxing on the private beach, we explored the charming local town and rented electric bikes from IB Bikes, which was a perfect way to take in the area’s attractions and restaurants. Joaquins place was so nice and as pictured. We felt so at home and had everything we needed for a nice stay! We really appreciated the hospitality and the bikes were a plus! The location is great and parking was easy. The bed was comfortable, everything was perfect. Some tips: the place was a little difficult for us to find (a user error Im sure) but we looked at the trash cans for the house number. To adjust the seat on the bikes there are tools attached to one of the pouches on one of the bikes. You won't be disappointed in this rental, would definitely stay again!

Pretty much perfect. Location is just stupid perfect. Walk right over to the Del Coronado, right to the beach, right to coffee. The place is perfect for a couples romantic stay. I plan on going back each year. I would suggest using their parking at the B of A right next door. Totally worth it. I really have zero bad things to say. Value A+. Easy A+ Clean A+. Safety A+++++. Lobster rolls across the street A+. Buzzed coffee around the corner A++++. I’ll be back.

Wonderful vacation and spot for 2 adults and 3 teens! Everything was in walking distance. Home was just as described. Dan was super helpful and responsive when we needed it. We would definitely stay again!

We enjoyed our stay very much. The unit was clean and very well stocked with necessities. The location was perfect for us and we highly valued the assigned parking space. The weather was lovely and we were able to enjoy a nice walk along the coast line to the nearby little beach town and stopped for a morning coffee and an acai bowl. Cody was super fast to respond to any questions we had. Would certainly stay again.

Great location and very well kept. Beach bungalow/ cabin vibe. Walking distance to anything and everything around Ocean Beach, which is so fun and lively but still peaceful! The cliffs down the road are a bit dangerous and windy but with the right shoes, so worth the views. We didn’t realize the hot tub was shared with 2 other units on the property but we got lucky and had no trouble using it when others weren’t and barely noticed our neighbors- they were very quiet. Owners were great and responded within seconds!

Great stay, felt very safe and at home. So much to do at a walkable distance, very close to the beach, 10/10 would definitely stay again. Albert was awesome, proactive at check-in, and quick to respond to any questions we had.

Aaron’s place set a high standard for Airbnb’s in the area. Comfy and cozy, you can really tell corners were not cut. Full size kitchen, interior design is a cut above the rest, and (for the first time out of anywhere I’ve ever stayed) a mattress that doesnt cause back problems after 2 nights. Aaron was very responsive and accommodating. It will be difficult to enjoy another Airbnb at this price point after staying here. Next time we go to Ocean Beach we will be keen on booking this specific spot again. Truly a 5 star stay

This is a real gem! It’s spacious, immaculately clean, and loaded with everything you could possibly need.

This was by far the best Airbnb experience I’ve ever had. The cottage is elegantly but comfortable decorated, linens high quality, kitchen well equipped, bathroom well designed with plenty of counter space for a small room. A heated toilet seat and bidet were appreciated! The entire property is beautifully landscaped and the little garden in back is serene. The overall design and layout are like something out of Architectural Digest. We will definitely stay here again when we are back in the area.

My first visit to San Diego and selecting Chad's place worked out great! Ocean Beach is a great neighborhood and was very walkable... so much to do right in the immediate area. Chad was very responsive, friendly and very welcoming! Highly recommend!! Already looking forward to a return trip to explore more.

Great place. The space was clean, comfortable, and compact, but not small. Furniture and amenities were all modern. Super convenient space. Walked everywhere. 2 blocks to sunset cliffs and great breakfast cafe and mexican food. Less than 1 mile/10 min walk to Newport Ave and OB for great bars/breweries, music, food, etc. Felt like we were living like locals. We didn't use the garage but parking on the street was easy. The listing does say you share a wall but its still quiet, however just note, you may be walking past the adjoining neighbors windows or door to get to the entrance of the unit, or sharing the yard if you are hanging out there (we did not).

A Perfect San Diego Coastal Getaway! I recently had the pleasure of staying at Carl's beach home in the Pacific/Mission Beach area, and it was nothing short of amazing! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the charming beach cottage. The decor is super cute, combining cozy beach vibes with modern comforts, making it feel like a home away from home. The location couldn't be better! Just a short stroll from the beach, we enjoyed daily walks along the shore and stunning sunsets. The nearby restaurants and shops added to the convenience, making it easy to explore the local scene. Carl was an exceptional host, providing us with all the information we needed for a smooth stay. The cottage was clean, well-equipped, and had everything we needed for a relaxing vacation. If you're looking for a perfect beach getaway, I highly recommend Carl’s beach home. This was our second stay at this apartment, and it was just as wonderful as we remembered. We love being so close to the beach and within easy walking distance of Ocean Beach. For week-long visits, having a well-equipped kitchen makes it easy to cook a few meals at home. The bed is incredibly comfortable, and having access to a washer and dryer is a huge plus. We will stay here again on our next trip to San Diego.

This was a wonderful place to stay. My wife, my two children, and myself stayed here for three nights. Everything was a breeze, and we had everything that we needed. Mugs, glasses, plates, etc. were all provided. This is so conveniently located. You are within a three minute walk to Starbucks, a four minute walk to the beach, and a four minute walk to outstanding restaurants nearby. The area is safe, clean, and quiet. This place is ideal for a small family that is bringing only one car. If you bring more than one car, you have to park publicly on the side of the street, which is very inconvenient in my opinion. Geoff provided everything for us, including an extra twin size bed, sand toys for the beach, beach, chairs, and beach towels. We would love to stay with Jeff again.

Great place to stay to be close to the beach and boardwalk! Parking Was a challenge on the weekend but we were able to walk and find it easy.

Great location on Mission Beach. Emmy's book of local suggestions was great for finding good food in the area. Centrally located to all different San Diego attractions which was great. Loved the beach being right outside the door as well as the ability to walk all around Mission Beach. My family and I even walked to Pacific beach. Emmy was wonderful with checking in on my family. I would definitely recommend.

We had an amazing stay at Nicklas’s place in San Diego! The condo is beautifully renovated and right on the waterfront—waking up to those ocean views was such a treat. The kitchen and bathroom were fully stocked with everything we needed, making our stay super comfortable and convenient. You can tell a lot of thought has gone into making the space feel like a true home away from home. We would absolutely love to stay here again in the future. Highly recommend!
