Hadrian's Wall Cottage

TerenceRating, 5 starstoday
Nice cottage in a rural location with great views to the south. Close to Hexham and Corbridge, nice places to explore, eat and drink. We thought it best to drive to these places via the local A and B roads rather than the country lanes. We used this as a centre for exploring Durham and Northumberland and made use of the train services from Hexham to help us get about. We enjoyed sitting in the cottage and watched the local bird life swooping around. It was also interesting watching the huge farm machinery trundle by a few times each day.

Lovely village pub serving good food no more than 5 minute walk along road from cottage., also there is a bus stop outside of pub which runs into Hexham. Would definitely stay here again

Cosy Cottage ideal for Explorers & City Escapers

The Parlour was comfortable and homey. It was originally a milking parkour that has been remodeled into a wonderful place to stay. It has a loft for kids that made me wish I was ten again. Kids would love it! We enjoyed the downstairs with the spacious bedroom and comfortable bed. We cooked our meals in the well outfitted kitchen. The living and dining room was relaxing and inviting. We appreciated the beer and prosecco in the welcome basket. I mentioned that I had hurt my knee, and Claire stopped by with hiking poles I could use. So thoughtful and kind. We enjoyed our time visiting sites along Hadrian’s Wall. This was an ideal base for that.
A scenic view of the river Tyne reflects the surrounding landscape, featuring lush greenery and quaint buildings along the banks. The peaceful waterway appears calm under a clear sky, with gentle ripples visible. A stone bridge is seen in the distance, connecting both sides of the river.

Lovely, comfortable home. The outside part leading down to the river is unreal! We spent most of our time out there. Was very quiet on a night too. 10/10 would stay again

Garden Cottage in tranquil North Pennine valley

A wonderful week’s stay in this beautiful place. We were made so welcome, the cottage and garden are definitely one of the best places we’ve ever stayed. Our dog was very happy here too. We especially loved the walk from the cottage to Hemel Cafe in Allenheads, following the stream. We look forward to our next visit!
