The perfect starting point for hiking and mountain biking in Rold Forest and Rebild Hills or as a quiet shelter in the tranquility of the forest, from which life can be enjoyed, perhaps with the mouse owl hovering over the meadow, the squirrel darting up the tree trunk, a good book in front of the wood stove or coziness in the firelight at night.

In Hjarbæk (10 km by car and 7.5 km by bike) idyllic marina, renowned inn and delicious ice cream parlor (summer open). 50 m from the house, there is a bus stop with several daily departures to Viborg, among other places.

The apartment has its own entrance, key box for easy check-in, an electric car charger and free access to washing machine. Inside there is an entrance, small bathroom with shower, 2 bedrooms, fully equipped open kitchen and living room with comfortable 140 cm sofa bed. If you want to experience Denmark from its beautiful and quiet side, then “Vidkærhøj” is the place for you. The home is part of our property from the 1870s, and was originally an old barn, which we have lovingly restored over the past few years. It is centrally located between Aarhus, Silkeborg and Skanderborg. It is high up here, and if you like, our dog, Aggie, would love to greet you, just as our cats, chickens and rooster are also very curious. We can’t wait to host you 🤗

House in the country - The Retro House

Note! Limited bookings spring/summer 2025 due to construction work on the farm! Welcome to Vandbakkegaarden’s Retro House. Here you will find nature, peace and plenty of cosiness in authentic surroundings. The house is the original cottage built around 1930, while we live in a newer house on the property. The house deserves to be lived in and cared for, and you – our guests, contribute to that. We also appreciate offering our guests a different type of holiday and on a budget.

Quiet accommodation in charming Landsted

Quiet overnight stay in the charming country house, on a large natural plot. Enjoy the view of the glacial meltwater ravine and the neighbor's grazing cows right outside the front door. Take a walk on the large natural plot, in the forest on the slope down to the small stream, hang out by the small garden pond or get your heart rate up on the garden trampoline. Say hello to the hedgehogs, deer and pheasants on the grounds.
