Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Frenchboro

Sydney’s house was perfect for our family! It was clean, with beautiful views on a quiet, private street. The house had plenty of toiletries, we didn’t need to buy any household items while there. The hot tub was clean and perfect for a breezy afternoon looking out at the water. Sydney was a great host, providing tons of recommendations on places to dine and sites to see. Perfect location to visit both the Schoodic Peninsula and Acadia National Park/Bar Harbor! Would love to stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at Plover Cottage and truly enjoyed the incredible views of Taunton Bay from the windows as well as the sitting areas on the property. Bar Harbor and ANP are about a 40 minute drive but a very nice one at that. Schoodic Peninsula is a closer ride and well worth the visit! The kitchen is well stocked and filled with other essentials that make for a wonderful stay to explore the beautiful coastal towns in the area. Thank you Jonathan for being a responsive host and offering us a wonderful place to experience Acadia National Park!

Great home! Plenty of space for our party of 9! We had 5 adults and 4 kids. The kids enjoyed the space to play downstairs & the space to be outside. We appreciated having a few bedrooms on the main floor for my elderly parents. We felt right at home. We stayed in six states during this trip. This home was our favorite! The drive to downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia is very easy. The host’s communication was excellent and kind. She offered lots of suggestions as well as other little details around the house. Should our travels ever take us back to the Bar Harbor area, we’d definitely stay here again. Thank you for sharing your home! June, 2025

What a beautiful stay. It was my first time in the area and at Acadia NP and I’m so happy I chose Jackie’s place in Winter Harbor rather than the busy Bar Harbor side. It was so peaceful and quiet in the evenings. There were also walking distance hikes in Acadia NP. There is a ferry on the Winter Harbor side to take into Bar Harbor which was a lovely scenic trip and incredibly convenient. There is a delicious seafood restaurant right down the street that was walking distance from the house as well. Jackie was so responsive and a great host. I would 10/10 book again.

The cottage was very nice and beautifully located right on the water. The view from the upstairs bedroom was incredible. While we were out and about most of our stay, there was plenty of room for us to spread out and relax inside the cottage, and the kids loved exploring the rocky shoreline. The kitchen was well-supplied, and Kathleen stopped by to introduce herself and drop off extra salt and pepper she had noticed was low after the previous guests. Then she left us to relax and enjoy our stay, but assured us she was right next door if we needed anything at all. There was a set of paper instructions that requested guests to perform additional check-out tasks beyond what was in the AirBnB listing including washing and drying towels and bedding before the 10AM checkout. We thought this was a bit much, but we did our best to accommodate these requests and help out. The location of this cottage on the calm side of the island was excellent. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

We had a wonderful week stay celebrating our one year wedding anniversary. Samuel and Isabel and were wonderful hosts! The icing on the cake was being greeted by their sweet labs, Enzo and Stella. Our two year old daughter always had a smile on her face every time she got to see them. She poured all her love (and many hugs) to the two of them. If you’re looking for a place to stay in Mount Desert area look no further! Their guest home was beautiful, quiet, and serene. We hope to come back next year!

This is an amazing find! We have been to 37 states and have stayed in countless air bnbs, and this is quite possibly our favorite. The location is gorgeous! The house is packed with amenities, which we super appreciated as a family of 5. The view every morning and evening was stunning. We were able to kayak from the house, have campfires, see the stars at night, enjoy the view and TV while hot tubbing, sip tea from the balcony, hike the nearby preserve, watch the wildlife and experience the amazing tides. We would 100% stay here again and hope to after we catch the other 13 states. If you're on the fence, just book it!!

Such a peaceful and charming getaway! Loved the private backyard space and all of the cute design details. Plenty of fans to keep us cool and lots of supplies/activities. The little radio speaker was great and loved that there were some guidebooks to read and games to play. The first aid kit was fully stocked too which was so handy. SO glad that we had this spot to come back to after long days in bar harbor, nice to be away from the touristy area and to have such a cozy space to unwind. The neighboring town of Ellsworth was super cute and definitely worth a visit if you stay here. Would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking to visit the area.

The apartment was fantastic! It had everything we needed, and no clutter! Beautiful furnishings, modern, simple and comfortable. Surprised by the unexpected gorgeous view of the Narrows bridge at night - what a great seating alcove to enjoy it! Easily walkable to the waterfront and restaurants. We have come to depend on Warren's on the Waterfront and Bucksport House of Pizza over the past few years of visiting - this trip did not disappoint, the pizza and sandwiches are still top notch! We were here this time for our son's graduation from MMA, and although we rented a larger home for the younger guests and West Coast visitors, we chose this one for us, as a place to get away from the chaos of the larger home. It was simply perfect. Kudos to your housekeeping, the apartment was spotless and so welcoming - especially after a 13 hour drive from Maryland. Even though our son has graduated, we will be back. We just love the area. Thank You!!!

Kevin and Donna’s place was very clean and comfortable. It is just a short drive from downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia national park. Watching the geese and ducks in the beautiful backyard each morning was a bonus. Kevin and Donna are responsive and friendly.

The experience left nothing to be desired as we were looking for a remote spot and a place comfortable and spacious enough to stay inside during bad weather and Jeff’s place checked the boxes. We were the only ones in the 2 unit home. The view is very pretty and the wildlife is plentiful. The access to the water is down a dirt embankment which leads to mud flats at low tide. Beware of the tides if you can get the kayaks down there.

2nd time staying here. Came in September for my Wife's birthday. This time we actually were on our honeymoon in Utah going to all the national parks, but after a week of 100 degree hikes we said let's actually enjoy our honeymoon and go to our favorite place we have been to. We loved acadia and this Air bnb so much we changed our flights to come here for the last week. Beautiful A frame house you can see the ocean. We ate lobster the whole week and hiked acadia, and it was awesome to come back to this place and rest. Recommending everyone we know to this place. I have a friend getting married and he is going to come for his honeymoon and stay here. My brothers were jealous and they are planning om coming up here at some point too. 10/10 I will be back.

This is a great place to stay, even better than it appears in the photos. It was not just clean, it was immaculate - and for an extremely observant nurse - that was awesome. The unit had easy access with a slight gradient path and only two steps - which was very helpful for us as seniors. The firm bed was very comfortable. Barbara was responsive and thought of everything, including having delicious specialty coffee for us - Thanks. She even had a cooler in the closet for us to use when we went to Acadia National Park. Like I said, she truly thought of everything. If we return to this area of Maine, we would love to stay again. We enjoyed our stay.

We had a wonderful time at Mel's place! The room & area was exactly as described - very peaceful and quiet. The working fireplace in our room definitely added to the charm, and we appreciated having a kitchen area to make coffee in the mornings. Mel was also very communicative; our flight was delayed getting in, and he left clear instructions for check-in. Overall, we had an amazing visit and will definitely be back!

The place is very nice and private. Quiet neighborhood, yet close to the downtown area in Camden. Walking distance to the trail to Mt Battie. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. Jason was very friendly and had clear instructions on how to use everything. We really enjoyed our stay.

So peaceful but off season. So not sure how it would be with lots of traffic and people. But the private deck and entrance was wonderful. The water view couldn’t have been more up close and personal with the beautiful harbor. The place was clean and cozy. Perfect lighting. Didn’t watch tv once. A convenient common room for extra supplies or a cup of coffee. Staff was very friendly when we were checking out. No front desk attendant and none needed. They answer messages quickly!
