Centrally located between the two units of Acadia National Park (Mount Desert Island and Schoodic Peninsula) and the beautiful, quiet lakes and mountains of the Donnell Pond Maine State Preserve. Although not on the water, there is access to our private Taunton Bay shore, 3.5 miles away.

Rustic Cabin on DE Sunrise Trail

Trailside Camp is 20X20 off grid Cabin located on West Brook Meadow in Franklin Maine. It has direct access at mile 7.5 of the Downeast Sunrise Trail. Exceptional meadow sunset views for watching Deer, Bear, Birds, Beavers and many other critters that roam the area. There is no electricity, and limited running water. It is equipped with propane stove and fridge. There is a porta potti on site. It is perfect base camp for trips hiking, sightseeing and biking near Acadia National Park.

We are 10 miles from Ellsworth, 26 miles to Bar Harbor, 20 miles to Winter Harbor and the Schoodic Peninsula portion of Acadia National Park.
