“A delightful place to stay. The South Downs Way runs right past the front door (perfect for short walks, hiking or trail running). The views of the hills and vineyards are just stunning. It was so quiet and peaceful but good amenities in the village. We loved how dark it was at night. The accommodation was stylish and spotlessly clean. The wood burning stove was very cosy. Pat is a delightful host and a really kind lady. This place hugely exceeded our expectations and is very highly recommended.”
This little retreat offering CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST is situated within the walled garden and is adjacent to a charming footpath which leads to the old Church of St Johns where the famous Thomas Lord, founder of the Lords cricket ground, is buried. The barn consists of a large airy room with dual-aspect windows, complete with a charming private en-suite with bath and hand-held shower. A comfy, French-feel with the door leading to a pretty cottage garden for you to relax and make yourself at home.
“The room is set in a beautiful village and is perfectly placed to get out and about to enjoy the wonderful countryside. The room is immaculate and clean, the bed comfortable and the little extras such as fresh milk, bread croissants etc make it superb. The bathroom gives a choice of bath or shower, and the whole room is well furnished with everything you need. Bernadette is an amazing host. Very quick to respond, and very helpful with any queries or questions. Makes some great recommendations for dinner etc so if you have never visited before then you will always get good advice and maximise your stay. I really enjoyed my stay here and would certainly recommend to anyone else.”
Second floor flat in south wing of a stately home with stunning views over Corhampton Down and park land.
“I stayed here after walking the first leg of the South Downs Way and it was a perfect place to relax after a long walk. Though I had intended on making use of the local pubs for dinner, upon arrival at the property and seeing the well equipped kitchen, I decided instead to simply buy food from the local village store and cook dinner myself, relaxing on the sofa for an evening of TV. I was very pleased to find a selection of beverages available to me, including hot chocolate which I had forgotten to pack myself. Great communication from the hosts throughout my booking and a welcoming reception upon my arrival when I was shown up to the flat. Thank you. All in all a lovely flat, close to the SDW and I would not hesitate to stay there again.”
