Arcata’s best kept secret!

AngelRating, 5 stars6 days ago
Wow! I can’t believe what a wonderful oasis Katie’s place is! Even more impressive, spacious, and inviting than the photos. The back patio and fire table is a gem, the beds are perfect, and the entire home is spotless. We were greeted and given an intro to the home, and welcomed with homemade scones, great cheese, fruit, cream, and even beverages in the fridge! This place is such a good location and value, and Katie and her husband make it that much better.

Adorable and Spacious Studio ~ Mid-Term Available

RebeccaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Nice apartment in what felt like a safe part of town. The apartment was clean and looked like the pictures. The apartment itself didn’t allow pets, which I like for cleanliness reasons but there were multiple dogs barking across the street and what sounded like in another apartment in the house. So that was a bit annoying. You also have to walk right past a flower bed that is now used as a cat’s litter box to get to the apartment. So that’s gross. But the apartment itself seemed well cared for even though it’s an older building. It’s just the getting to the apartment and the area around it that’s a little weird but I’d still recommend it because it was clean and as advertised.

Humboldt Hide-away

Probably one of the most beautiful places we have stayed. It was more like a tiny house and it was decorated so cute. We loved that it came with a washer/dryer combo, was really convenient and helpful. Absolutely loved how it felt like home.

Humboldt Hygge

KathyRating, 5 stars5 days ago
This home was very roomy and comfortable. The couch and bed were in great condition and comfy to sure. Frankly the cough was divine. The kitchen had everything I needed for meals and the bathrooms shower was amazing. The pressure from the shower head was the best! The ac and heating were fast when used and the laundry facilities were super useful. I returned home with a suitcase loaded with clean clothes. I would suggest people who need their bedroom to be dark bring an eye mask. The curtains and blinds were more for privacy than darkness. I closed the bedroom door so I only had light coming from the bedroom window (one of the living room windows had a direct sight line to the bed) and slept well. The neighbors I encountered were friendly and I felt safe in the neighborhood as a lone woman. Parking was very easy right in front of the house.

Cozy Coastal Getaway- Feels Just Like Home

NancyRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
My son and I stayed at Carrie's place for three nights in late May. We went to explore the Redwood National and State Parks, and McKinleyville fit the bill! We were able to drive daily to our hiking spots, but were also very comfortable both morning and late evening at Carrie's home. Her house is close to Safeway for groceries (we also had pizza nearby) and was so easy to find. Very quiet neighborhood, but near everything one needs when on vacation. In addition, her home was very clean and everything worked well. Highly recommend.

Head Water House

JuanRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
1st time in Humboldt. came for a graduation from SoCal. we rented both spaces upper and lower and it was perfect for our family group. We wanted to be away from the city and this place was its own little slice of farmland heaven. the quiet, the starts, the deer on the meadow. We spent a lot of time outside at the fire pit and the home was fully equipped so cooking grass fed rib eyes on his cast iron was the 🍒 on top. only 15 mins away from DT Eureka as well will come back and highly recommend if your looking for a nature filled vacation

Retro Retreat on Henderson

KathleenRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We were attending my niece's graduation from Humboldt State. She lives in Eureka, so the location was great for us to visit. The house is cute, cozy, the beds are sooo comfortable. The washer and dryer worked great! The outdoor Pool Room is lots of fun with the large TV and pool table, I even learned to play well enough to win one game! There's also a Pac-Man video player. Like the old days. Our 9 year old nephew loved playing. The outdoor furniture is very nice and a good place to read a book when the sun is shining. The house is very close, like 2 minutes away from the Eureka Zoo. The zoo has a remarkable red panda and also the amazing skywalk is next to the zoo. If you haven't been to Skywalk, it's worth the ride from San Francisco just to have the chance to walk amongst the giant redwoods on rope bridges; its truly amazing. We will definitely stay at Emi's on our next visit to Eurika.

Tranquil 2 bedroom home & garden in sunny Fortuna

DustinRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
I stayed at this home for 3 nights and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. The place was spotless upon arrival—fresh linens, clean floors, and everything felt well cared for and thoughtfully maintained. You can tell the hosts take pride in keeping the home tidy and welcoming. Communication was smooth and easy. The hosts responded quickly to messages and provided clear instructions for check-in and check-out, as well as great local tips for food and nearby attractions. The location was ideal for exploring the Redwoods. This made getting an early start on the trails super convenient. The surrounding area was peaceful and quiet, but still close enough to town for groceries and restaurants. If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable, and well-located home base for your redwood adventures, this is it. I’d absolutely stay here again.

3 bedroom beach house 4 minute walk to the beach

MaxRating, 5 stars5 days ago
We had a fantastic stay at Jason’s place in Trinidad, CA! Jason was an outstanding host—extremely friendly, responsive, and proactive with his communication. He provided clear instructions for check-in, which made everything seamless. When I asked if we could extend our checkout time to 12 pm (instead of 10 am), he was incredibly accommodating and happy to oblige. The house itself is beautiful—perched in a serene, quiet location with stunning ocean views. It has three comfortable bedrooms, two with own bathrooms, which made it perfect for our group. The basement was a huge bonus: a cozy, kid-friendly space with a TV where the kids could hang out and play without disturbing the adults upstairs. Trinidad is a charming little fishing town, and Jason’s place is just a short 5–10 minute walk to great local spots—including a seafood restaurant with incredible oysters, a lovely coffee shop, and access to a gorgeous beach. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Redwoods.
