Beautiful and peaceful location. The lake is shallow for a while so it's great for kids. You can see the sunset from the yard as well. Close to Mackinaw City/Mackinac Island, Petoskey, Harbor Springs, and more.

I grew up going to Pickerel Lake and was excited to find this cottage I could rent to relive my childhood. My and my family loved staying at Thomas's cottage. We were able to cook meals, play in the sand, go fishing, watch tv, etc. It was a wonderful view of the lake and drivable to tons of activities in town.

We loved this place so much we hopped on Airbnb to book for next year! While you do have close neighbors, you literally couldn’t hear a car or road/town noise of any kind and the spot on the lake was just pure peacefulness. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes and cooking gear- and I always appreciate when a place had things like salt, oil, and a few spices.

Delightful cabin in Lake Michigan! We spent a few days in August with our young kids and loved every minute. The setting is truly beautify and the rustic comfort of the cabin is perfect for a vacation in nature. The cabin is cozy and has everything you could need. The views from the cabin are serene—there is even a hammock to sit down and watch the sunset, as well as a seating area right by the lake. It took us 30 seconds to walk from the house to the beach—perfect for little kids (and all their stuff!). Dean is the most proactive and diligent host we've ever had. He made sure our stay was excellent. He offered clear directions, lots of local recommendations, and helped us out tremendously when we left something behind. We loved our stay at MATIGWAK and we think you will too!

Great place to stay right on the lake. Beautiful views from the home. We stayed in the winter, but it was still very pretty to look out. The house was clean and as described in the listing. Great communication!

It was our second year in #24 for a terrific northern Michigan golf weekend in the same complex as an owner. The place is perfect for it. We’ll be back again next year!

Great condo - even brighter, cheerier, and roomier than pictured! Condo was clean, beds were comfortable, lots of linens and beach towels, games, well stocked kitchen.... and the view of the lake is fantastic! There were no neighbors when we were there so it was very quiet. Just minutes to Nub's Nob and the Highlands. Lots of choices for restaurants near by and good grocery store nearby. Host was ultra available and accommodating with lots of instructional / helpful signage throughout the condo, lots of extras!!! Thanks for a great stay! Looking forward to going back!!

We stayed at Roger and Mary’s place for a short weekend up north and I couldn’t have been happier with my decision. The place was clean and inviting and Rog and Mary were absolutely wonderful from the beginning of our visit to the end. The condo was spotless, looked exactly like the pictures and very comfortable. Perfect distance from both Harbor Springs, Petoskey and the Highlands. I will most definitely be coming back! Thank you for your wonderful hospitality Rog and Mary!

The location can’t be beat, had a perfect weekend filled with beautiful sunsets and walks on the beach

This place was absolutely gorgeous. We arrived and saw multiple forms of wildlife once entering the town. The house was spotless and the beach is right at your doorstep buttressed by a small dune. I see what she means about the delicate ecosystem. The sky was pretty cloudy every day except one but on that night we saw all the stars and all the constellations like we were at a planetarium. House was well equipped. Very quiet at night. Too cold for swimming but I could see that being a blast if it was summer. We did the Tunnel of trees drive which was gorgeous, visited the Island which was fun, and explored the area. Saw a bald eagle grabbing a fish for breakfast one morning at the house and little animals scurrying about at night on drives home. It was great. Very beautiful and relaxing. Wish we stayed one more say so we could spend one whole day at the house as we were in and out the whole time.

We enjoyed our stay at the boathouse. It is our third visit and it never disappoints. The boathouse was clean and cozy. Pam and Dave are lovely hosts.

This property is so nice for families - with the larger house and the small cabin both, it was perfect. The space was clean and had more amenities than was mentioned in the listing. Jeanine was a good communicator and shared all the necessary information. The only thing I would have liked to know is that the water is across the road and down a very long flight of stairs. I wasn't familiar with the area, maybe if I was I would have known that! But with little ones it was a bit much for them and we didn't end up spending time at the water like I'd hoped. But the view was spectacular! I also loved that the property is out of town a few miles so even though the weekend traffic was bad in town, we felt away from all that. Amazing place to stay! Can’t wait to go back! It was such a pleasure to meet host Judy and hear her tell of her family’s fascinating history of this gorgeous property on Lake Michigan. She is quick to answer any questions you may have…extremely accommodating. While she stays in a smaller abode onsite, the environment still feels private and secluded. The views, indescribable! Mother Nature speaks to you constantly, sometimes in a whisper and other times as a roar. But remember, you will be in the Wilderness Park so be prepared (as Judy says) for a pesky pest or two. We really only experienced them (biting black flies) one evening while collecting rocks along the beach. We found our natural oils repellent worked best. The cottage interior is a delightful eclectic French Country, comfy and cozy!! Every corner is decorated with such uniqueness and interesting flair. There are plenty of areas of the home to gather together or to sit quietly in peace. It is truly a VERY special place!! 💖

Small, but clean and cozy! Perfect home base while we explored the area. Our kids loved having the lake and kayaks to play with. The electricity was a bit funny as all lights would dim when you used anything in the kitchen..but this issue did not detract from our stay. Would definitely recommend!

Jed was amazing. The Airbnb was exactly what we were looking for! Gorgeous lake view for morning coffee. You have all you need for a few days stay. Jed was kind, responsive and the Airbnb was absolutely breathtaking. The views and the atmosphere and quiet scenery is what we had hoped for and we received. The gentle rustle of leaves in the breeze, the soft chirping of birds, and the distant sound of a flowing stream created a harmonious backdrop. Each moment spent in this serene environment felt like a gift, a chance to disconnect from the chaos of everyday life. As the sun began to set, casting a warm golden hue over the landscape, we found ourselves immersed in the beauty surrounding us, savoring every second of our peaceful retreat. The air was crisp and fresh, filling our lungs with a sense of renewal and calm. We were stopping to appreciate the delicate scenery and the vibrant colors of the sunset. The Inland House was a perfect homebase for exploring “Up North”. We enjoyed meandering around Harbor Springs, Petoskey and Charlevoix. The condo is clean, comfortable and well appointed. We loved eating meals while taking in the lakeview. Michelle, our host, was helpful with suggestions and very communicative throughout our stay.
