Vacation rentals with a fire pit in Elk Lake

Perfect location and a wonderful host! Far enough away from downtown for privacy, but close enough where it’s easy to get to everything (downtown Traverse City, Old Mission wineries, etc) also there’s a very nice walking path in the back, which is a great way to start the morning. Highly recommend!

Wow! if I could turn my car around and go right back to Miriah's place, I would do it in a heartbeat! We took our 3 kids for a quick Fall Break trip to Elk Rapids and we all fell in love with Miriah's place and this amazing little town. The house is a perfect layout for families, with lots of common spaces to hang out together AND enough sitting nooks for people to find quiet places to read and relax too. The kitchen has got to be the most well stocked Airbnb kitchen I've ever been to. Next time, I'll plan to cook more because now I know Miriah's house literally has EVERYTHING you might need to cook and serve a big group. The house was spotlessly clean, the furniture was super comfy and we slept super well. We loved walking to the beach, playing at the playground, watching people catch fish by the dam, walking to the shops in town, and enjoying the incredible views. This place exceeded our expectations in every way. Thanks for a great stay!

The hosts were very responsive and communicative. The AC kind of went out and the hosts promptly got someone out to fix it. The setting was beautiful! We enjoyed a couple days on the boat (Northaire rentals), then did day trips to Sleeping Bear Dunes and Mackinac Island and then a down day with the kayaks and SUP. My husband enjoyed fishing off the Dockside Pier. We enjoyed ice cream at Moomers, local cider at Royal Farms and our best meal at Toonie’s for Friday fish fry. Us southerners should have been better prepared for colder water and later seasons. The longer days also threw us for a loop but still a great first trip to Michigan!

We loved our stay in this beautiful house! It's even better in person than the photos - and the photos are pretty great! Perfect location - peaceful and secluded but not far from anything. Melissa was amazing and communicated quickly when any question arose - we were able to check in early and check out late which was an awesome benefit with wine in the car! The amenities are perfection: such a well-stocked kitchen and a pristinely clean bathroom. The bed was so comfortable and the character throughout this lovely old granary really made it a stand out. The location is central to many wineries, breweries and great restaurants - we never felt far from anything but it was so quiet and peaceful to be surrounded by fields and so much green! The hot tub was an amazing bonus and we used it on an unexpectedly cold May night. We loved our stay at the Hoxie Homestead. The location was central to all of northern Michigan’s cute towns and beaches. The property was clean and well laid-out. Loved the decor, and the master bed was super comfy and soft. The hot tub and sauna were perfect. We would certainly stay again.

Fantastic home! We loved everything about this place. Lots of space for our family of six. House was clean, stocked with lots of amenities. Linens, towels, board games, books, kitchen supplies.. We loved the beautiful view, deck, fire pit, dock, paddle board and kayak. Would definitely recommend and would love to come back!

This is the second time I’ve stayed here and I enjoyed this visit as much as the first. Extremely friendly hosts, beautiful surroundings, quiet and peaceful. Exactly what I was looking for. I will stay again for sure.

My partner and I’s stay at Jeffrey and Holly’s suite was outstanding. The space felt incredibly homely, with cozy decor and thoughtful touches that made us feel right at home. It was spotless and well-equipped with snacks, coffee, beach amenities, you name it - and we loved using their kayaks for exploring Silver Lake. They were friendly and provided smooth check-in instructions. The price for the area far beats any hotel we could have booked considering how comfortable, clean, and private the unit was. As other reviews said, mechanical noises and footsteps can be heard, but this did not bother us at all. We loved this unit so much, we will probably check the availability for our next trip to TC. This was hands down the best AirBNB we’ve ever stayed at. Highly recommend!

We had a great time, definitely a cozy stay, enjoyed the paddleboat, our kids lived being on the lake as well. we recommend this guest suite and look forward to staying again!

Heather's place was easily accessible. The listing had everything I needed for a lovely weekend at Walloon Lake. It was also very walkable to the waterfront and other things in the town, such as restaurants and the General Store. Great place to stay!

Lauren’s place was perfect for us to stay at when we had a wedding weekend. She was responsive and we had no problems! Recommend!

We had a great stay for a winter ski trip. 20 min to Boyne highlands. Airbnb itself is very well stocked and well maintained. Host was responsive. One thing to keep in mind is there is a steep staircase to get to the unit that I imagine may not be suitable for all.

Location was perfect for all of the up north adventures like sleeping bear dunes, Leelanau Peninsula, hiking, golfing, and of course Lake Michigan. This spot was a perfect quiet retreat at the end of the busy days, and had stunning views! I would happily stay here again.

Our stay here was perfect for a girls weekend! It was exactly what we were expecting and the place was pristine! The beach was easy to access and the board games came in handy!

We had a lovely stay at Renee and Simon’s cabin. The place was cozy, charming, and had everything we needed for a comfortable weekend getaway. The property exceeded our expectations — just a one-minute walk to a beautiful private lake, where we spent our evenings watching loons, beavers, and swans. The hospitality was more than we could ask for. It was a peaceful and memorable escape.

Great location, great host and great accommodation! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The dog friendliness of this listing was the biggest appeal for us. The only minor issue we had was we needed a space heater for the bedroom at night - lows were getting down into the 30s over Memorial Day weekend and Denise got us one right away. Loved this great find near Traverse City! The property was beautiful with a cute little beach. There were beach chairs on the sand and above on an astroturf seating area. There were also a couple docks to walk out farther onto the water. Our dogs enjoyed the slight waves and exploring the wooded area on leash. The cabin was clean and comfortable. It was about 20 minutes to Traverse City, so it was easy to get to lots to do as well as the beautiful beaches in the area. We loved sitting at the public beach with our dogs. Such a relaxing place to stay and a great town to enjoy with family and pets.

Craig’s cabin was absolutely beautiful and if you want to get away from all the craziness and take a moment of true peacefulness this is the place.

Sommers Retreat was a home away from home! Extremely inviting, perfect for our needs, and the amenities were fantastic. Beth thought of everything. It was nice to come back and relax after a long, MI day. Wish we had had nore time to sightsee but itll definitely be on our radar for future retreats.

Fernside is an adorable place to stay with many extra special and thoughtful additions to make guests feel at home. We loved just relaxing and watching the river. It was a little cold and rainy during our stay so it was an absolute treat to use the beautiful new sauna overlooking the river and green space. We would recommend staying and plan to return!
