Vacation rentals in Elba

We will take you on an amazing 10km Hike over the Monte Capanne. Starting in the small cosy village of Poggio we will enter a Lord of the Rings style forrest where we need to cross some small rivers. From here on we will go up and climb over 700 Meter in the next 6 kilometers, be ready to sweat and a basic good condition is quite handy! On the higher point of the Monte Capanne I will be more then happy to show you the best view points and camera views. I will bring my professional camera and will be more then happy to take your new Facebook or Instagram picture :) So you don't have to carry your heavy camera with you. When we reach the highest point after a quite steep climb where we can use a steel cable to help us you will have a view over the whole island of Elba and on a bright day Corsica and the mainland of Italy. A few steps down there is a nice bar with a great view to take a nice well deserved refreshment or the recommended homemade chocolate cake for €2,50. After this we will start our descending to the amazing village of Marciana this will be the last point of the hike and you can enjoy a nice Gelato or one of Elba's best Bruschetta! Best ending of an amazing day! Other things to note Make sure to bring clothes that can get dirty and sweaty! Don't be to afraid of heights it's the top of Elba ;) Be ready for a great day!

It was way back in 1963 when the founder Bruno Micheletti bought the current estate for 9 million old Lire, from which the name "Le Novelire" derives. Since then the passion and dedication of people, the love for the land and the exceptional climate have continued to produce quality wine and oil. At Nove Lire you will live a unique experience of its kind: first of all you will visit our vineyards and I will explain our way of working the grapes, which still today, as at the beginning of this adventure, is performed by hand. Then I will take you to the cellar, where our wines are left to rest in the barrels, and this is where the fun begins! I will guide you in a tasting directly from the barriques: you can try the different vines that we grow, such as Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, and also several vintages to understand how wine evolves over time during aging in barriques. But the experience does not end here: for a day you will become a winemaker and playing with your tastes, you will combine the grapes to create your own wine and taste it! From south to north; from the white beaches to chestnut woods; during this journey, we will explore Elba's west side, full of history and at the same time covered by the astonishing nature, so flourishing and diverse. We'll begin with visiting San Piero e Sant'Ilario, calm sheppard’s villages. Then, we'll ride to Pimpinella's Farm, a unique refuge for many abandoned  animals. Here we'll have a break from our ride, and enjoy a local fruit smoothie (extracted juice), organic and entirely self-produced in this special oasi. Then we'll proceed to Poggio e Marciana, the highest, fortifieds villages of Elba Island, immersed in fresh chestnut's forests. We'll be ready for the last step, a funny and long downhill ride till Marciana Marina. We'll visit the little marina, enjoy a little break at the sea side, and then we‘ll come back to Marina di Campo, arriving for 1 pm.

In our Cooking School we will make you live a unique Gastronomic Experience, from the moment you enter and wear our apron you will become part of our Cooking team and we will start working together to make different recipes, which we will later eat together. In our Italian Food Cooking Lesson each participant will elaborate their own fresh pasta, starting from the egg and the flour. Once we have obtained our pasta we will proceed to prepare the sauce something typical of Elba island or Tuscan cuisine, like zucchini with shrimps , we also combine it with a another typical recipe and a fantastic dessert, like Mascarpone cream with chocolate. The idea is to learn how to cook excellent recipes, without secrets, and to make dishes that you will be able to reproduce at your home, without using complicated tools but only excellent goods. Everyone can cook, but if cooking is not your passion you can always spend a different evening, where the chef will cook in front of you, Show Cooking, explaining how to do it and why. We also offer Wine Taste evenings with local wines and tapas tasting. The experience can also begin by shopping together, visiting local fishmonger and buying the ingredients that we'll use later. We always try to use 0 km vegetables, fruiti, oil, we collaborate with local farms and shops. Our gastronomic experiences are open to everyone, you can come with your family, in a group or alone.
