This is the nicest short-term rental we have ever used. We had several odd special requests, which were promptly met. The back garden with tented table & beautiful view was lovely in the summer, but there is also much to enjoy in the colder months. The entire place is very comfortable and well-stocked, with many thoughtful touches (charging cables, a beautiful wicker picnic basket, sewing kit, hot water bottle, key spices, etc., etc., etc.). While Ballydehob itself is small, there is music, good food (a Michelin-starred restaurant is a few doors down that even offers takeaway meals), and beautiful West Cork to explore by car and/or foot. A week was not long enough. We are already planning a return visit.

Unsere Zeit, die wir bei Maggie & Paddy verbringen durften war von Anfang an sehr sehr schön und angenehm. Freundliche Kommunikation direkt ab der Buchung und wir bekamen vorab schon ganz viele hilfreiche und interessante Tips. Als wir ankamen wurden wir persönlich begrüßt. Maggie hat für uns ein Brot gebacken und uns ein paar Dinge für ein leckeres Frühstück für unsere Zeit im Cottage bereit gestellt. Das fanden wir sehr aufmerksam und super lieb. Als es am nächsten Tag stark regnete und kalt wurde fragte sie, ob sie unseren Kamin für uns anmachen soll damit es bei unserer Rpckkehr warm im Cottage ist. Auch das haben wir sehr positiv, sehr aufmerksam und vorallem sehr freundlich empfunden. Alles in allem haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt und können absolut empfehlen, hier zu buchen und die Ruhe und die Abgeschiedenheit in dieser wundervollen Gegend zu genießen! Wir würden wieder buchen und würden gerne wieder zurück kommen.

Veel buitenruimte en goede parkeergelegenheid voor de auto. En dan vooral: een prachtige plek met schitterend uitzicht! Veel wandelmogelijkheden in de omgeving.

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour chez Mairead, elle était très serviable et à répondue gentiment à toute nos demandes. Il y avait même une bonne surprise culinaire à notre arrivée. Malgré notre difficulté à parler anglais, cela n'a pas empêché Mairead d'échanger avec nous et de s'intéresser à nous. Le seul petit point négatif était les quelques traces et miettes dans la cuisine à notre arrivée qui devait être juste un petit oubli, le reste était très bien.

Sea view traditional cottage (Wild Atlantic Way)

Das Cottage von Lydia und Martin ist einfach zu finden und liegt wunderschön gelegen mit tollem Blick auf den Atlantik auf der touristisch noch nicht überlaufenen Sheep Head Halbinsel. Der nächstgelegene Ort mit Geschäften und Restaurants ist Bantry und ist mit dem Auto in 15 MInuten zu erreichen. Beschreibung und Bilder im Inserat sind absolut authentisch. Das Haus ist liebevoll, originell und praktisch ausgestattet. Wir haben uns in den 12 Tagen sehr wohlgefühlt und die absolute Ruhe und gute Atlantikluft, dazu die ganze Zeit nur Sonnenschein und kein Regen, sehr genossen. Besonders angenehm ist der Gasofen im Esszimmer am Morgen, der das Zimmer sehr schnell aufheizt. Etwas vorsichtig sollten größere Leute sein, da die unteren Räume wie in diesen Cottages üblich, nur eine Raumhöhe von etwa 2 Metern haben, deshalb Vorsicht bei den Türstöcken. Das merkt man sich aber dann schon nach dem ersten Tag! Trotzdem ein wirklicher Geheimtip!
