Cottage vacation rentals in Dunure

My friend and I chose this cottage for a quiet getaway with our dogs and it was just what we hoped it would be. We were welcomed by Barbara and Graeme upon arrival and they were very kind and helpful if we had any queries at all. The place was spotless and had everything we needed. The views from the bedrooms were stunning and there were plenty walks nearby the property, which were especially lovely in the evening with the sunsets. It was the perfect scenic escape we needed. Thank you Barbara and Graeme (and Rosie the golden retriever of course!).

A very beautiful cottage in a private setting. We were met by George on arrival. George was very friendly and informative. We instantly felt right at home. Welcome basket on the kitchen table was a lovely touch. We settled in very quickly and with ease as parking was right outside the cottage. We enjoyed the very clean hot tub in the evenings after our busy days out as well as excellent carryout deliveries. Quality of food was very good. Another highlight was watching the various types of birds feeding, which we could see from the kitchen table and seating area. Especially the Woodpecker which made a regular appearance. We all enjoyed a truly relaxing break in very comfortable and private surroundings. Our check-in and check-out was effortless. Thank you George and Amanda, we will certainly be back.

An absolute stunning break, our third time here. A quiet, comfortable home and a spectacular garden space for my autistic son to be himself, and my 3 Chihuahuas felt like they were in heaven. The hot tub was well used, even my elderly mum had a go. We had some lovely visits to the surrounding areas but mostly enjoyed the rest and relaxation that we all needed. We can’t wait to come back again.

We absolutely loved staying at the cottage. This was our third place during our Scotland trip and I am so glad we booked it. It allowed us to explore more nature scenes across Scotland and simply have a safe and comfortable home after exploring all day. If we are ever in Scotland again, we will certainly book again.

For what our group wanted it was perfect not a bad word to say about the place, perfect or group weekend away in the country side just what a place!

We absolutely loved our stay here, the hot tub made it even better. Place was immaculately clean, no faults what so ever. Basic kitchen equipment which is all you need for a few days away. Plenty of restaurants, take aways and shop within the area if you’re driving so was able to have the option there if we fancied. Access was easy and it was easy to find, we both liked how it wasn’t on a public road etc and it was so peaceful at night. We were lucky to be able to see a sunset on our first night and that was fantastic, being able to be in the hot tub and have those views was just unreal. Even on our second night the weather wasn’t the best we still loved every minute of it. We cannot recommend this enough, we will definitely be back! Thank you both again

Second time here and again it was fabulous. What an absolutely outstanding place for a quiet weekend. Allan is the perfect host who was readily available if we needed him. The cottage is outstanding and was pristine inside and outside with everything we needed from salt & pepper dishes to dishwasher tablets!! Toilets were immaculate & every room had lovely soft bathrobes as well. Allan even left us a few wee goodies like lovely biscuits and crisps and milk and water in the fridge - a lovely touch! We couldn’t find even the slightest fault with anything in this cottage. Definitely returning for a third time next year!! Well done Allan!! A BIG 10/10!!

Upper Carleton Farm is the perfect farmhouse cottage. This was our first time in Scotland and we cannot wait to come back. Leanne is an exceptional host. The home was sparkling clean, quiet and cozy. Excellent stay in a peaceful setting. The best Airbnb we have ever stayed at!

Lovely residence exactly as described even down to little things like fresh flowers in every room and fresh milk in the fridge. Bed lovely and comfy so had excellent nights sleep. Would highly recommend.

Very convenient accomodation for exploring Dumfries and surroundings. Good communication with host . We might be back here if going to Dumfries & Galloway for a longer time.

Lucy is a very kind and generous person. She will do her utmost to help with any problems. Yesterday, I went out the back door to find a box of eggs from her chickens. She leaves them regularly. I know if there is anything where I need assistance I just need to ask and she's there. A truly super host

It has been a pleasure to stay in Zan's house. Very comfortable, clean and makes you feel at home. The children loved the horses, chickens and all the animals. It was the perfect spot to recharge our batteries

Gorgeous rural location. Very friendly host & family. Cottage was much larger than expected. We had a lovely stay.

Peel lodge was just a perfect stay for us. We were near to one of our daughters who was preparing for her imminent wedding. But also easy access to go exploring for our future home. The lodge was clean and tidy on our arrival . We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay here and would highly recommend .

an absolute gem of a cottage. the bed was so comfortable as was the pillows. everything was spotlessly clean . and the garden was a bonus for our dog .. all she did was sit in front of the gate waiting for it to be opened lol . would stay again happily.

I’ve stayed here on a few occasions both with family and on my own when touring the west coast by motorcycle. Every time i stay it gets better and more things are added to the beautiful garden for you to explore. Highly recommended and the Hosts can’t do enough.

We have just had a great stay at Kevin’s place, an ideal place for a group to enjoy a weekend on Arran. Secluded cottage a short walk up the hill from Lamblash, Marbeth was lovely when she greated us and nothing was to much trouble. Thanks

We loved staying at Louise's place for a night as we travelled up the west coast. Check in was easy and everything was nice and clean when we arrived. The garden in the back is lovely and the two woodburners give a lovely cottage feel to the place.

Suzanne’s place has a very comfy bed, very good shower, well equipped kitchen and good parking. It’s also warm and toasty when needed and the outside table and chairs have the most perfect view when it’s sunny. The open-plan living room is spacious and has a large sofa on which to sprawl as well as strategically placed armchairs. There is a full selection of local guides. The local towns have everything you need and then some (loads of small independent shops). We stayed for four nights - and we will stay much longer next time. Thank you very much to Suzanne and Mike for being such kind, friendly hosts.

The cottage is full of character and very cosy. It’s in a great location with fantastic walks on the doorstep. Bea was at the cottage when we arrived. She was super helpful with advice and very friendly. She was the perfect host. Would definitely recommend any one staying here.
