Charming 2nd Floor Apartment in Historic Fox Point

Light-filled (4 skylights!) upstairs apartment in 169-year-old home. Cozy and playful decor with a lot of nostalgia. The house has beautiful wide pine plank floors. If you like straight lines, this house is not for you - it's a little wonky, but we find its charm far outmeasures the crooked doorways and other quirks. Located in Fox Point, a 15 min walk to brown, steps from Wickenden and Ives streets, the Newport Ferry, coffee shops, and restaurants, but on a side street out of the way of it all.

The cozy loft locates in the center of the downtown Providence, surrounded by the historic art theaters, restaurants, bars and shopping mall. 3 min walking to the convention center, 10 minutes to east College hill (RISD, Brown), west Federal hill, north Train station and State capitol. Parking not included, refer to my guidebook on the parking info. **** Attention ****, the pub directly under the unit plays very loud music til 1-2am on weekend nights, please read other guest reviews on it.

Fantastic 1 Bedroom Apartment right smack in the middle of downtown Providence. The neighborhood is jammed with wonderful little restaurants, bars and shopping. The Dunkin Donuts Center, Trinity Playhouse, PPAC, The Vets, Federal Hill, Providence Place Mall, Johnson & Wales, Brown & RISD are all a short walk from here. We are located two floors above a couple nightclubs. We don't hear the clubs themselves but on the weekends you can hear the people outside.

Rose’s beautiful home was the perfect home base for my alumni reunion weekend. The home is situated in the heart of the College Hill area, close to Brown, RISD, and all kinds of dining and shopping. Once my car was parked in the driveway, I didn’t really need to move it, since most of my planned activities were within walking distance. The room was impeccably done, with lots of room to feel at home. Rose even put out a tea setting for me each morning to start the day. Her home definitely does not feel like a hotel — it feels like a true home, especially welcome after a day crammed with activities. I was very pleased with my stay.

5 Stars! Everything was as pictured and described. Jennifer was very communicative from start to finish. I only had small trouble finding the location initially, as it was late when my flight arrived, but even after midnight, she still responded to my questions and concerns. Excellent host and space! Great place. I had my own room with a private bath (unexpected). It was inexpensive, private... I didn't see anyone my whole time there. There is a really great bakery a five minute walk away. Super easy to stay there... clean, great stay.

Lynell was such a great host. She even answered questions about historic preservation. Her home was so impressive, and felt like a classic bed & breakfast in terms of the atmosphere. Added bonus: the immediate area around the house had excellent restaurants, bars & cafes, yet it was still quiet & comfortable to get a good night's rest. I highly recommend staying at Lynell's listing.
