The Vinery is a bright, self-contained studio within beautiful surroundings. Rolling countryside views to Radwinter Church make this a peaceful and restful stay. River and village walks are highly recommended. We welcome dogs; we have two of our own. Close by is the medieval market town of Saffron Walden. Cambridge, Stansted Airport, London and the village pub are all within easy access. Sorry, no smokers.
“We were very impressed with our recent stay within The Vinery. Helen was very friendly & made us feel very welcome at her accommodation. We were offered lots of useful tips including restaurants in Saffron Walden as an alternative to the local pub. As we also enjoy looking around antique & second hand places- a trip to Reeds was also a great recommendation. Saffron Walden has many interesting streets & buildings to discover on foot plus an impressive church in the town centre.”
Comfy double room on the first floor. Home is in quiet village with good quick access (2-3 miles) to trains and motorway. A friendly chocolate Labrador lives at the property, and guests with a friendly dog are welcome. Audley End House, Imperial War Museum (Duxford) and and the historic town of Saffron Walden are within 5 miles of the property.
A renovated Stable block, situated just next to the beautiful period farm cottage and old grain store. Surrounded by rolling countryside, with public byways and footpaths for keen walkers. The stables have been converted into a spacious, bright studio apartment with everything you might need for a long or short stay.
“Every detail had been thought of to make our stay comfortable; the lighting, furnishings, layout, the scent, the products. Everything. The open plan design of this converted stable makes it feel very inclusive. The grocery touches in the kitchen made us feel home away from home with fresh eggs, milk, beers, soft drinks, biscuit and cereals available. We booked this with the objective of locking ourselves away for a couple of nights and avoid distractions of day to day life. This place was perfect. Lots of recommendations we’re given for restaurants/pubs etc and we visited the Fleur de Lys pub which was a 10 minute drive away. Large open fire, excellent hospitality from Chris and the team, wine and food was delicious ... and a cute quiz night on a Thursday! There is a pub walking distance (5 mins) on the opposite side of the road which is more of a restaurant than a pub and the proprietor Lee (or Leigh) was a lovely lady whom we exchanged stories with whilst there. Saffron Walden is 10 mins drive. Quaint village of a Thaxted is 5 mins away. Our entire experience was brilliant and Aaron and Sydney were extremely communicative despite us never meeting during our stay! Thank you. Hope to visit again. Gemma and Scott”
