If there ever was a paradise lost, never fret because you'll find it again here. A home away from home nestled amidst pristine pine and fern canopy hugged by the mountains - Rabten and his warm family made every bit of our stay in kalimpong a moment to cherish. We were properly spoiled with cooked food (sumptuous), spacious beds and copious rooms, a view to behold, misty mountain weather that transported us to a fantasy novel, a brilliant hall room to congregate and singalong. Rabten personally ensured we had all the right contacts and logistics sorted out for our sight seeing and transport. Rabten's mum was extremely generous to us, and kind. His crew were engaging and always available to help and assist. I would strongly recommend the homestay, and we definitely made friends here whom we want to visit again, soon!

We enjoyed our stay with our pets at the beautiful homestay. The house is very well maintained and overlooks a valley and a hill. The house has a beautiful garden also. The ambience of the place is very peaceful. Sujata, the owner, cooked tasty meals for us and our pet dogs. Overall a very enjoyable and comforting experience.

We went with our 11 month old baby and a 7 year old son. The place is great and the breakfast was home cooked and cooked with great love and warmth. There are a slew of delivery restaurants that you can order from if you want to stay in and soak the environment during lunch or at dinner time. The place is done tastefully. Amazing attention to detail; a home away from home. Just off the mall road so you can easily walk down. I wish I could have stayed for a day or two more. Sanjeev and Shalla are great hosts. Regards to them.

Gaff is an excellent place to spend a holiday. I stayed here for five days. Close to main market. Cabs are available from main market to here. Shops for food and drinks are also available in front of the property. Shiavat is a nice and cooperative person. The people around here are also very nice. Will definitely stay here again next time. The place was absolutely magical! The house was super cozy and good for a group stay. Prayag is an absolutely wonderful host and helps to take care of everything. The view from the place is beautiful , rooms are cozy and clean. Overall - good stay and Would definitely like to come back here :)

Stayed 3 days in the property.very peaceful place. 5 minutes walkable distance from Zoo.shrubbery national park is just above the property.neat and clean place. The property was same as was in the photos.Geyser,induction Heater, and all cooking untesils available at the property.Basin is connected with hot water.Will refer the other guest to this place.

I had an amazing stay thanks to Ramita ji and her amazing staffs especially Ganga who was very friendly and very proactive to make sure all our requirements where met. The view from the property is mesmerizing and the food is awesome. We got something unique, sometime special everyday. The property also has a lot of dogs which was great I was travelling with my pet as well. I had a wonderful stay at this cozy home! The space was warm, clean, and had a very comfortable, homely feel. Firstly, Rohan (Bidya mam's son) is a great host. His communication was proactive and hence quite helpful. Secondly, he went out of the way to help with my heavy luggage transfer from my cab to the building, considering I was travelling with a three year old. Thirdly, about the property, it was apt for us - my wife, my son and me. The apartment is right on main road so you don't need to walk uphill to access the same. Those travelling with kids will find it particularly comfortable. The place not only has a number of grocery shops and eateries around but is also close to Chaurasta market, Mahakal market, Rink mall and Darjeeling Himalayan Railway station. They also offer housekeeping every alternate day. Overall our stay was worth it.

We had a wonderful stay at Anirban's place. Although he stays elsewhere, he was always just a message away and incredibly helpful throughout our trip. From arranging transport to guiding us with local tips, his responsiveness made everything smooth and stress-free. The two house helps were absolutely lovely—always smiling, courteous, and ready to assist with anything we needed. They served us tea and meals exactly when and how we wanted, which made our stay feel extra special and homely. The house itself was cozy, clean, and beautifully maintained—perfect for a relaxing getaway. We especially appreciated the warm, inviting vibe of the place, and the peaceful surroundings were a bonus, toy train and the overall view was nice. It was a memorable experience thanks to Anirban and the house help, we felt truly taken care of. Here's a detailed review from our experience - The place was pretty easy to spot using GMaps and the guidance given by Mr Yougal. He's been extremely generous and hospitable throughout our stay. The house is equipped with possibly every utility one could think of. Every nook and corner has something to offer, extreme attention to detail. For instance, one can even find a large umbrella for those downpours (When you're not prepared! 😛). The living area is laden with items like snacks, tea, coffee, etc nicely tucked into the tight spaces. Location also is pretty central, one can easily find taxis to plan commutes anywhere in Darjeeling. Mr Yougal can help connect with friendly local cab drivers to plan any travel.

Fantastic place. Quiet (which was great as there was a festival on - rock- and this was out of the noise). The stroll into town was so enjoyable (note if walking is hard and being amongst the bustle is key then this might be a stretch). The views from two bedrooms are breathtaking- I’m not sure anywhere else would have this view. It was warm with lots of heating and hot water. Large kitchen. Large Lounge. Lots of places to be together or apart if you needed respite from each other. Very easy to communicate with. Everything works well.

My stay in Darjeeling was wonderful! Tenzing was an excellent host, and his staff was dependable. The place was spotless, with a fantastic location and stunning views.

Simply felt like a home away from home. Started off with a wonderful check-in experience, received a very warm welcome. They were always available for any help we required and always fulfilled all our requests. The food was great and had variety. The place was just as described in the listing and matched the photos as shown, with squeaky clean interiors, washroom and linens. They also went beyond just being a host and understood that we felt cooler due to the weather and provided us with warm water for drinking and hot water bags to warm the bed at night. The place is also at a great location at the heart of Mall, so be it hiring cabs for local sight seeing or restaurants it was always at finger tips. It’s opposite to the iconic Keventer’s hotel and very near to Glenary’s. Loved the overall experience and would definitely visit again.

We had an amazing 4-night stay at SHAIL-AALAY. The surroundings were incredibly peaceful, with no noise just the calmness of nature and a beautiful view from the balcony. It truly felt like a retreat away from the chaos of city life. A special mention to Uncle Pimba, who was always so responsive, warm, and helpful throughout our stay. His hospitality really made the experience even more memorable. Highly recommended for anyone looking to unwind and connect with nature.

The place was good from inside. The look of the building from outside may not seem appealing as it's an old apartment, perhaps from 1930s. But, the house is beautifully decorated in the inside and offers an amazing view of the Kanchenjunga from every room. We had the entire place to ourselves, so it offers privacy. Hemanto, the caretaker was very responsive and friendly. He was always available for all our queries and everything we needed. I can't really thank Marina, the helper, enough. She helped us with the chores. She kept the house squeaky clean. I traveled with three senior citizens, one of them couldn't travel most of the days and stayed in, Marina heated and served her the food we kept and stayed till she ate. There are a few cons: - There are forty steep stairs to climb. This should be highlighted instead of just mentioning in a sentence in the long description. - The bathroom ceiling in the first bedroom is broken and the bathroom stinks.

We had a pleasant stay and enjoyed it as a family. The surroundings were calm and relaxing. The wooden floors and warm lighting gave the room a cozy feel. We could cook for our little son, which was very convenient. The furniture was old—my child and I sank into the sofa and got hurt. Though the host fixed it after we informed them, we didn’t use it again out of caution. There was a guitar that matched the atmosphere, but one string was missing and it wasn’t tuned, so we avoided it. The window didn’t offer a proper view of the hills due to its position and nearby construction. However, the walls and photo frames were simple and elegant, giving off a nostalgic charm. A thoughtful touch was when the host gave a teddy bear to our son to play with the next day. Despite a few issues, it was a nice and memorable experience.

We booked our room through Airbnb, and our host, Pravash, was absolutely wonderful. He was incredibly polite, welcoming, and knowledgeable about the Darjeeling area. Pravash took the time to guide us with local tips and recommendations, which really helped us make the most of our trip.
