Stunning Cottage in Weardale

LeeRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Dave was a lovely host. Gave clear instructions which made for a stress free start to our stay. Thoughtful touches like milk in the fridge, biscuits and welcome card added to the warm welcome feeling. The cottage is superb, well appointed and functioned as expected. As a dog owner it was great to have use of an enclosed garden. The friendly local pub provided great evening meals. We will hopefully stay longer next time and look forward to exploring the area more thoroughly via some of the trails. We left the cottage feeling de-stressed, thank you! Highly recommended

Country house on edge of beautiful village

LeeRating, 5 stars7 months ago
A lovely home from home in a village with some of the friendliest people I’ve ever met. Ended up leasing a property near by because I loved it so much! Lindsay is a great host going that extra mile to make sure our stay was perfect and problem free.

Birch Bothy, peaceful rural retreat

LizzieRating, 5 stars2 months ago
A really lovely stay. Even though it’s early in the season we loved the herb garden just outside. The cowslips on the table and breakfast ingredients were a lovely touch. Shower had good heat and power. Woodburner was super easy to use with kindling, newspapers and logs provided. For those bringing food it has everything you need, but note there’s no oven. Microwave and hob cover an awful lot of cooking options though. There’s a small icebox in the fridge too. Overall a lovely stay, only one comment being that I think the bed is foldable and when I sat down hard once I though I was about to be folded into the bed which gave me a little shock 😂 Ross was great.

The exterior of a converted barn is showcased, constructed with natural stone and featuring a grey roof. A garden gate is visible beside a window, and flower beds are lined with decorative stones. Clear blue skies create a bright atmosphere around the cottage.

Acorn cottage was amazing, we stayed with our 2 dogs and instantly felt like home from home, lovely private garden. Fully equiped kitchen with everything you need, and stunning bathroom. Loved the log burner also, Amy and Mark were amazing hosts and always helpful, recommended local walks and places to visit. Already looking to book again.

Garden Cottage in tranquil North Pennine valley

A wonderful week’s stay in this beautiful place. We were made so welcome, the cottage and garden are definitely one of the best places we’ve ever stayed. Our dog was very happy here too. We especially loved the walk from the cottage to Hemel Cafe in Allenheads, following the stream. We look forward to our next visit!

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Very spacious, tastefully furnished and well equipped. Lots of great walks in the area and a nice pub just a few doors away. Great communication by Fiona and there are lots of guidebooks and information at the cottage for days out. Would definitely stay here again.

Stunning views nr Lake District, spacious & snug

SarahRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
What an absolutely stunning location! We wanted a relaxing break and this is exactly what we got. Vicki and Tom have created something really special. The Hayloft is small yet had everything we needed for a family of 5. There were plenty of books and games to enjoy. Vicki greeted us at the door, making us feel welcome and had left us some homemade treats. The kids had a blast, exploring the grounds, playing on the trampoline and climbing the nearby hill to catch a glimpse of the fighter jets flying overhead. There was a lovely walk to the river and you can roam freely over the fields. We enjoyed watching the sheep and horses roam and also saw deer, rabbits, frogs and kestrels. The house has a view of the Settle-Carlisle railway so we enjoyed a bit of train spotting too. There was so much to soak up before we even thought about heading out. The nearby town of Kirkby Stephen had plenty of shops and we enjoyed a meal from The Mango Tree Indian. We would 100% recommend a stay here!
