Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Craven County

We had a wonderful time at the railroad cottage. It is beautifully decorated, comfortable and in a great location. The host provided recommendations that were very helpful. If you are visiting New Bern, stay here!

Fantastic place, really feels like a home and not a generic rental place. The kitchen is stocked with every appliance you could ever think of. The train running out front is great for kids (runs daytime on weekdays only). Beds are massive and comfortable, the house is well insulated and fairly soundproofed, and the side porch is great for coffee and people watching. Location is great, right on the edge of all the restaurants and bars with an open grassy area on one side and quiet neighbor on the other. Highly recommend!

We loved our stay here. We all felt right at home. The location can't be beat - only 5 minutes by car to downtown New Bern and all of the sights. This is a nice historic neighborhood and we enjoyed time on the big front porch and the back porch. I really appreciated that there were LOTS of Keurig pods, including decaf! No need to buy coffee although there was also a standard coffee pot in the cabinet if you have a different preference. There was one comment in our group that the downstairs bed was too soft for her preference but that everything else was perfect. The upstairs bed was perfect for us. The little nook in the front of the upstairs hallway was a great place for a book and morning coffee while everyone else was still sleeping. This home has a great combination of spaces for time together and apart. Kitchen had everything we needed. And we appreciated having access to local channels to watch the NCAA championship. You really can't go wrong with this beautiful home!

We had a wonderful stay! Papa's Hideaway was perfect for my husband and I with our two boys. The accommodations were beautiful, clean and comfortable. Having access to the creek just outside the cottage was a huge bonus - the boys entertained themselves for hours and we were able to relax on the porch while keeping an eye on them. Definitely recommend and we will be back!

For the second Memorial Day weekend in a row, this home, accommodations, host interaction was awesome!!! Beautiful sunset after great golf at nearby Fairfield Harbor!!!

Great location, not a high traffic area but close to a lot of businesses. Comfy home feel.

Absolutely incredible value for the location! Within walking distance to Harris Teeter, which was incredibly helpful for our family of six. It was honestly even better than the pictures and was incredibly clean. They were incredibly helpful and accommodated an early check-in for us after our 12 Hour drive which truly incredible. Our kids loved it and didn't want to leave! We loved the book of recommendations of local attractions and the fact it was within 10 minutes to everything we wanted to do. WiFi was super fast! Tons of towels! 10/10

We were in New Bern for our granddaughters wedding & Amelia Grove (the venue) suggested this listing. It was 4 minutes away. This home was immaculate & very comfortable. When we arrived, the wifi & tv's weren't working & we contacted the owner, at 8pm on the Saturday night before Memorial Day. He came out after contacting internet provider, left & went to get a new modum (45 minutes) roundtrip & spent a total of 2 & a half hours to make sure we were good. Listing pictures didn't include the pool table in garage, the groom & groomsmen & their dads were able to get ready before the wedding & had a great afternoon & will have great memories. We would certainly return when we return to New Bern. The adjustable bed was a definite plus. Also, kitchen has pretty much anything you might need. Our two pups were very comfortable.

Our stay has been great! We needed to be close by base for the SunDown Event on Cherry Point. We absolutely loved the cleanliness and the space it provided for us. Brian was very responsive when it came to our arrival and understanding of our long travel from Florida. Look forward to booking there again soon!

Exceeded my expectations! Extremely clean! Comfortable bed! Loved the wall art and small touches; had everything that I needed- It was the perfect size for me. Great neighborhood! Walkable in minutes to water, downtown and Tryon Palace! Well maintained, any issue had a quick response and resolution. Stayed for four months. I want to but the apartment!

Wonderful stay, very peaceful

Mary Jane's place was wonderful for my wife's and my stay. There were clear instructions on how to access the upstairs loft to their garage. We had everything we needed to be comfortable during our weekend stay there. It is walking distance to the downtown area, and extremely close to a couple of breweries and restaurants.

I really enjoyed my stay! Sara was great at communicating and has a lovely space!

The condo was perfect for our needs, in a lovely area, clean, with everything we needed for the meals we prepared there. Having the recreation center available to us with its indoor pool and hot tub and outdoor pool was an added bonus. We didn't have time to take advantage of other offerings there for fun and exercise. All staff were very pleasant and helpful. This was my first experience using airbnb. Brooke was very prompt in answering all of my questions and I can highly recommend booking a stay at one of her locations.

Christine was friendly and responsive, and the condo was lovely, just like the pictures. Everything was neat and tidy. The kitchen was TRULY well stocked, with quality cookware, bakeware, spices, etc., such that making a meal was really doable. A comfy bed. A decent selection of books. A few puzzles and games. Overall, a good experience in a condo that I would visit again. I highly recommend sitting in the chair swing on the deck, overlooking the marina, enjoying a book and a beverage!

Ann was a great host, and this place is a perfect stop in New Bern! It's about 15 or 20 minutes from most of the main activities, and I had a wonderful time crossing the bridge to get around. The space was clean and orderly, and well stocked with coffees and teas. The bed was comfortable and felt clean, and the additional seating was a nice touch. In all, id definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a nice place to stay just out of the main city!

Great place to stay! My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights, playing golf at Harbour pointe and exploring downtown new Bern on day 1, and then touring tryon palace, playing disc golf, and enjoying the amenities on property on day 2. Sara’s is a great dinner spot nearby for dine in or pick up!

This place is very well appointed - anything you might need was there! It's a lovely space, nicely decorated in an oceanside theme, spotlessly clean, with comfortable furniture and a comfortable bed. The owner offered access to a nearby recreation center, and we would have loved to but it was very much a working weekend for us and we did not have time to take advantage of that. There's plenty of parking available and getting in was quick and easy. Highly recommended and would rent again next time we need a place in the area!

My family & I had a great stay, beautiful home with everything we needed. Dawn was very responsive and helpful. We saw lots of deer and squirrels, moon over the river was beautiful. A great retreat after beach days and running around New Bern.

This place is was amazing!! It had everything we needed and the town was great! Easy access to a lot of places near by, the town is friendly and we had many places to choose from for food, and drinks. Most definitely will be back highly recommend
