This unique place has a style all its own. It’s an open concept studio for two on the “quietside” of Mount Desert Island. This cozy, newly constructed nook is the perfect place to rest your head after exploring all our island has to offer! Note, there is no oven or cooktop. Your kitchenette will provide a sink, refrigerator, toaster, microwave and coffee maker. Your studio is the downstairs to the owners apartment, both with their own entrance and shares a driveway with my other rental.

Located on the west (“quiet") side of Mount Desert Island, 2 minutes from Acadia National Park hiking trails, Echo Lake Beach, downtown Southwest Harbor; 25 minutes to Bar Harbor. Our location is beautiful and quiet, surrounded by woods. This apartment is on the 2nd level; it offers privacy: your own driveway, exterior entrance and patio area all to yourself! It feels secluded. 2024: new deck and heat pump (air conditioning, no humidity!) make it better than ever this year!

Classic cottage on Little Cranberry Island

This was my 6th visit ( since 2011) to this large but intimate house which immediately delivers to guests a myriad of beautiful delights to the senses and they range from awe of the classic majestic Maine panorama: water, mountains, and waterway life ( boats/ birds/ berries and shores) to the thrill of finding fine but accessible old books and a variety of art, chaises, fine tableware and exquisite deep bathtubs all of which deliver intense relaxation. The house is as delightful in which to wander as the easy island paths and in any weather, the corners of the house as comfortable as the intersections and nooks on Islesford itself. All old, but somehow upbeat and inviting without pretense or deliberate decor or manicure - house and its setting completely natural while rare and representing peacefulness.

This Airbnb is like something out of a storybook. It is beautifully decorated with lovely antiques, and also squeaky clean! The light and ambiance is gorgeous. Janet was so kind and responsive. The location was great, and the property itself was enchanting. We were sad to leave and hope to stay with Janet again!

The two-story house features a wraparound porch with decorative trim, surrounded by lush greenery and a well-kept garden. Vintage bicycles are parked nearby, adding to the inviting outdoor atmosphere. A seating area is visible on the lawn, providing space for relaxation.

We love the Sea Glass house! There’s many small details we really appreciate about it- the good stock of paper towels and toilet paper, the baby gate for the steep stairs at night, fans everywhere, a fun activities closet and most of all the different options for coffee brewing. The porch is our favorite place to spend mornings listening to the bell buoy chime and the boats steaming by the island. We also really enjoyed the “yoga room” which we used our iPad to do a workout and the WiFi still worked out there! We look forward to returning soon!

Amazing place and hospitable hosts. My family and I loved the yurts and glamping feeling. Note all cooking (except toasting) is done outside. We're campers so this was fine, though the microwave outside was not expected. We really enjoyed the lawn games and the nightly fire as well. A great location, quiet and away from the rest of the tourists. Except that one loud rooster every morning. Though I did enjoy the fresh eggs daily.
