The Garden House at Hungerton

MaryRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
As soon as we saw the Garden House we relaxed straight away, it is a perfect place to unwind and enjoy the beautiful scenery and birds. Isabel’s handbook had lots of information and great instructions to walk around the estate and meet the sheep. The welcome pack was superb! Thankyou! We slept so well with the bird song waking us. We did venture out but it was great to get back to the comfort of the Garden house. I met Isabel who is a wonderful lady. We do hope to be back again Mary and David

Enclosed garden, footpath walk to Rutland Water

EmRating, 5 stars2 days ago
The place is absolutely gorgeous—picturesque, spotless, and perfect for the three of us. The location is ideal, with a nearby footpath that provides easy access to Rutland Water. It’s also just a short drive to both Oakham and Stamford, and there’s a charming pub within walking distance. The property offers off-road parking for two cars and feels very secure. The front garden is a real sun trap and a lovely spot to relax. Inside, the cottage is beautifully decorated, with clean and well-thought-out spaces. The kitchen is well equipped, even including cleaning products and washing-up supplies. On arrival there was local bread and milk which was a nice touch. The bathrooms were spotless—we loved the wallpaper in the loo. The bedrooms suited our needs perfectly. It was very hot during our stay, but the cottage stayed cool downstairs, which was ideal! We really enjoyed our stay with Richard and Joanna and would definitely return!

The Old Bookshop

MelanieRating, 5 stars1 day ago
The photos do not do the place justice. It has been beautifully curated and we were endlessly fascinated by all of the little touches. I spent several hours selecting the books and inserting their replacements that i had bought with me. Tea coffee and milk was gratefully provided as well as many other helpful items. Uppingham itself is a peaceful small town with lots of great eateries, we ate at Don Paddy's in the market square which was absolutely delicious and another night at the Chinese restaurant opposite the co-op which was a lovely meal as well. Pauline was an extremely friendly host and delightful company. Would love to stay again. Thank you Pauline.

Luxury rural retreat near Rutland water

Lisa and her family were very welcoming. Description of property very accurate, very comfy / cosy stay. Entrance to location a little difficult to pull in and pull out, but does not mark down. Family dogs, and farm animals all very exciting and friendly, Lisa was wonderful with our toddler and happy to show and tell the animals. Will return for our next trip past!

Perfect cottage in a beautiful village: peaceful and accommodating! The cottage has comfortable beds, lovely bathroom and everything looks perfect! We stopped over as I was working in Corby and so we felt very rested and ready to go! Lovely touches with milk and bottled water, and crisis, cereal and snack bars! Lovely!
A unique console table made from bicycle wheels supports a wooden tabletop. Two window panes with decorative glass provide a soft glow, while a clock and various decorative items are placed on the table. The rustic wooden floor complements the overall design.

Cottage near Rutland Water

The cottage was beautifully decorated and lovely to stay. We even did have a Christmas tree. Loved having our morning tea in the conservarory and sitting against the fireplace in the evenings. We found everything we needed in the kitchen. Caroline was easily available when I needed to contact her. We appreciated the opportunity of staying at this pretty cottage.
