Vacation rentals with lake access in Cook County

We have been visiting Lusten and Northshore on a regular basis, but this time was extraordinary due to the perfect location and space in the cabin. We experienced one of the most spectacular sunrises over Lake Superior, right at the edge of the water and enjoyed a peaceful evening on the deck overlooking the vast lake. The wood burning fireplace, the focal point of the leaving room, created a very cozy atmosphere and ambience. The kitchen was very spacious and well equipped for preparing meals and gathering around for a glass of wine.

We visit the North Shore every year and this was our first time on the beach, though rocky, of Superior. And boy were we right in the beach. Gorgeous views, sounds and smells. We were there right after a storm and the host was very proactive about a fallen tree and communicated right away. The house is clean, private and warm. We were there in a cold weather snap! We got to bring our pup too and it felt just like home. The water situation takes some getting used to, but ultimately is the same as going for a swim. So we all do it. The views and privacy are well worth. We will be back next year!

This was our second time at Deidra’s Tofte home, and if possible - it was even more magical than our first time. Not only is she an amazing host - we basically planned our itinerary around all her wonderful recommendations - but this house is just a gem on the north shore. Well stocked, better than photos, and pristine views of the lake each day. We’ll be back again and again 😊

This house is in Hovland on the North Shore (relatively close to the Canadian border), and the view from the house of Lake Superior is breathtaking. You can just sit there and enjoy it. The home is well-equipped, with a lovely wood-burning fireplace (it made an especially lovely aroma in the house). We also liked the charming river bordering the property, it's literally a small river going through which gives more feelings of wilderness. Easy access to Grand Marais, Lutsen, and Grand Portage, and also to abundant hiking trails, which we really enjoyed.

Amazing place to stay, that is private and not too far from the lake and town. Kids didn’t want to leave this place! Would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the Lutsen area!

Very beautiful and comfortable place and setting. Near to Grand Marais but removed from the city. Plenty of room for the 6 of us. Kitchen was well equipped. Host had recommendations that were helpful. We explored East and West from Grand Marias so it was a good location for us. We were all pleased and would stay again. Worth the 8 hour drive. Thank you. I’m so grateful for our time at Anna’s place. The puzzle and game wall kept us busy during the evenings and our kids really enjoyed the loft with the toys. We spent so much time enjoying rock hunting on the private beach and dinner around the campfire. The location was perfect, 10 minutes from Judge C Magney State Park and just a few minutes from town. We had 6 in our group and had plenty of space and extra beds. I couldn’t recommend it enough.

Harbor Studio at Northern Goods was the perfect home base for my travels in and around Grand Marais.... Central location made for quick access to shops and restaurants in town. Also, offered proximity to countless adventures in Superior National Forest, Grand Portage, and other Cook County gems.... Lake-facing windows with background sound of waves made even downtime feel like a treasured experience on special Grand Marais holiday.

It was a wonderful experience and I am so glad that we were able to stay here! A great getaway and the view was incredible! Very comfortable and very nice hosts! Thank you!!

Not reflecting on the owners of the unit but the door leading to the deck was below our room. The door thudded loudly when it was open and closed.

Beautiful spot in GM - watched the lake from the picture window overlooking the bay. Very walkable to great food and shopping and a great home base force hikes, bikes, and adventures …also enjoyed the lawn furniture in the shade of pretty tree. I loved every minute of my 2 week stay.

The condo was well stocked with items necessary for a rental. It is convenient to many areas of interest and it provides a lot of amenities. Pool, sauna, hot tub, pool table, ping pong, and areas outdoors for sitting or exploring. Owner was very quick to respond to messages. Great place with plenty of sleeping areas. Owner also provided ideas for dining and for things to do. Highly recommend!

We loved our stay here. The view of Lake Superior was amazing! Loved that it had a pool and hot tub, plus had a game room with pool table, ping pong and darts. Also had a nice common area with couches, chairs, tables. Detailed instructions on arrival and how to get in. Thank you!!

Mitch and Kevin were excellent hosts. Perfect location for everything Grand Marais has to offer. The shared kitchen and living space was very cozy and the other group staying were friendly and respectful. Beds were comfortable, and they provided a dog bed for my pup that he loved! The only watch out is the seagulls. There was one nesting on the roof of the building that dive-bombed me and my dog a few times when we stepped outside. This is apparently a common thing in Grand Marais so would likely happen anywhere, but good to be aware of! Would absolutely stay again!
