Lake houses in Claytor Lake

We had a lovely experience in our little cottage. Everything was neat and clean. Right after we arrived, a deer walked by. There is a very nice park at the end of the street. Our dogs loved walking and sniffing everywhere. The view of the lake and mountains is peaceful. People fished and picnicked . There is a pier. I saw people boating, and riding on wave runners. Draper Mercantile is nearby. The menu is tasty and there is a variety of coffees, beer and wine available. Right there is an ice cream shop called Conerys. A bike trail is right there by Draper’s.

Sam's house is super cute, well laid out and very clean. The NRV trail is right across the road and very nice to hike with family, the water views are beautiful and it was very peaceful. We would definitely stay again when we come back to the mountains!

The house was spacious, had a fantastic game room enjoyed by all ages, and the view was spectacular! We had everything we needed for an enjoyable time, and campus was easily accessed by backroads, with little traffic. We’d definitely book again. the house is in a great location and the private beach and dock were amazing! the house has rustic charm and all the amenities you could need. Henry was a great host - quick go communicate and provided lots of clear details about our stay as well as helpful information about things to do in the area! this vacation was a perfect mix of acitivity and relaxation. we would definitely stay here again!

We had a great stay at the lake house. There was a private dock located very close and a swim area just a couple minutes down the road. The house had beautiful views and was well stocked with everything we needed for the week!

We had such a wonderful time! The home was clean and beautiful, plenty to do there at the home and in the surrounding areas. Even with the many homes on the street, it felt private and relaxing the entire weekend. The host, Joe, was also so friendly! He gave us a tour when we got there, was extremely helpful, and he even helped us start our fire in the fire pit when he saw we were struggling. Wonderful place, great hospitality, would absolutely book this place again! Thank you Joe!

We had a great time. The home is beautiful and the view of the lake is awesome. Luis was very accommodating and communicative with us while we were there. He is a great host and I would highly recommend renting from him!! We had a fun time celebrating our son’s graduation from Virginia Tech!!

For peace and quiet in a beautiful location, this is your spot. Great accommodations within an easy drive of Sparta and West Jefferson for small town attractions with genuinely nice people. Recommend bringing fishing rod for the pond and binoculars for wildlife sightings. Use Google maps instead of Waze for the address for ease of initial arrival. We’ll definitely be repeat guests!

This was the most relaxing, peaceful and carefree weekend we have ever had. My husband and our 2 kids and 2 dogs had the most fun, and we didn’t even feel the need to be on our phones or watch tv! The cabin felt like home; so much so, that we didn’t want to leave. My husband and I are already planning a trip back. Carey was an amazing hostess and we are so appreciative that she opened her home to us. The views were breathtaking. We literally sat outside all weekend. We only went inside to cook and sleep. Oh! And we got to enjoy a meteor shower Saturday night! Super awesome!! And, even cooler, there’s a dollar general market at the end of the main road! Coolest thing I’ve ever seen! So you don’t need to bring a bunch of food! We drove 5 hours to come stay here, and honestly, I would drive 10 just to come back. This cabin was every bit of home and we can’t wait to come back!

The Lover’s Nest is just as described. It was a perfect, peaceful getaway with the outdoor areas only adding to the charm and oasis feel of the place! We will definitely be coming back to the The Lover’s Nest in the future

We had a splendid time! The reviews are accurate- it’s a wonderful place with access to a clean pond for swimming and boating. We had a great time relaxing at the pond, hiking the trail, seeing the bunnies, visiting Chateau Morrisette nearby, and watching movies and fixing meals at home. The house was so comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed. Very kid and dog friendly as advertised! Georgia and Dave are great hosts and we’d love to go back!

Stayed May 26-June 1. Perfect cabin for 4 people. We drove our RAM truck hauling 2 Harley bikes. The yard is big enough to accommodate. The driveway is gravel but it wasn’t too uphill. We encountered few problems and Ms. Jill answered all our questions and helped with the situation. She’s a phenomenal host! She’s very responsive, and accommodating to our issues. Complete amenities. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided. We did brought our own ( we always do). We cooked breakfast for three days and cooked some steaks on the griddle outside on our 2nd night. Washed our clothes, laundry supplies provided. Great WiFi connection. We rode our bikes to the mountains. If you love to ride, you won’t regret staying here! 5 star review. Definitely recommended!

This retreat is even better than the description and photos. It is extremely private, surrounded by the woods and rolling hills of Floyd county--exactly what we were hoping for! The yurt was beyond our expectations, or even hopes. It's furnished with everything you need for a stay of a weekend or more, and somehow there's still a ton of space. We wanted for literally nothing. We visited the creek twice, and Gabe (our Pyrenees) loved playing in the water and running around the shore. The yurt is very dog friendly, and Gabe loved the duck jerky Jessica had left for us. The weather was a _little_ uncooperative, so we didn't get to enjoy the deck or firepit like we'd hoped in the evening, but the accommodations were so outstanding we barely noticed. I can't recommend high enough--my only reluctance is that more people might discover this gem and we aren't able to find open dates on the calendar to book it again soon!

On our way home from Florida, had never been to Radford area before other than staying on the interstate nearby. The cabin is in a quiet neighborhood close to everything, inside is very large with a second bedroom upstairs, large kitchen and comfortable living room. Very clean and quiet, it's only a half mile or so to several bars and restaurants. The host was terrific, left us check in early, gave us recommendations for restaurants a bargain compared to hotel rooms. We will definitely stay here again.

The chain is as advertised, the sunrises were great. we had a rainy weekend but the views were still fantastic. 100% would recommend. just be aware, the driveway is no joke; Given the house is literally on the side of a mountain, it makes sense, but there will be part of going into and out of the driveway where you cant see the road over your hood due to the angle. this is not a knock on the property, nor the owner. We will not hesitate to stay here again even knowing this.

We loved staying.. wish we could have stayed longer! Everything was cozy and clean and homey!
