VaishaliRating, 5 stars5 months ago
We had a pleasant stay at the Asura hotel. It is a brand new spacious hotel with beautiful view of Thimphu. The host always responded to my messages on time. Also, he came to meet us personally when we had some issues with our dinner arrangements.
A view showcases landscaped greenery in the foreground, with an open road and parked vehicles. In the background, two distinct architectural styles are visible, featuring traditional Bhutanese design elements on one side and a modern white building on the other.

4. Comfortable Modern Hotel in Thimphu

DebolinaRating, 5 stars66 months ago
Clean room, lovely host and a beautiful location. Despite being very close to the tuorist spots, immigration office and eateries, it's a bit away from the din and noise. We walked to all the tourist attractions from the hotel except Buddha Dordenma. Highly recommend this place to people visiting Thimpu.
Wooden tables are arranged in a cozy dining area, complemented by light-colored chairs. Large windows reveal a view of the night sky, while plants in pots add a touch of greenery. Soft lighting from overhead fixtures creates a calming ambiance.

Cozy Suite (4 guest) @ UV INN

ShazwinRating, 5 stars1 month ago
A Hidden Gem in Thimphu – Highly Recommended! Staying at UV Inn was honestly one of the highlights of our trip to Bhutan! The host was incredibly warm and welcoming – going above and beyond to make sure we well taken care of and felt more like a friend than just a guest. We are female traveler and they helped arrange a local guide and logistics at a very affordable rate, which made exploring Thimphu, Paro and Punakha stress-free. And there’s nothing better being served a hot cup of homemade chai before starting your day while enjoying great company (your own peace and they totally respect your privacy too!). The room was cozy and clean with a stunning view of the hills opposite, that serene scenery was such a treat. It's just near Thimphu Welcome Gate, so you get to enjoy the calm, peaceful vibes away from the noise, but still close enough for a quick trip into town. Honestly, if you're looking for a place with heart, comfort, with touch of Bhutanese hospitality-this is the place :)
A spacious outdoor area is visible, featuring a flat surface surrounded by trees and shrubs. In the foreground, two individuals dressed in colorful attire engage in traditional dance, while others are seated on benches, enjoying the atmosphere. The building in the background has large windows that allow natural light to fill the interior.

Zhuochen lodge/home garden lodge

VaishnaviRating, 5 stars75 months ago
This is a very spacious, clean space to spend in Paro. The hosts are hospitable though we didn't have much time to talk with them due to our busy schedules. The rooms are comfortable and the heater is good to have as it was cold for us. The view is also very beautiful from the rooms. The dinner was a bit disappointing - we had ordered for soup, paneer and rotis which took more than 1 hour to prepare only to find that the soup was a packet soup and paneer and roti were just about ok. The breakfast was nice though a bit expensive for the quantity served. The hosts were gracious to accompany us to the annual festival and let us be a part of it with them as our driver was unable to find parking. They patiently explained the significance of the festival and that helped a lot. They also were generous to drive us back to the lodge. We wish we had more time there. We would recommend at least 3 days stay if you want to experience the place properly.
A traditional Bhutanese farmhouse displays intricate wooden carvings and vibrant murals on its exterior. The structure features multiple windows with wooden lattices, and the surrounding landscape includes rolling hills and lush greenery. The roof is extended to provide shade at the entrance.

Punakha Beautiful Heritage Homestay

Great stay in an authentic Bhutanese homestead. Sangay was a most gracious and hospitable host. We enjoyed our wonderful, home cooked meals and the chance to engage in conversation with both Sangay and her mother.
A brown horse grazes in a golden field, with dry crops visible in rows. In the background, a large building with multiple stories and traditional architecture stands among trees, against a backdrop of green hills.

Experience living in Bhutan

My stay at Jetsun's place was comfortable and she was very kind and helpful. Jetsun offered to pick me up from the airport on the day of my arrival and also dropped me to the airport on the day of my departure. A very good and careful driver! She even drove me to some of the places around Paro. I enjoyed my stay at Jetsun's place. I would recommend anyone who would visit Paro to opt for her place to stay at.
A corridor is lined with wooden paneling, featuring light-colored walls and a smooth floor. Wooden doors lead to private rooms, while soft lighting creates an inviting atmosphere throughout the space.

Yangkey Villa

LarsRating, 5 stars8 months ago
First of all: Tashi and his family are extremely nice and helpful people and communication before and after arrival was great. The place is in Bondey village - a bit before Paro town but very close to the airport. It is a Bed and Breakfast more than a traditional home stay and there is a huge living room for the guests. There are shops and a few basic restaurants around. All in all a great place to stay in the Paro Valley. Will definitely choose same place if I return.
A spacious sleeping area features a wooden bed with a plush white duvet. Soft lighting highlights the warm wooden ceiling and floor, while traditional wooden accents add character. A cozy seating area is visible in the background, creating a serene atmosphere for relaxation.

I had an incredible stay at Access Suites in Thimphu. Chimi was a wonderful host, always ensuring that every aspect of my visit was comfortable and enjoyable. The staff were friendly and attentive going out of their way to take care of all my needs. The rooms are well-appointed, blending traditional Bhutanese elements with modern themes, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The entire building has a beautiful, traditional touch that really enhances the experience of staying in Bhutan. And the food – absolutely delicious! I was able to enjoy some of the best Bhutanese dishes during my stay. Highly recommend Access Suites for an unforgettable stay in Thimphu.
