We enjoyed our stay very much The home was clean and very welcoming A little fewer away from the beach than we usually stay but very peaceful We rented Golf Carts which the whole family enjoyed The host thought of details that made us feel "Right at Home" The home is Beautiful and wonderfully decorated with plenty of linens in the bathroom to a nice welcome basket Hope to stay again soon

I could make this really long but I’ll keep it short and sweet! I needed an impromptu retreat near salt air and big water and this little cottage was the perfect cozy get away. Enough space for entertaining a few people but also small enough to not feel overwhelmed by space when I was alone. Loved the quiet neighborhood. Didn’t feel like anything was missing. So grateful for that moment of peace and quiet in a very comfortable environment.

The accommodations were great. I would recommend this place to anyone. They checked on us to make sure we needed anything and a contact number to reach them. The house was clean and the beds were comfortable to sleep in. I would stay here again the next time I visit.

The house was clean when we arrived the ammenites were excellent. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed our stay. I would like to book this house again for a future trip.

What a lovely, cared-for home in a quiet neighborhood, within driving distance of anything we wanted. We had everything we needed, as well as responsive, helpful hosts. It was ideal for a toddler, parents, and grandparents. Thanks so much for being able to help us out when our other reservation fell through at the last minute- we ended up in a place that was perfect and so much better than our original plan would have been!

Perfect place for a girl's weekend bachelorette trip! We kept joking that we felt like we were in Bridgeton. We loved the decor and spacious rooms which are perfect for cozy late-night chats! The hot tub and porches were wonderful for taking in the gorgeous views of the river. We loved sitting and watching the swans, deer, and otter. Brooke and her husband were kind and welcoming; truly wonderful hosts who went above and beyond for us to make sure we had a great time! We left the weekend feeling relaxed and refreshed, and we're already ready to come back for more! Thanks again!

Exactly what I was looking for. No frills place to stay. Would stay again.

So very peaceful. Loved watching the birds fly off an on to the neighboring pier. Fit our needs perfectly and with the well stocked kitchen we were able to prepare our Thanksgiving meal.

The real definition of hidden gem! This place is wonderful and has everything you need (plus the fur husky friend). Just be aware that depending on your trip purpose it might fit you or not. We stay here but with the idea of spending the weekend/daytime at Colonial Beach not at King George. We didn’t explored KG so can’t say how much it has. Anyway, great place to stay and short drive to everything around. We will definitely repeat without hesitation.

We primarily chose this for easy access to the town. Numerous restaurants, cafes, and shops are just a few minutes walk. A nice view of the river and backed up to a wooded hill made this both private and easily accessible. Friendly hosts and very responsive to questions we had. Would stay again!

This place could not be more perfect for our trip to DC. It was the perfect distance to the metro. Our group of 8 had so much space of our own, yet plenty of room to be together in the common spaces and not be on top of each other! We went in the coldest month of the year, so unfortunately we didn’t get to experience the best of what the outdoor areas had to offer but the views were breathtaking regardless. Melanie’s place was extremely clean and everything was provided and then some! Everyone in our group would like to go back in warmer months to spend more time outside. Before we got there, Melanie explained that there was an issue with one of the sinks in the cabins and said she would credit us accordingly. I thought that was great! It did not hinder or create a problem whatsoever! I hope we get to make it back sometime!

The location couldn’t have been better—just a short walk to the beach, great restaurants, and some awesome local breweries. Close to everything but still peaceful and relaxing. The place was spotless and cozy, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. We especially loved relaxing by the firepit in the evening—it made the stay even more special. The host’s hospitality was top-notch—friendly, responsive and thoughtful. They made us feel so welcome and taken care of. We had such a great time and can’t wait to come back!

This was an incredible stay — the property is absolutely beautiful and so peaceful! We were constantly in awe of the nature and how expansive the land is. We loved using the bikes to explore, the pool was absolutely amazing, and the sitting areas by the numerous ponds were perfect for relaxing and having a picnic. During our stay, we looked up more about the area and found that this is the historic Woodlawn Plantation, which has a history tied to slavery. That’s something we hadn’t realized beforehand, and we took time for moments of reflection out of respect for that history. It would have been meaningful to see that acknowledged on-site. Overall, this was a beautiful stay, and Gerri was so incredibly helpful and very easy to talk to ☺️.
