Cottage vacation rentals in Charente

For a few days we were able to enjoy the beauty and comfort of this cottage, located in the heart of a very charming area, as well as the kindness of its owners, Kenneth and Jan. We would highly recommend it and will gladly stay again.

We had the pleasure of staying in one of Meg and Mark’s gîtes with our 2 teenage daughters for 4 nights. I had no hesitation in booking the gite having seen how beautiful it looked on the website and reading the glowing reviews both on the website and on Airbnb. On arrival we received a warm welcome from Meg and Mark who showed us around the gîte and the grounds. The gîte itself is just beautiful. It is absolutely spotless and exceptionally well equipped. The beds were super comfortable made even better by the high quality bedding. The grounds and gardens are very well kept and the pool is stunning with great views of the surrounding countryside - it was a big hit as was the hot tub in our private garden! To top it off, Meg and Mark are the most fantastic warm, friendly and welcoming hosts but always respectful of our privacy. Thank you Meg and Mark for a truly memorable few days and for your fantastic hospitality. Chez Lussaud is an absolute gem and is a credit to you!

We absolutely loved our stay in this charming gite. The hosts, Samantha and Jamie were so very friendly and welcoming. They made our stay very enjoyable. The gite was spotless, well equipped, very comfortable and had 2 outdoor areas to relax and admire the pretty garden. We enjoyed it so much we would love to visit again. An unforgettable stay at the Manoir Souché, We had an absolutely magical time, the setting is exceptional, perfect for unwinding. Between the sauna, the jacuzzi, the pool and the games for children, everything is designed for relaxation and fun, both for adults and children! The hosts were adorable, available, and caring. You can feel that they put their heart into providing a great experience. No downsides to report. We'll be happy to go back!

We had a fabulous week in this little hidey hole in a beautiful location with wonderful hosts. Alicia’s cooking is to die for along with Michael’s burgers and both Alicja and Michal were attentive, helpful and happy to look after us. Would thoroughly recommend.

Thank you for a very relaxing stay. We found the gîte to be exactly as described, with all the amenities needed. The area is very pretty and we enjoyed exploring for the few days we were here. Peaceful and pretty area.

Amanda and Robin were great hosts and the gite was gorgeous. We loved the quiet surroundings and a quick drive to a couple of great restaurants. We were met by his beautiful dogs on arrival making us feeling immediately welcome, followed by Gideon who welcomed us like we were part of the family. Gideon and his wife couldn’t have done enough, always being around for a chat, or just for a quick wave and smile. This truly is the most peaceful and beautiful setting to escape the reality of city life. The house its self was beautiful with vaulted ceilings and exposed original brick, they have got the perfect balance of rustics and contemporary. We couldn’t fault a thing and whoever gets to stay here next, is sure to love it just as much as we did!

Had a very nice week in this beautiful place with our two young children (3 & 6 years). Beautiful garden to play in and lovely swimming pool and also the cottage is very spacious and cozy.

What can I say! Katie and Matt's hospitality is exceptional. They were super flexible and met all our needs without us even having to ask. The small meals and breakfasts are a very appreciable plus, and it was delicious. A welcome that we will not forget. We will be back!

Thank you so much Carla and Sam, for our wonderful stay. the property is modern and well equipped, in beautiful and expansive grounds. our children loved the donkeys and the playground, and it was wonderful to be able to use the swimming pool when the weather got hot! We would definitely recommend to others and would stay again.

We were able to spend a family weekend in a mill that met our expectations despite exceptionally rainy weather for the season. The comfort and generous interior space were able to replace the lack of sun. The bedrooms and bathrooms are very comfortable. Only the kitchen seems a little tight for about fifteen people, especially in bad weather, but the presence of the 2 large refrigerators was appreciated. It was a beautiful time . Monique G
