Pembrokeshire Coast Workhouse @AlbroCastle

OwenRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Pete and Tracy are fantastic hosts of a unique stay. The history behind the place is fascinating, and is still there to be seen. From wallpaper to rock-sorting plates from workhouse to guesthouse, it's all still there for you to see and feel. We enjoyed brilliant weather, so made the most of local walks, beaches and some outside dining at great local restaurants. I'm sure we'll be back. 10/10

Wildernest - Ty Twt

EleanorRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
This was a wonderfully peaceful and cocooning place to stay. We had a fantastic few days at the aptly named Wildernest and could not fault a thing. Our kids loved the space the roam, the animals, the trampoline and discovering the toys and games in the barn. We slept very well on very comfortable mattresses and left feeling restored and refreshed. Many thanks to the hosts for having us.

Aberdar Country Cottage and Cinema Cabin

MarianaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We had a fantastic week at Aberdar. The weather was amazing all week, so we spent our time outside enjoying the garden, orchard and stream, and sitting at the various seating areas to avoid the wind if it got too strong. We only made 3 trips away from Aberdar.. a stunning part of Wales and it was hard to put the camera down. A pleasure to drive on the pothole free roads and we hardly saw anyone apart from friendly farmers. Our anxious rescue dog was very happy enjoying the space and he was relaxed all week, as were we. Aberdar has it all.. very clean and homely, very well equipped with everything we needed, useful information file provided for guests, beautiful views and loved hearing the sheep, cows and stream. If you are tall, remember to duck when going through the doorways.. we kept forgetting! This was a very special trip for us and we will be returning!

Award- winning hideaway in the hills

TimRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Staying at Cae’r Beili in April was magical. Meryl was friendly and warm as she introduced us to the beautiful converted barn. The air was full of the sounds of sheep and their lambs with easy viewing from the lovely glass-enclosed sunroom. Looking out across the Carmarthenshire hills is a soothing experience and we enjoyed a long walk through the fields to the waterfall and back. The accommodations worked very well for our family (two children and four adults, one with limited mobility). If you want to experience the heart of rural Wales I highly recommend coming to Cae'r Beili - you may experience a little "hiraeth" after you return home.

The most perfect weekend away with our doggies, the cottage is located on a beautiful vineyard which our dogs were allowed to run around ! Great base to visit local areas and a short drive to a few different beaches, our dogs felt very settled at Charley’s place and they were even greeted with some treats and a tennis ball ! Our favourite weekend break we’ve had in a very long time. Can’t wait to come back in the future :-) thank you !

Min Y Mor Coastal, Dog Friendly Cottage for 2

NaomiRating, 5 stars6 days ago
Lianne and Steve were extremely helpful and friendly from the get go. Steve gave plenty of recommendations and really helped us to plan out our days. The cottage was absolutely beautiful and well equipped. The hot tub with the beautiful scenery was perfect after long days walking the coastal path and visiting the beaches. I would highly recommend and would be keen to return - possibly in the lovely cottage next door that sleeps 8.

Secluded, Cosy Log Cabin in Mid Wales

UsmanRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
I've travelled and stayed at many a place, but this certainly was full of magic and discovery which had more to offer but we just didn't have enough time or sunshine to fully appreciate it. Sue and Michael were kind and very welcoming. Our two boys although very young 1 and 2 loved the outdoors and scenery. If the opportunity arised we would certainly revisit. The Cabin itself is very well finished, warm, cosy, clean and has everything you'd need to be comfortable. The No Wifi is a good thing in this case as it adds to the whole experience of being away in your own little World. We loved it. Wishing you all the best.

Cosy and charming cottage 5 miles from the coast

DavidRating, 5 stars5 days ago
The Hideaway really lives up to its name. It is a delightfully peaceful location and, though small, perfectly well equipped and very comfortable for two. The next door cottage wasn't occupied while we were there, so we really did have the place to ourselves. We were incredibly fortunate with the weather, in fact it was a heatwave. The thick walls of the cottage kept the interior pleasantly cool. The outside seating area was perfect for a quiet moment with a book after a long hot day's exploring. You are well placed for visiting local beaches, Aberporth being particularly quaint, and New Quay did not disappoint, with a harbour porpoise paying a close visit, much to our delight. Louise did everything she could to make our stay pleasant, and the fresh eggs available were great. We will make every effort to return, next time bringing our cocker spaniel, who would love it! Thank you for making our short break so lovely.

We had the most wonderful & relaxing stay. It was everything we needed for a beautiful week away. The property is absolutely stunning, with everything you would want & need included. The hot tub was a highlight, that with the fully enclosed garden meant we could really relax with our two Jack Russells after some gorgeous days spent on the local beaches, with the fantastic weather we had. Huw was incredibly attentive and so helpful if we needed anything. I would recommend this property highly to anyone & we hope to return ourselves next summer. All in all a fantastic stay. Thank You Huw.

5* Countryside Shire Pod & Hot Tub - Machlud Haul

AmandaRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Wow! What a beautiful place, absolutely loved our stay at Gwennans place, lovely and relaxing. I slept on the sofa bed with my one boy it was easy to put up and put away and was comfy. My boys absolutely loved the dogs after the initial meet and greet where they came running after the car barking 😂 luckily I’d already read the reviews and knew they were friendly. The dogs stayed with us for most of our break and even came on some walks with us, much to my boys amusement. My boys who are both 8 both think it’s the best holiday ever (we went to Lapland in Dec ha ha) and on the way home was asking when we can go back and saying they already missed Monty and Fallon. Will definitely be returning and would 100%!recommend for a peaceful break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

We've stayed here before. I only mention that because what other recommendation do you need if it's somewhere you go back to? We love the private dog-friendly location and private garden - not to mention the jacuzzi. Excellent kitchen, shower room, TV, dining table and bedroom. A short drive from New Quay and Aberaeron. The host Rachel is lovely and friendly - also responsive in answering messages.

Romantic Historic Coastal Cottage + modern luxury!

DavidRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Nyth Fach is quite remarkable by anyone’s standards. Beautifully restored with modern comforts. The Wood burner is one of the best we’ve experienced and fibre broadband very speedy. The bathroom with underfloor heating so nice in a chilly morning. Jane gave us details of a lovely walk through woodlands following a stream down to the beach and coastal walks. She also provided some great restaurant recommendations. Lovely to wander through the kitchen gardens and see the animals too. Thanks so much Jane!

Secluded, self-catering, modern style cottage

ShahrukhRating, 5 stars5 days ago
This cottage really is a hidden gem, I can’t recommend it enough, it’s rare to find a place that’s so secluded, surrounded by woodlands and hills and still has all the amenities you’d expect from a high end hotel in the city, plus a private hot tub which is free to use at all times, just lift the lid and jump in whenever you feel like it. It was also nice knowing that Daniel was never too far if we ever needed anything and super quick to respond with local recommendations. The inside of the cottage is perfect, cozy and clean, just like the pictures and the kitchen was well stocked with all the essentials. The perfect place to unwind without having to compromise on any luxuries. We’re already planning our next trip.

RajRating, 5 stars1 week ago
This property is a hidden gem in a very tranquil area. The cottage's living room is large, its kitchen is fully equipped, its beds are clean and comfortable, and its bathrooms are lovely. For a family holiday, it had everything you could ask for. Simon and Charlotte were prompt in their communication. Although we were granted privacy, we were aware that we had immediate access to any assistance we needed. The experience was made even better by small additions such as freshly laid farm eggs, milk from a local dairy, and Welsh cakes that were left for us. Overall, the property exceeded our expectations

Traditional Coastal Self-Catering Farmhouse

EvaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
What a lovely place to stay and relax after enjoying the gorgeous surroundings! The hosts are very friendly and helpful. I forgot to check the plug switches and thought the tv remote batteries were out, and within 5 minutes they were checking and helping. My mistake, forgot about UK sockets, all perfect! Spacious, clean, peaceful, with everything we could need, including coffee/tea and milk, so thoughtful! Clear instructions, local guides available, and loads to do in the area including kayaking, dolphin watching, trekking... or just walking on the beach, taking lovely photos and enjoying good food. We went for a family reunion in New Quay and this cottage was perfect to get to everywhere and relax when we needed some peace and space for our own. Great sleep and rest, nice decoration and loved the stone walls. We definitely recommend it and will check again if we return to this area. Thanks!
