The Place, Loweswater. Utter tranquillity.

ElizabethRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We had a wonderful stay at The Place. The location is breathtaking, and the house itself is perfect - every detail is beautiful and well thought-out, and Lucy had provided anything one could think of. Everything was of very high quality, from the bed linen and towels to the kitchen equipment. We were all adults, but if you have children, there are lots of toys, games, and activities, so that even on rainy days, there is plenty to do. Great walks nearby, perfect both for those who like hills and those who prefer flatter ground - Buttermere and Crummock are wonderful low ground walks, and of course the walk though Holme Woods to the Kirkstile is lovely. Thanks, Lucy and Nick!
A winding road leads along the edge of a serene lake, flanked by rolling hills and mountains in the background. Lush green grass and a solitary tree are visible on the shoreline, contributing to the tranquil landscape under a clear blue sky.

This was a great base for tackling the Fells from the Wasdale Valley. Good food and beer in the Strands Inn. Recommended.

This accommodation was fantastic! Everything was spotless, well-equipped, and thoughtfully maintained. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep. It was easy to find, and communication with the host was smooth and helpful throughout. We really appreciated that the heating was on when we arrived in the evening—it made the stay feel extra welcoming. Would definitely recommend!

Starling View, Ennerdale

An absolutely beautiful area with a lovely accommodation to stay in. Really makes you feel like your one with nature. Not far at all from lots of very notorious and amazing walks/ hikes, hosts are lovely people and the farm animals are lovely neighbours to wake up to! I would definitely recommend if looking to stay in the area for whatever reason and I would stay here again.

Little yurt

RhiannaRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Staying in this yurt was possibly the best part of mine and my friends trip! Perfect spot after a wet and windy hike up Scafell and very close by. Super cosy with more than enough essentials. Managed to cook ourself Carbonara with the kitchen supplies provided. The bedding was super comfy and more than enough to keep warm throughout the night, topped off with hot water bottles. Log burner was easy to light with the fire starters and wood provided. Couldn't resist treating ourselves to toasted marshmallows. Sadly we didn't get to meet Clare due to everything we had planned on the day and the following day, and getting to the yurt pretty late. But going by our communication, Clare was lovely, super welcoming and very helpful. Thank you for our stay, I will definitely be back šŸ¤

Hawkhow Cottage, Glenridding

BridgetRating, 5 stars6 days ago
A beautiful house in a lovely setting, great for family get togethers, location right on the lake was amazing, & easy access to lovely local town of Glenridding for essentials. Wide range of facilities at the cottage, we really enjoyed the private outdoor eating area next with the wood fired outdoor grill. Very nice well appointed kitchen with quality appliances, bathrooms clean and with quality fittings. Outside garden/woodland area was perfect for us and our dog, although the many steps and steep paths would not suit everyone, but this factor is clearly explained in the information host provides. We found some rooms a little dark, especially on a rainy day but there are some lovely lamps which can be moved around if required. Overall I would recommend this cottage as a great place to stay & enjoy the lake district and all it has to offer.

The house was comfortable, clean and spacious, with a lovely back terrace perfect for a sunny aperitif. We were lucky enough to meet Billy when we arrived late — he went the extra mile to help us sort out takeaway for dinner. Much appreciated!
