On the southeast coast of the island of Mallorca is the resort town of Cala d'Or. Its name translates to “Golden Bay.” Significant for the image of the place are the predominantly one-storey to two-storey, whitewashed houses in the so-called Ibiza style, which blend into the surrounding landscape.
