“We could not have asked for a better place to enjoy the Christmas holidays. Rosaldo and his sons were excellent hosts. We were greeted with bottles of local wine and olive oil and wonderful hospitality. The location of the flat is perfect for exploring Arma di Taggia and the local towns along the Riviera. Thanks to a nearby path, the walk into town takes about 5 minutes (downhill). The walk back up takes longer, however it’s quite worth it. The town offers numerous restaurants and Rosaldo provided an excellent recommendation for our Christmas Eve dinner. The drives to San Remo, Ventimiglia, and Dolceaqua were pleasant and made for nice side trips. The flat itself is very comfortable. The living room is spacious and well appointed. The kitchen includes all of the wine glasses, dishes, pots and pans, and equipment that you would ever need while on vacation. The bed lends to a great nights sleep. The bathroom is very modern and includes a rain shower. The highlight of the flat though is the terrace and view. Simply amazing! It was wonderful being able to watch (and hear) the waves and see the sunrises and sunsets. The entire area is also fenced in which made it a great place for our dogs to run around while we enjoyed the view. Our stay was absolutely wonderful and I hope that we’ll be able to return in the future. Thank you Rosaldo for offering an excellent and dog friendly accommodation.”
Holiday apartment in my stone built house in this, unique artists medieval village, overlooking the sea on one side and the foothills of the Italian Alpes on the other offers large light rooms with vaulted ceilings and tiled floors. With both mountain and sea air, legend has it that Bussana Vecchia is so called because it is built on the site of a Roman Villa which was called 'Bissana.' (Twice healthy).
“The accommodation was extraordinary; maintaining its ancient feel, but comfortably renovated ! The views from the bedsit spectacular and even thought we were there during the winter and it rained, Bussana Vecchia was still the most magical place to stay. The local artists and residents of Bussana Vecchia are welcoming and accommodating and the self-catering bedsit was warm and the bed super cozy. The kitchen is fully equipped with whatever we needed to cook and the Breakfast fruit and biscuits basket went down in true italian style. Vittorio was our host and took us to get food from the supermarket before we arrived, so we didn't need to leave Bussana Vecchia at all on our 3 day trip. There are many artist studios that were opened just for us , but many were already close, due to the tourist season being over. This didn't deter us though, as we simply took walks around, taking a million photos of spectacular views and enjoyed the Bussana Vecchia hospitality instead. Thank you Vittorio for driving us back to the airport, the insightful trip to the supermarket and your general availability whenever you were needed. A much recommended location for a magical experience”
Restored 14th century house in unique artist village with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, large terrace and sea view. Ten minutes (by bike or car) to the best beaches in Liguria. Superb restaurants nearby. Only 50 minutes to Nice airport. Limited availability, on request only. Preference is given to guests with artistic and/or creative occupations. Bussana is under threat to be 'Disneyfied' with eviction of us artist-inhabitants. Please help by signing petition at save-bv.com
“Wow. Bussana Vecchia is a magical place, and Gert's house is the perfect place to enjoy it from. I chose to stay in BV on a whim, and I really can't express how happy I am that I did. The town is right out of a storybook! Every day that I woke up with the gorgeous view from the upper bedroom, I could hardly believe I wasn't dreaming. All of the locals were so nice and interesting. We made fantastic friends, especially at La Barca. Everyone said that Gert's house is the best in the town! We spent time every day at the adorable cafe, Piazzeta Golosa, that was just steps away from our house. The house had all the modern conveniences--everything that we needed (although it was a bit rough not having wifi). The kitchen had all the necessary supplies, but we didn't need it because food was so delicious and inexpensive at Golosa, La Casaccia, and La Barca. We spent hours on the terrace enjoying the view. With a car, you can explore surrounding areas, but we were on a relaxation vacation and only left BV once during our 5-day stay to walk to a store in nearby Bussana. I really miss Bussana Vecchia, and cannot wait to return!”
