The Shackteau

A rustic cabin, right out of “Deliverance.” Inside, it's a well equipped clean and cozy retreat overlooking the world famous Margaree River and hills. Margaree Forks is a great place to get away from it all, yet close to everything in western Cape Breton. I believe my happiest guests are those who are familiar with the camping lifestyle but now want something more comfortable. The owners now live in their new home on the property. Our cabin is conveniently located off the TransCanada highway in Millville. 7 minutes to the Newfoundland ferry and less then 30 minutes to either Sydney, Baddeck or the Cabot trail. This cabin is situated on the "back forty" acres of the owners house. Very private and peaceful setting alongside Fifes Brook. The cabin has electricity and a heatpump. There is also an outdoor cook house equipped with a BBQ and propane coleman stove. An off grid washroom unit is located directly beside the cabin.
