Cabin vacation rentals in Barren River Lake

My husband and I enjoyed a three night stay at David and Dagmars cabin #2. It was a beautiful area, so peaceful, and it was awesome having a pond in our backyard. We loved sitting on the porch and taking it easy, just enjoying the view. We went for a hike on the property and found the troll bridge and waterfall. The cabin was spotless and felt so welcoming. Our fur baby had a wonderful time exploring the area as well. We went to Mammoth Cave and went on one of the tours-highly recommend! Dagmar was very communicative-which was appreciated. The only downside I can think of that we wished we could have stayed longer. You won’t be disappointed if you stay here. Dagmar and David- thank you for sharing your little piece of heaven. We hope to visit again soon!

The cabin at Cub Run was a perfect get away for our family! It is a beautiful, clean cabin with everything we needed and more! Kevin was great with communication and we had all of our check in and check out information in a timely manner. It was about a 45 minute drive to the Mammoth Cave visitor center and we loved sitting around the campfire in the evening. There are neighbors nearby but it was very peaceful and quiet. If we head back to the area we would definitely stay there again!

Well, the first thing that really stood out for me was that the coffee maker worked. Lol. Coffee sets the day for me. But seriously. This place was exactly as described. Everything listed was exactly the way it was. It was restful, peaceful, and again, exactly as advertised. The whole family was satisfied with the experience. Made for a great 3-day getaway for the whole family.

The only problem we had was being willing to leave! This was by far the most amazing and perfect place we’ve ever stayed. All our needs were anticipated and met. House and location was perfect!

We stayed at the cabin for 3 nights over the Memorial Day weekend. Such a lovely place, very quiet and peaceful! We particularly appreciated the back screened in patio, with the view of the lake. All amenities were provided that were needed (and more!); a great deal of thought has gone into making guests comfortable and happy. The kitchen is well-stocked and pristine, and the bathrooms are lovely as well. Interesting architecture makes this house something special! So glad we chose this one and we will definitely be back!

Melanie is a super responsive host and we appreciate the fact that they accept our fur babies as guests as well! From the moment you arrive at the gate and drive up to the house, you feel your worries leave. The property is tucked away in the woods and evokes a tranquil, peaceful, easy feeling. The home is well stocked with pantry essentials making it easy to say no to the outside world and stay to linger around the dinner table on rainy days. Mammouth Cave is an easy 30 min drive away for a day trip. We loved the proximity to Nolin Dam/Lake and enjoyed watching the fishermen and wildlife. If you are looking for a home that easily accommodates multigenerational travel, this is it! The master bedroom/bath is an oasis in itself. The spacious loft has an on suite bathroom and the walkout downstairs is well equipped for a teen's hideout! We will be bookmarking this home for a return trip to explore the roads less traveled.

This was a great place! There was 5 of us(3kids) and still had plenty of room. Was nice to be able to walk right out and fish and also had a side by side available to get around with. Was awesome weekend, Thank you!

Great home! Terrific firepit! Very private. Lots of wildlife! The lake is a plus! Will definetly be back.

The Gnome Home was such an amazing place! We enjoyed the week spent here. Heather was an amazing host. We had all the amenities we needed, including more towels than we've ever had at an Airbnb (it was amazing). We loved chilling by the fire pit at night, and watching wildlife during the day (deer, turkey, owls). We can't wait to come back and visit again!

This home was perfect for my group of friends enjoying a weekend on the lake. The space was large enough to accommodate us all, it was clean& Lee was very responsive. Would recommend this home for anybody wanting a quiet, secluded time near the lake.

This was a great place for a big group. If you plan to make your own food, the kitchen has all the tools, dishes, pan, etc. - everything you need. The saloon was fun and the beds comfortable. Free firewood and a nice fire ring. Be aware that while it was close to the lake it was about a 40 minute drive to Diamond Cave and about 1 hour to Mammoth Cave visitors center. Scenic drive. Also, no restaurants, Walmart or large grocery store nearby that we could find. Some groceries at I65, about 1/2 hour away. We brought our own food and loved to quiet ambiance. I would definitely come back again.

The cabin is spacious and well decorated, so it feels like home from the very first step, and was an excellent place to unwind and reconnect.

We've stayed at a lot of cabins for fall and spring breaks with our kids & this is one of our absolute favorites! Everything was clean & comfortable, the hot tub is fantastic, and the layout of the house worked well for our family (kids in the basement, mom + dad in the upstairs master). There's an incredible amount of deck space (three levels!), and having coffee outside each morning was a highlight for me. The 18-hole disc golf course is a unique feature! My 7-year-old is just getting into disc golf, and we liked that we could just take him out to play a couple of holes at a time after spending the day doing other activities. A couple of things to know: (1) Grocery stores are few & far between in the area, so plan to bring most of what you need with you or to eat at local restaurants while you're out and about, (2) If you're visiting Mammoth Cave, look up information about the Green River Ferry -- not only is it a fun experience but it will save you a ton of driving time.

We had a great stay at the cabin. The kids enjoyed the downstairs area with their bedroom, pool table, darts and access to the back yard. We fished out back and had no luck but caught lots of fish at the boat ramp down the road. The host was very responsive.

Jamie’s place was exactly what we needed for our visit to Bowling Green. We were traveling with family, and the home was spacious enough for everyone in our group! The kitchen was well-stocked, which was important to us. Jamie was so helpful and responsive to messages and questions.

Great stay in Cub run with Hari! this cabin is seriously one of the most beautiful we've ever stayed in. worked for our little group. while we wish there was better lake access, you can't deny how beautiful the surrounding area is and once everything gets cleaned up from the floods I'm sure the closest lake access points will be back in action. really enjoyed easy connection to Mammoth cave, on both sides of the park, and several of the local restaurants.

Jonathan's cabin is set in a quiet area next to a creek, it is a comfortable and relaxing place. We love how quiet it is and sitting on the porch listening to the water flow is very relaxing. The house his fully equipped with all of the necessities. This is our 2nd stay and we will definitely return in the future!

We enjoyed staying at this historic home. The host was quick to respond and even kept us updated on severe weather that was headed to the area. We would definitely love to stay there again.

This is a beautiful, clean, and well appointed cabin. Lora was so kind to check in and make sure we had all we needed after our arrival, but the place was already perfect and we felt right at home. We stayed during the summer which was great for easy access to Barren River Lake, but this would also be an amazing winter rental with the cozy look of the cabin and the two fireplaces. Thank you Lora for hosting us!

Joel’s place was the perfect spot for a guys golf trip to park mammoth! It was less than 5 minutes away from the course. Joel was a great host and has a nice place in an area where there aren’t a lot of lodging options!

The house was perfect for our weekend away! Plenty of space both inside and outside. We went to Mammoth Cave and Louisville from here, and it was a relaxing home base.

Great stay at this cabin. Super close to Mammoth Cave NP and convenient to whatever necessities you need to pick up in Cave City. Owners were responsive and checked in on us to make sure we had what we needed. Cabin was clean and comfy. Loved the fluffy towels and the board games!

Trish was really friendly and she made sure I had several ways to contact her. She provides a lot of convenient starters like paper towels and plates and coffee, not just little samples like most places. The lake is beautiful and the fire pit was really comfy and the kids loved the s’mores. The blankets were really soft and the shower is really good! Thank you and I will happily stay with Trish again!!!!
