Alexander's place was exactly as we had expected. My family loves animals and the idea of staying on a sustainable farm was very appealing to us to learn about the farm and also the culture. This community is a place that still uses bartering as a form of exchange and is tucked in an authentic neighborhood that is off the beaten path. We felt so grateful to find this farm and enjoy a true cultural experience in Costa Rica. Don Carlos was an amazing host and he made this experience one that we will never forget. Although we do not speak fluent Spanish, we were able to enjoy the time together very much and would welcome him to our home should he ever visit where we live. In a time of too much technology, this experience showed my children the capabilities of humans doing real work and working to preserve land and communities that are the backbone of our world and every society. This place is a peaceful retreat. We appreciated Johnathan's courtesy, who was very kind, he greeted us on arrival and explained the details. Very friendly and kind, it was very nice. The house was very clean and the beds are very comfortable. We slept very well. The view is splendid, breathtaking. The place is about 3km from the village, and the roads are not paved, we rented a 4x4 that was useful for going up to the house, but parking is available down the hill. Monteverde is a village nestled in the mountains, in the morning we had lunch above the clouds. Funny fact, a cat walks around the house and is very affectionate. 10/10 recommend the place to stay in Monteverde, it's perfect.

I traveled Costa Rica for 9 days and this was my favorite stay. The view was STUNNING, there are no words to truly describe how beautiful it was to wake up to the sight and sound of nature. What truly made this stay special was the host, she was so kind and welcoming and helped us with any questions we had. Definitely a great place to disconnect, but also had the comfort of all amenities you may need.

We had an amazing time. The place is a short drive from La fortuna falls and walkable distance from the river. About 25mins drive to get to Arenal. Easy to find and has parking right out the door. There are plenty of restaurants a short drive away. Camilo was also very kind and gave us great local recommendations and helped us plan to make most of our time. Would definitely recommend.
