We love our place on the Mendenhall River! Eagles, bears, deer, porcupine, and otters are common sights in the backyard while the soft rush of the glacier-fed stream provides a soothing background. We are located in the upper Mendenhall Valley, just a 5 minute drive from the Mendenhall Glacier & 3 minute walk to the Brotherhood Bridge trail which takes you into deep old forest almost immediately. The river is ever changing and always beautiful & peaceful. We are available, but don’t intrude.

Second time booking this heavenly guest house. I had family friends visiting when their accommodations fell through (another Airbnb with mold and allergens). I immediately messaged Brandon and within 3 hours, he had the place spotless. I'm so thankful for this rental and host. He understands that this is more than just a place to sleep. It's a wild Alaskan experience with whales, eagles, sunsets, and all of the items you need to find and view them.

A covered back porch features a comfortable bench swing, inviting relaxation. Snow gently blankets the wooden floor, emphasizing the tranquil winter scene. Surrounding trees create a peaceful setting, while glimpses of the backyard can be seen in the background.

There are not enough words to explain how awesome this place is. We heard whales and saw some from the cabin multiple times. The location of this place is SPECTACULAR. If you like being away from others and the hustle and bustle of the cruise ship madness, this is for you. There are beaches and trails all near the cabin and the locals are so kind in letting you know if other places to see. I will absolutely try to do this again sometime, when I'm able. It's just magical. Thank Michael and Pete, for the hospitality and kindness. This trip will never be forgotten. Once in a lifetime opportunity.

Terri's house is great! The amenities are lovely and the house is very well advertised. I stay at Air B&Bs frequently, and Terri's place is a great value. We were within a 5 minute walk of beautiful trails, and had a quiet backyard to enjoy a fire in (w/dry kindling). Terri provides free snacks and coffee, which is nice after a long day of travel. The kitchen, laundry, and grill all worked great! Everything was spotlessly clean- they have thought of everything. Terri and Anna are helpful and communicative, while giving you privacy. They helped us out when we needed it, and went above and beyond to make the stay great. If you are looking to stay in a cute neighborhood and enjoy scenic trails, this is a great place!
