We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Big Axe B&B. Our hosts were amazing. The property is cozy, with everything we needed for an excellent ski vacation. Only 23 minutes to Crabbe Mountain. We would recommend them to anyone looking for a quiet retreat, with a cozy feel. Breakfast was delicious.

Lorelei, David, and their dogs were such a delight to stay with! Everyone was super friendly and welcoming -- which was appreciated after a long drive! The room itself was spacious, clean and incredibly peaceful. All the listed amenities were also available for us. We'd love to go back and stay with them again!

Felt right at home here. It was very peaceful. The beach was a short walk down the road and so was the town. The host also gave us some great recommendations for where we were headed. Very helpful!

A little gem. Beautiful surroundings, and very peaceful. But at the same time it’s right off the highway and very easy to find. Sarah was extremely responsive. I would recommend this spot to anyone, and would stay again.

Jane and Paul are fantastic hosts! Our stay in the North Barn was incredible. Jane greeted us as we pulled up and gave us a wonderful tour. The barn is beautifully thought out and felt like a home, perfect for our time at MDI. Jane advised our teens to enjoy the little nook upstairs for some down time. Everyone loved the porch, where we could soak in the sun or enjoy cooler evenings without the bugs. Paul's color coded hikes (descriptions and maps) were invaluable. A welcome basket of provisions were waiting for us, so we didn't have to rush out to get any groceries for our hike the next day. We got great recommendations for food from Jane. Coffee Matters was a favorite breakfast place. If you choose to go to Town Hill Market, have cash on hand! The star was Beal's Lobster Pier in Southwest Harbor. The seafood was excellent and the onion rings were spot on. Jane and Paul, thank you for a memorable time on MDI! We loved the conversations and hope to be back soon!

This house is beautifully refinished, all new everything, but they kept all the heritage features and warmth. We could live here, so quiet in the bush at night, Sat outside enjoying the stars. Wonderful sleep in 5 star linens, and coffee brewing when we woke up. Sorry we couldn't stay longer.

we stayed in the waterfront section of the B and B , with a wonderful water view . Very walk able to nearby restaurants. Room was perfect , clean , great bed and linens . The breakfast was also outstanding . Thanks Joe for an enjoyable stay .

We so enjoyed our stay at this charming bed and breakfast. We brought our dog and found it to be very dog friendly, and enjoyed having some common spaces available so he didn’t have to be too cooped up in the room. We loved talking with Brit and the other guests and enjoyed the breakfast each morning. It wasn’t a full spread, but more than enough to fuel us for a day of exploring Acadia- and the blueberry muffins are so good. The location is walking distance to a few close restaurants, and a quick drive to Bar Harbor and the park while still quiet and peaceful.

With very short notice, (30 minutes) of needing a place for the night, Cheri replied quickly and the room was available when I arrived. Clean quiet secure room, with a comfy bed and clean washroom. Which was al I needed for the night. I’ve been to the area before, so I knew I did not have to worry about the location. Thank you!

Loved my stay here! Hosts were friendly and accommodating. I checked in quite late but it was no issue for them. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast spread was very generous! Really recommend staying here, I will be coming back I'm sure.

Penthouse is a great staycation for couples who want to spend the evening downtown Halifax and come back to relax!

Five stars! Very nice place to stay if you’re planning to visit Acadia! This peaceful house has stunning views around and very easy to find. Tony is very proactive and considerate. Homemade breakfast and snacks made by local ingredients are so delicious. Will def come back!

What a beautiful place. We were lucky to get one of the two larger rooms that look right out onto the water and have very comfortable king sized beds. Even if you don't, the living room has lots of seating to enjoy the view if it's too windy or cold to sit outside. The owners are very responsive. I requested cream for my coffee as they had only milk and it was there within the hour. The breakfast had lots of choices with muffins, bagels, yogurt, oatmeal, etc. You can't go wrong staying here. The name says it all.

I had such a nice and peaceful stay! This was perfect for a solo traveler (but could easily work for 2 people as well). It’s very close to all the Green Gables spots/activities. The walk down to the river and through the labyrinth was so peaceful. Since you have the whole upper area it feels private. Gorgeous views even better than the pics.

Her comfortable cottage is done up with style (see the pictures), and with beautiful outdoors and lakefront dock to enjoy the serene views and sunsets. Her place is super clean and the bedding/towels, etc are top notch. She makes you feel at home with a warm welcome and offer to use the shared spaces. And if you are so inclined, it’s a pleasure to engage in conversation with her. I would love to stay at her place again if the opportunity arises. Highly recommended.

Absolutely loved my stay! You are getting ease of property parking. Walkability to Riverfront. Farmers market on Thursdays was a highlight. Convenient location for day trip drives. Modern updated spa bathrooms. Comfy beds with lovely linens. Room was spacious, comfortable. Quiet for sleeping. Access to sitting room on the upper floor (with kettle for tea/coffee machine/bar fridge to store items/sitting area) Breakfasts are a 10/10! Attention to details 10/10! Highly recommend for a memorable stay with excellent hosts. So inviting, relaxing. A true Gem in Fredericton 🥰

Michael and his partner were super friendly! Linens and bed were pristine, appreciated the terry cloth robes and slippers. Bed was extremely comfortable; blackout curtains enable you to sleep in. It's an old house that's been lovingly restored, but be aware the upstairs floors do slant a bit. You need to walk up a flight of stairs to your room. DVD player with TV available in bedroom. Very cozy. Michael offers Continental breakfast for you, on your schedule. Lovely artwork on the walls. Friendly, fluffy cat lives there too, but stays out of your room. Easy walking distance to downtown Eastport. You get a harbor view, just a few steps out the door. Michael is happy to share his extensive DVD collection with you, of old TV shows and films. Mini fridge in the room.
