Forest View Lodge is situated on a quiet site, which is located right on the Lake District National Park border, making it an excellent base for exploring the Lakes . The site has no amenities, however there is a garden centre tea room next door and a pub in the next village. Cockermouth is 10 minutes, Keswick 25 mins. The lodge sleeps 4 in two double bedrooms, both en-suite. There is a fully-equipped modern kitchen, and the decking is perfect for relaxing with a drink after a day exploring.

We would like to welcome you to our comfortable pet friendly accommodation in the heart of West Cumbria a short distance from Keswick , Penrith and Carlisle. We are situated on the edge of a small community village which boasts a local pub and only a 5 minute drive to the local town with amenities to include shops, cafes and take aways together with a train station. The Shed has been custom built, in the paddock, near my small barn conversion. It has a homely atmosphere, with vintage furnishings and up-cycled items. Where possible I’ve tried to be eco friendly. This is a quiet, tranquil place with beautiful views of the Scottish hills beyond the Solway Firth. It’s part of a small hamlet and my former family farm. Animals are often kept in the fields next to The Shed. You’ll experience stunning sunsets and starry skies.

Beautiful, spacious and the birdsong is hypnotic. Huge kitchen/ seating area. The en suite off the master bedroom is stunning. Such a peaceful location but also easy to drive to lakes and surrounding areas. Loving the re-wilding around the deck.

Grooms Cottage is beautiful, has got its own character. Situated in a quiet farming area. You can enjoy the lash green fields and windmills from the living room. I liked it.

Melanie’s place is superb! Such a quaint & cute cottage with a beautiful view to wake up to every morning from the bedroom. It was so lovely to be able to have a fire every night, it made the place so cosy! And also the bed was super comfortable. If you have a hire car, it’s a great location to drive to Keswick / Buttermere Lake / Bassenthwaite Lake / Whinlatter Forest - all spots I’d highly recommend! Thanks for having us Melanie!

Donna and Paul were great freindly hosts, Paul even asked if would like anything from the local shop as he was going. Any questions that I had before and during our stay were answered very quickly by Donna. We had Fieldside no2. It was very well equipped right down to liners for the double air fryer! The view from the living area and bedroom were great, sheep right outside. The location for us was perfect, approx 20 minutes by car to both Keswick in one direction and the coast in the other. A great stay and we will be back!!
