It was a pleasure meeting Nikki, her husband Art, and Solomon the husky. She was very welcoming and thoughtful. The house was clean, kept at a comfortable temperature, and the neighborhood is peaceful and quiet. I will be using this AirBnB for my future trips to Anchorage.

Serenity Place

TinaRating, 5 stars5 days ago
The second I walked in the door my first words were “very accommodating.” It was clean, cozy and had lots of space to sprawl out. Tons of extra blankets if you needed them. Lots of games to play. The kitchen area had breakfast for us with a homemade bread that was so delicious. Sometimes those little gestures are everything when you’re traveling. Very communicative and easy to work with. Would definitely recommend to others.

Glacier Creek Chalet Girdwood AK

TomRating, 5 stars48 months ago
Very convenient to Girdwood, the arm and towns further into the peninsula. Perfect place for a couple days for my family of four. The hosts were onsite and very friendly and helpful with issues and ideas. Note it’s rustic living - very akin to a mountain town in the western lower 48 - with kids sharing a bunk bed and animals on site engaging with you. We loved it and would have no concerns staying here again.

Diamonds on the Lake cozy efficiency

KristopherRating, 5 stars9 months ago
Best experience in Alaska. If you have even clicked on this listing it is the place for you!!! From the fishing right off the dock for some decent size rainbows, to the clean comfortable cozy living area you will not find a better option! My son and I booked a two night stay at Shirley’s place towards the last 4 days of our vacation. As I hung up from her welcome call i immediately extended for the rest of my trip! The view from the bed is like it was painted there for you! The living space is like having an apartment next to the most amazing Alaskans you’ll ever meet. She even stocked the fridge for us with some breakfast fixins. Her husband Butch is fantastic! He shared tons of info about life in Alaska as my son and I intend on moving up here next summer to build our own place! From cooking us diners to inviting us to the state fair they made us feel so much like family we decided to pitch in on some lawn work with Butch!!! Forget looking for gold in Alaska this is a true DIAMOND!!!

Brown Bear Place

MarianaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
I highly recommend Cheryl's place, it felt very comfortable, like home. Gracious and hospitable hosts. Apartment was clean and well stocked, with thoughtful details. Easy to find (we used an Uber) and easy to access the unit. As soon as we got inside we felt like we could relax and unwind, it was very cozy and nice. We hope to stay here again anytime we need lodging in Anchorage.

Eagle's Nest

NicoleRating, 5 stars47 months ago
This place is exactly as pictured! A little bit odd, but as we stayed there, we came to realize that Spenard is a bit weird so it really fits right in! It is in what seems to be a fourplex; it’s the top back corner unit from the street. The neighborhood is, like I said, unique. It’s not going to be everyone’s cup of tea; if you’re skiddish about being in an area that looks a little rundown, maybe go elsewhere. It’s a block away from Spenard road and just a few blocks away from Tommy’s Burger Stop. Connie, the property manager, is just lovely. She welcomed us and showed us around, and was chatty without being intrusive. She’s great. She even left some mock orange cuttings on our doorstep after taking some trimmings from her (impressive, lovely) garden which gave the studio a wonderful slight fragrance. It’s hot in Anchorage right now, so she brought us each a fan from her garage. She was worried about them being old and dirty but we were just thrilled to have fans and at her hospitality. We did not hear any noise from her or the downstairs neighbors. I didn’t try to hold a video call or anything but we had no problems with the WiFi. We were coming off of four days in the backcountry, and found everything we needed in there. The bed was very soft, which I love, but my partner less so. The not-so-great: we definitely got hot at night, even with the fans. She offered us a lighter blanket but we mostly just used the flat sheet, and it was still hot. But there’s a heat wave in Anchorage right now, so in cooler weather, this would not be an issue. And like I said, the neighborhood seems a little dicey. We had no issues, but we probably wouldn’t have gone walking around much. One of our Uber drivers was visibly uncomfortable with the area during a drop-off. But there wasn’t any yelling, commotion, bothering of our car, or disturbance of our stuff. So just gauge your own tolerance and maybe do a little reading about Spenard, which does seem to be gentrifying, but not quite in this area, (which is also part of the charm). We booked this place coming out of our hike because it was literally the last available place in Anchorage for our dates until our flight home, so we weren’t expecting much. But now, I’m glad to have had the experience of meeting Connie and getting to know the Spenard area a bit. It’s great for an adventurous couple looking for a grittier, homier experience than the many hotels in Anchorage offer.

Stay with Edgarita felt like staying with family. We were immediately welcomed with a warm greeting, and some furry friends. From chatting about our lives, to the historic bed rooms, and ending it all with a delicious breakfast, Edgarita’s place is definitely worth the stop. We hope to be back in Alaska, and we’ll be sure to visit next time we’re here.

McKinley Birch Bed and Breakfast

MichelleRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Russ and Glenda were the warmest host ever. Felt like we went back to our grandparent’s home. Super welcoming. Though we only stayed 1 night, they made sure we felt right at home. Sharing conversations and experiences; allowing us to use the shared kitchen. The attic on the 2nd floor has no door; so the room is just up the stairs. Having said that, they gave us our privacy and space. Glenda also provided breakfast and fruit salad for us. We were grateful and thankful for staying in such a beautiful home.

Windflower B and B Sundown Suite

MaryRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
All we needed for a two night stay. We had no complaints about breakfast. He leaves an option of several items that you can choose from. You can choose two per person. you let him know before 6 pm what you would like and he has individual plates covered in the fridge the next morning that you can heat up in the microwave. This worked well for us so we could be on our own schedule. There was also plenty of fresh fruit, tea and coffee. Washing machine was available downstairs. There was a toaster oven for use in our place which was nice. It is true that the shower is a little strange because the shower head is quite short. For 4 people it did feel a little cramped but there was a place for everyone to sleep and eat and The view was the best! Thank you Barry!

River Room with a Variety of Fun Amenities

VanessaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
I arrived after midnight from New Zealand on the back of 40 hours of traveling with no sleep. The home was easy to find, warm, and very welcoming, like coming home! The home is amazing, great bedroom. I love the different levels and quiet rejuvenating spaces, especially the kitchen table set in-front of the bird feeders which double as a squirrel attraction. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to stay in Alaska in a home away from home. It’s a real treat! Thank you so much Elijah for being such a wonderful host!🙂
