Lovely house, great views, within 30 mins drive to all main south lakes sights. Communication and check in all very easy and clear. We had a great stay :)

Had a lovely short stay at The BoatHouse. Views were absolutely stunning and the accommodation was spacious and comfortable. The beds were super comfy. The work next door was a little noisy at times but we were pre-warned and to be honest it didn’t bother us. Just beware to close the blind in the bathroom as the crane provides a direct view in! Please note that you need to bring your own toilet/kitchen roll for the accommodation otherwise everything was extremely well stocked. Would definitely return!

Really good location for a family holiday. We had 6 adults and although 2 were in the ‘children’s’ bedroom they were comfortable and there was lots of space for us all. Outside spaces (places to sit or eat) in particular were lovely and the hot tub of course was fabulous. Really great easy location for Ambleside itself and getting quickly walking!

The venue is stunning, the photos do not do it justice! Everyone has everything the need in each room with their own en suite and the grandness of the building is something else! You have so much space, the large garden area wraps around back and side and is beautiful with stunning views! Everything you could need in the kitchen and welcome bottle very kindly provided by our hosts! Plenty of entertainment and eating areas! When leaving one of our cars broke down and they were very understanding and accommodating! Perfect location, made our stay extra special!

This was our first visit to Alison’s cottage and certainly won’t be our last. It’s a lovely cosy place for 2 people in the heart of Bowness, just off the Main Street which helps the property to feel private and quiet. It was spotless and It had all the amenities as described with the kitchen having everything you need for a break away from home. The bed was really comfortable and the bathroom was lovely. There’s also an added bonus of a downstairs loo. The property was easy to find and the allocated car park space, which was very close to the cottage, was very valuable in a town with limited parking. Alison’s communication was excellent and she even catered to our dietary needs with some lovely treats. I would highly recommend a break at this cottage if you are staying in the area.

We were a party of 3 couples; large cosy sitting room, all 3 bedrooms were spacious with excellent storage. Has recently been tastefully refurbed and is in fabulous condition. Is in a quiet residential road only a couple of minutes walk to shops, restaurants, pubs etc. We've been visiting the Lakes for decades and stayed in a variety of accommodation and this was a cut above the norm.

Perfect location. 10/10. I did not want to leave. Comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen, unbelievable views, superb location, easy access to logs for fire with which my husband was delighted. 100% would return... tomorrow if it was possible! Our dog (border terrier) had a fantastic time too and was very interested in the wee hedgehog who appeared to be living in the bushes outside and the free range chickens!! There was also a free range doggo popping round to the garden in the evening. Vigilance/ Lead/ supervision was a must for our super inquisitive pup.

A lovely cottage, in a great location. Had everything we needed and more. Easy instructions to get to location and for check in and check out. Visited Ingleton waterfalls trail, only half hour drive from cottage and well worth visiting, beautiful! Would definitely stay at the cottage again.

We had a lovely stay; the location is wonderful, surrounded by farmland with baby lambs overlooking the seating area! The apartment is very well specced and looked after, with a small garden house further up the hill opposite and an amazing river a short walk across the fields where we went for a swim. The photos do not do the property justice, it is a gem. Would definitely come back to use as a quiet base to explore the lakes from again.

This was our second stay at Fiona’s place and we loved it just as much as the first. The location is so beautiful and the views from the window are perfection. The beds are so comfortable and the sheets were so luxurious that we looked at the label on the bedding and ordered the same ones before we left! We were within 25 minutes drive of Buttermere, Crummock Water, Derwent Water and Bassenthwaite, all of which were amazing swim spots. Fiona is very friendly and was available to answer any questions we had. We will be back next year. 😊

This was one of those places that you would wish to keep a secret. The views are breathtaking, the area is quiet, perfect for a retreat for people willing to charge their batteries from their busy lives. It's a bit off the beaten track, so you need a car or a taxi from the train station to get there, but you can rest from the busy touristic towns of the Lake District. Jeanette was a very discreet and lovely host. She furbished the place with great care. Thank you Jeanette for hosting us, your place was a dream come true!

Robin is an exceptional host with a just as exceptional home. We ended up arriving later than anticipated at the dead of night, and also had some car issues (which he ended up rescuing us!) and he went beyond what a host would ever be expected to do. As well as providing helpful pointers on where to go & what to do. The place itself is absolutely beautiful, exactly like the photos. The log burner really makes the space for when you get home late and just want to relax and unwind. I can’t recommend this place enough, for the actual space and for what you get with Robin as a host who clearly cares deeply about his BnB and making guests feel welcome. Thanks and looking forward to coming again soon!!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, nice apartment everything we needed was provided and was kept to a high standard. The only let down was parking as we were the only place without a place provided. All in all a great experience.

Enjoyed our stay at Kate's place for a second visit. Has all the amenities we needed and we can feel very relaxed there. Kate was very helpful with our booking. She dealt very promptly with one minor maintenance issue. She's a thoughtful host and there were fresh flowers, milk and biscuits to welcome us. We enjoyed chatting to Kate. We had a great short break at Clare and Richard’s. The flat is spotless and well equipped. We walked up Kentmere Pike, only a 20 minute drive away and enjoyed gentle evening strolls around the green. Superb information provided in the flat and hosts very responsive.

Had a lovely two night stay, beautiful surroundings, peaceful, clean and comfortable. Able to walk to local shop and pub. Scafell Pike, beach and The Lakes not far by car Great host, good communication

Lovely little bolthole, incredible location in the heart of the village. You’re a minute walk away from most of the restaurants, pubs and sights. Getting checked in was super easy and the place was spotless, thank you Nia!

Like most places Mondays are tricky finding a restaurant open. Everything was great and Lottie was a kind and responsive host who left us gorgeous local goodies to ear, much appreciated

She really is a 10/10 host, very easy to talk to, caring and very responsive to your needs! We absolutely loved our stay at Chris & Lottie’s apartment! The flat was spotlessly clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated it felt so welcoming the moment we walked in. The little goodies left for us were such a sweet and thoughtful touch. The location was perfect for visiting Windermere, Ambleside, and all the scenic gems of the Lake District. And the balcony… what an amazing view over Kendal town! It was the perfect spot to relax in the evenings. A truly lovely stay — definitely a 5-star experience. 😊

This was by far the best place I stayed while travelling in the UK for 6 weeks. Fiona greeted me on arrival and showed me how everything worked. She also made some great suggestions for local walks and cafes. The apartment is spacious, with modern decor and spotlessly clean. The host has provided everything you need for a very comfortable stay. It’s located within a few minutes of the shops and within walking distance to the buses and trains. Although it’s close to everything, it’s tucked away down a laneway so it’s extremely quiet and private. I highly recommend this apartment.
