Pet-friendly vacation rentals in Zanzibar

Fukuchani Inn is wonderful - the staff is pleasant, kind, and very willing to help with whatever you might need. Everyone was friendly and we had a wonderful stay. The Inn is right near the ocean, a quick little walk to a beautiful (albeit rocky) beach, and it's very close (about 15 mins) from Nungwi beach. And the pool is lovely! We stayed in the 2-bedroom Villa and it was perfect for my family, plenty of space and very clean. And of course I have to mention Daisy, the basset hound!! Such a friendly and good girl :) We would love to come back one day - overall, great stay :) Friendly reminder to travelers, Tanzania and Zanzibar often have power outages, and this includes A/C - but they only lasted a few mins each time, and the staff aims to provide as comfortable a stay as possible.

Vlad is an honest and responsible owner, he met us, gave us an introductory tour of the city, and told us about local features. The accommodation turned out to be better than in the photo, very spacious, clean, all the necessary items for living were present. Your property's patio includes a grill and a small gazebo. Shops and cafes are 1-2 minutes walk from your home. The most gorgeous beach is a 5-minute walk from the house. Liquor store 30 seconds away. Everything is comfortable and accessible. I highly recommend this property and this owner!

Stayed 9 nights with my husband (June 2025). Great communication. Got collected at the airport by Suileman (sorry if spelling is wrong!)..we had a hire car so husband followed us behind..would be very hard to find otherwise. We were greeted by Said and Josephine with fresh coconuts... the house is just like the photos. Absolutely stunning. Beautiful gardens and clean pool with incredible views. Incredibly clean..bedrooms were gorgeous as was the bathrooms. Everything you may need was included. Staff were so helpful. Said took my husband out to show us where to buy bread. There are 2 local supermarkets...very expensive and mostly sold UK products! Air-conditioning upstairs but not down..I was incredibly hot. There are fans but still humid and hot. All in all..a fantastic holiday. The beach by villa isn't the best..very rocky..but beautiful views from patio area. Watch out for bugs and lizards.. but that's Africa! A truly memorable holiday. We will return one day. Easy 5 stars.

Fantastic location on the ocean, with fabulous views from all terraces and especially from the upper outside deck. Great open plan living space with views and spacious bedrooms with en suite bathrooms . The staff were incredibly welcoming, kind and discreet, always there to greet and assist. The property and gardens are really well designed and have a great flow. Superb walks to the reefs at low tide. The remote location provides great privacy and relaxation, highly recommended. We will be back!

Our stay at this beautiful villa exceeded all expectations! The pristine, large pool and stunning property were truly impressive, but what really made our experience unforgettable was Barbara, the amazing host. She went above and beyond, even arranging our airport pick-up and drop-off, making everything so easy. Her warmth and hospitality made us feel right at home. Highly recommend staying here – it’s a perfect getaway!

This villa is a real gem! Perched facing the sea, it offers breathtaking views — impossible to get tired of, we were literally hypnotized by the landscape. The pool with direct ocean views is a real treat, and access to a quiet and peaceful beach makes the place even more magical. A true haven of peace! Our room, facing the sea, was just splendid — waking up with a view, moments of serenity, perfect. A huge thank you to David, always super welcoming, available and responsive (you know we won't forget your help, really🙏). Special mention also to the chef: the dishes were delicious, and it's a real plus when you just want to make the most of the villa without having to move. Great value for money! Zoe was an amazing host and really helpful with providing recommendations on where to eat and what to see on the island. Zoe was also very quick with her responses which made our stay at Zanzibar stress free. The property was spacious, with the showers having good water pressure and the beds being covered in mosquito nets. We had rented a car and we were able to park the car safely inside the gate. Overall we would definitely recommend Zoe as a host and her property as a great place to stay!

I stayed at Marvelous with my family. It was great place for the vacation. The host was really friendly, responsive and helpful. Especially every food we ate was amazing. I loved the natural and comfortable atmosphere. I highly recommend Marvelous.

My friend and I celebrated a birthday here and stayed for five nights. It took us a little time to adjust, but once we did, we had an amazing and high-quality stay. The Popo house was perfect spacious, well-equipped, and featuring a big pool and a fully functional kitchen that we made great use of. Popo House is located on the sunrise side, allowing us to wake up early and enjoy breathtaking sunrises. Every morning, we could walk down and watch the local people working on their seaweed plantations, which was a unique and fascinating experience. One of the highlights of our stay was the two incredible dogs, Millie and Poppy. They took care of us throughout our visit, providing both companionship and security. At night, they would bark if they sensed unfamiliar people, yet they were so well-trained never entering the house uninvited or stealing food. They were truly polite and loving, and saying goodbye to them was the hardest part. Overall, we absolutely loved this place. It’s perfect!

Zanzilywood is good place for those looking peaceful surroundings in an isolated location. The grounds include a pool and store with all the items you need. The apartments are very spacious. If anything is missing, the hosts are quick correct the situation. Moreover, the host can arrange for your transportation both near and into Stonestown. I was satisfied with my stay.

We loved our stay at Theresia’s place, very private and peaceful, Theresia was very responsive to messages and very helpful. The property was lovely. Sam and Flola were very helpful and friendly and Ramadam made us a lovely Swahili breakfast every morning. We would absolutely recommend and if we are ever in Bwejuu again we would definitely stay again.

Great location near Ston Town. Host is extremely reposnsive and willing to support with ideas and things to do. One of the best hosts on all Airbnb i had all over the world.

loved this Airbnb, great location. shops around the corner and a great restaurant called rafikis chickies (who also deliver) beach is a 7-10 minute walk. the pool is super small, but fine for a quick dip to cool down. would be nice if main bedroom had AC as it gets hot, but the fan worked fine. the house is open and there was mosquitoes after 5pm so unless there was wind you can really sit outside and find yourself retreating to the bedroom for an early night. all in all. great place. we would stay again 👌

Peku Peku is Paradise! You litterally live in the jungle, between beatiful trees and very Artistic gardens that Andrew made himself. The bar/restaurant/chilling area is the perfect antidote for our stressful life and attitude. Next year I will stay there at least one month. People are so kind there, and there are incredibly beautiful and secret spot that Andrew can suggest you. His nephew Iunus is a great chef who can teach you a lot of local plates, but most of all Iunus is a special, gentle and delicate person. Very rare to find people like them! A You will be child again feeding the bush babies directly from your hand!!
