Chateau Ange, a rental villa for up to 10 people in the great outdoors

はるなRating, 5 stars15 months ago
We were disappointed that we couldn’t use karaoke since there was no Instructions and even the staff didn't know how to use it. I was concerned about the hardness of the bed, but other than that I was very satisfied. The rock bath was comfortable and had enough space for a large group.

This apartment is a fantastic place. The location is incredible if you’re planning on skiing - hard to beat. The unit itself is modern, well cared for, and inviting. The hosts did a fantastic job as well. Above and beyond. Nozawa Onsen is a great little town and this is the perfect spot to base your stay.

attrait backpackers dormitory room

SamuelRating, 5 stars3 months ago
I very highly recommend staying at Hiro's. It is extremely comfortable and very clean. The beds were really comfy too. It is like a small hostel, with 2 rooms, making it a great place for a solo traveler (like me) as you meet other nice people, but several others staying were couples/small groups and they seemed very happy with it too. Thanks to its size, it's still quiet, comfortable and safe (which isn't often the case with hostels/dormitories). Hiro was extremely friendly and helpful, letting me drop off luggage and change before check-in so I could get a day's snowboarding in before checking in - similarly letting me do the same on my last day. Would love to stay again (and hopefully will)!
The exterior of the two-story house is illuminated by subtle exterior lights, highlighting the textured yellow brick facade. A snow-covered driveway leads to the entrance, and the peaceful atmosphere is enhanced by the darkness of night. Nearby vehicles are visible against the snowy ground.

Good'en Inn - Spacious entire home accommodation

JayeshRating, 5 stars41 months ago
Super helpful host & memorable stay. We were stuck in the snowfall on 31-Dec-2021. Jamie was a savior for us. He came to our rescue, assisted us in buying tire chains, fitting them and dropping us to the hotel. The next day, he helped us drive to and from from a nearby ski resort, drive us to our parking. He was ever ready for our help, for almost everything. Our kids accidentally locked one of the rooms, and he helped us unlock the room. Our stay from 31-Dec to 2-Jan, was a total mayhem with snowstorm. He was always helping his neighbors in various issues due to the snowstorm mayhem. We would highly recommend Jamie and his Inn !

Great house for a family stay in Kusatsu! Felt homey and relaxing. We cooked our meals because the kitchen was very functional. The place was very convenient. It’s walkable to the onsen’s. What a wonderful lodge to stay in to enjoy this stunning location. Our hosts couldn’t have looked after us better. Nothing was a problem. The food was delicious and the lodge was a warm and comfortable reprieve from the snow. We had an incredible powder snowboarding experience and some onsen time. Couldn’t recommend this lodge more!

We booked the property for our large group of family members with children. Masanori-san was very kindful to accommodate us and was at the property waiting for us, provided all the necessary instructions. The property is located in a very silent location and nearby attractions are 20 to 30mins drive. Up to 6 cars could easily park in the property, with a 200V EV charging facility. The kitchen is huge and we enjoyed cooking together.

Great lodge. Booked a tatami room, which was right above a whitewater river. Opened the window slightly and that background sound resulted in the best nights sleep I’ve had in a while. Nice lodge, has all you need. Kieren is a great host. Knows lots about the area Inc tips on the local onsen

Ski-in, ski-out 2-bedroom apartment in Nozawa

JordanRating, 5 stars14 months ago
A well-equipped, comfy (if a little tight) serviced apartment. Keep in mind, it’s at the top of the town, which means a relatively long walk up-hill to get to the apartment (and then up steep, narrow steps). But if you can cope with that (incl every time you want to go in for groceries/food/etc.), it’s an awesome place to stay! We stayed mid-April and had free access to the serviced apartments’ onsen (available down the hill). We were also right next to a ski hire shop and the gondola up to the slopes for daily skiing/snowboarding. Reception was always available via message, and were really friendly and helped us out whenever we needed. The town is a little dead in the off-peak season, but it’s still a quaint, lovely place to be/stay and spend some time in the mountains.

The ski resort is right in front of you, and there is also a drying room, which is convenient and comfortable, so it will be your second time using it.There was heavy snow this year, but the road to the building was also removed, so I was relieved. Lloyd, the host, was flexible with check-in, checkout, and shopping at the supermarket, which was helpful. The kids love it.

7Petit House FOR YOU

PeterRating, 5 stars4 months ago
Beautiful stay. Yusan and his partner are excellent hosts. Room was comfy. Had the shared onsen to myself every afternoon. 10 minute walk to Kanko gondola. 20 mins walk to Akakura restaurants. It’s a tight walk between walls of snow and road. Can be dodgy. Yusan was very helpful with lifts in the van. To the lifts in the morning and dinner in the evenings. Felt very looked after 😊

I liked it from the moment I entered the room. The ceiling is high and cozy.In this time of high prices, the heater was also turned on, and it was very satisfying to be warmed from a different core than the air conditioner. When I saw the river on Google Maps, I thought "eh", but it's actually a nice river, and next time I want to take a walk if the weather is nice. The owner was also very helpful and we had a comfortable stay.I look forward to staying here again.
