Mellomgaard is located in a quiet area of Sør-Kvaløya. The house is of high standard, with bedrooms located separately on each side of the house. Here, you'll find a harmonious atmosphere in a rural setting, free from noise, light pollution, and traffic, while still being close to nearby prepared ski slopes, Tromsø city center, and nearby natural attractions. We have our own shoreline with sand and hiking trails in the immediate vicinity. Mellomgaard is about a 25-minute drive from Tromsø Airport and 35 minutes from Tromsø city center. The house is located on a farm with two other separate living units, you are our only guests. It has the highest position on the property, offering fantastic views. In the summer, a boat for fishing or day trips can be rented upon request. The nature in Northern Norway is stunning, with countless hiking trails and peaks to explore. During the dark season, you can see the Northern Lights from our backyard without light pollution from the surroundings. The area offers excellent opportunities for fantastic nature experiences, with a chance to spot eagles, reindeer, moose, and other wildlife living in the Arctic climate—sometimes right outside the door. You can also book a dog sledding trip, just a 10–15 minute drive away from 3 different companies, or enjoy a horseback ride or carriage ride! On our farm, we have two horses of the Nordlandshest/Lyngshest breed. This is one of three fully Norwegian horse breeds listed as endangered on UNESCO’s World Heritage list. Our horses, Frost and Peer, are happy to welcome guests by appointment. In the area, you'll also find the popular Hella outdoor area, with old buildings, great fishing opportunities, and a café in the summer. Here, you can fish from the rocks, watch boat traffic up close, grill, or visit ancient rock carvings nearby. We’re happy to recommend great hiking destinations and experiences in the area! We can assist with directions and have created a guide that we’d love to share with you before your arrival, so you can easily navigate to activities and experiences that will make your vacation perfect!

Cabin in Malangen

I wanted to inform you of a couple of things before the reservation: 1. This is our family cabin, and will have some personal belongings around. 2. It’s expected that the cabin will be tidy and proper after your stay and that bed linens are taken off the beds. 3. It’s a private well - so the water from the tap is not tasty for drinking (it has a slight colour and smell - a bit like Icelandic water), but it’s not dangerous to drink. Therefore, 40 liter of water will be placed for drinking at the cabin. If you want more, then please let us know. 4. I will provide you with 3 bags of firewood. If you would like more, please reach out. 5. I will pay to remove the snow of the drive way on your arrival day. If it snows a lot and you want it removed again you have to cover the cost of the snow plow (from 600NOK). But there are also a lot of spades and shovels to do it yourself there. 6. This is a rural cabin in the Arctic, there can be a lot of snow, we will not be able to clear the snow away from the sauna, fire pit and outside area at all times

Modern annex with fantastic sea views

Annex/detached private home with good standard in rural surroundings, proximity to sea, mountains and nature. The residence is located about 30 minutes from Tromsø Airport, in the direction of Sommarøy. Car is recommended! The home is in scenic surroundings, so that nature experiences such as the northern lights, mountain trips or just a quiet evening around the campfire on the terrace can be enjoyed. The home contains all kitchen utensils for cooking. Private bathroom with washing machine, shower and toilet. Living room with sofa, dining table and TV with Chrome cast. Welcome.

A farm

Large house on the scenic Malang peninsula, 35 minutes from Tromsø airport by car. Perfect for large groups. Lovely view of the fjord and mountains. Good starting point for hiking, snowshoeing and skiing/snowboarding. Lots of space around the house to enjoy nature and play in the snow. Only 50 meters down to the sea inviting for ice bathing after sauna or nice walks in the shore. Perfect space to see the Northern Lights in the winter. Free parking and Wifi. Sauna is included. Cozy cabin on a farm with parking

Experience the midnight sun in the summer and northern light in the winter from our cabin. Located by the sea, with all facilities and parkingplace. 60m2, spread over two floors. Two bedrooms with five sleepingplaces in total. We can also provide with a extra bed for a baby. A perfect spot to discover Tromso and it's surroundings due to the close location to the city and at the same time as it is located with nature close by. In the summertimes we can rent out bikes and a boat with a driver.

There are no streetlights, so the only source of light in the backcountry during wintertime is the moon and the aurora borealis.

Authentic and Romantic Lodge close to nature

Authentic and romantic lodge originally built of timber and used for the first time back in 1850 as housing for as many as 10 persons. Situated between the sea and the forest and with the northern light as only light in the dark season this might be the perfect place to enjoy North of Norway. The perfect match for a couple, but will also function very well for up to four persons. It is renovated to a modern standard in 2018, with focus on maintaining the heart and soul of the old building.

Bergmo Arctic Heaven - The Bua

Bergmo offers fantastic, quiet and light pollution free nature just 30 km from the Tromsø airport. The 1100 hectare homestead has the Rystraumen national marine preserve on its beaches, forests and mighty mountains as boundaries. The place is quaint, cozy and sleeps three people in two bedrooms. It has a small entry with kitchenette, and bathroom. In addition, the rental includes use of a second heated building on the beach and use of the full kitchen, tables and bbq in the large shop.

Amazing cabin 25 minutes from Tromsø Airport

The cabin is situated on the roof of the tunnel to Malangen and just by the seaside. The living room has great windows that give you a feeling of being outside when are sitting warm and comfortably inside. Perfect for spotting for the northern lights. The cabin has three large bedrooms, a nice bathroom, and a well equipped kitchen. Everything is ready for you to have a great stay just outside amazing Tromsø. The cabin is completely renovated (2022). Welcome!
