Amazing remote location camping in the mountains with fantastic views. If you like nature and simple living you should stay here! The tent accomodation is really cosy and you may even share your bathroom with a few small frogs! The outdoor shower has a great view. Amila and team looked after us really well, Amila is very friendly and kind, a great guy to talk to. The food the chef made was amazing ( even if there was so much we couldn't eat it all!), especially as we were so far in the mountains and everything has to be brought in. Shermal organised us a guide to trek up Knuckles Peak 1 and 2 with wonderful views from the top. The guide was excellent with a huge knowledge of plants, animals and birds. It can be cold and wet so we needed warm clothes and rain gear one day, but the fire in the dining area is lovely in the evening to keep warm by. We loved our stay here although it is hard to find..luckily our driver communicated on the phone with Amila to get directions along the way.

Amazing place to stay, the view was exceptional. Getting to the room was a bit challenging but great cardio, anyone up for an adventure can definitely try this place. It was super close to the downtown area, got good food and good recommendations

Depending on the type of person you are, you could either love this spot or not. We LOVED it as it had INCREDIBLY helpful staff who communicated well and couldn't do more to help fulfill any of our requests. The breakfast was delicious and an abundance of food provided in one meal. It is very safe and easy to go on walks around the area. It is private and located in the middle of tea fields. If you want hustle and bustle of a town, then this is quite far out of that. If you want modern and new, then this is not for you. But if you want peace, calm and lovely surroundings with cooler weather, then absolutely. We loved our stay and were very comfortable. The host organized our transfer from the station to the accommodation, and he was outstanding - a tour guide as well as the driver - he told us many stories of the area - so knowledgeable!! There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance - we went to Frostbite for dinner - and quirky place with really good food!!

We had such a great time at this place with my family. Our kids could play outside and we adults had a chance to relax. The whole host family were just lovely. Food was good, we got something for everyone (not an easy task). They helped us with everything we needed and were really flexible.

This place was so beautiful! So many well kept plants and the pool area was so nice. The gentleman working there and the lady that cooked were so kind and sweet and always smiling and wanting to help. Food was delicious. very kind people, even offered us our room to rest in after a safari after our check out time, so nice! Would definitely recommend this place and would stay again and again and again!

Wir hatten eine Nacht in der Unterkunft gebucht und die Begrüßung war super lieb und freundlich. Wir wurden mit einem leckeren Bananen Smoothie empfangen. Man muss jedoch genau auf seiner Karten App schauen. Es kann passieren das man über Googl-Maps hinter das Haus geleitet wird. Jedoch muss man am besten einfach auf der Hauptstraße bleiben und dann findet man es schnell.

Part of the Grand Udawalawae Safari Resort and very nice place it is surrounded by mature forest. Quiet and away from the main road. Restaurant and bar on site. Swimming pool was nice. Great staff.

Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Zeit hier. Die Gastgeber sind unglaublich freundlich und hilfsbereit! Die gesamte Familie gab uns das Gefühl, zu Hause zu sein. Sie haben super schnell reagiert und wir haben sehr lecker gegessen. Sie haben sich sehr viel Mühe gegeben und wir wurden sogar zu unserer nächsten Unterkunft in Arugam Bay gefahren, da das ursprüngliche Taxi abgesagt hatte. Ich kann jedem empfehlen dort hinzugehen. Wir hoffen, wir können wiederkommen.

Our stay at Lakmal's place in Udawalawe was wonderful. The place is strategically located very near Udawalawe National Park. The breakfast that was prepared by Sajiwa and his wife, Karuma (I hope I get her name right) was excellent! Wonderful and yummy Sri Lankan cuisine. Sajiwa and Karuma were also very helpful and supportive to our needs. They were very attentive but still giving us enough privacy and independence. The room was sparkling clean and tastefully designed, with unique safari touch to the decor. We really recommend Lakmal's place for anyone visiting Udawalawe. Stuti Sajiwa and Karuma! Stuti Lakmal!

This the location you will be able see vast distance due to its elevation , the place is locate middle of the Tea land and open to view towards the down south of Sri lanka, It was raining when we were there , View get disturbed some times, However we enjoy the hospitality .

This place is paradise! We stayed in a Forest Pavilion for three nights and loved every moment. The surrounding forest on the property was idillic and the private waterfall felt like a dream! All the Living Heritage staff were extremely lovely and accommodating. The food was absolutely delicious and we loved getting to know Sujeewa (chef) during our cooking class. We’d definitely recommend spending a few nights here if you’re looking to relax, unplug and be surrounded by beautiful nature.

This place is one of my favourites places on Airbnb. It has a breathtaking view to every room in the resort . Our room was tidy and very spacious which made our stay more comfortable. Staff is very responsive and helpful . Specially, Mr. Kushan is very friendly and keeping our stay smooth and pleasant. I highly recommend this place to who is looking for a calm and relaxed place with a nice view to spent their holiday.

We’ve just left the treehouse chalet with the happiest of memories. The food was delicious (they fed our coeliac daughter incredibly well), the treehouse was gorgeous with views that are out of this world. The service and care was incredible. Aruns knowledge and passion for nature is amazing - he oozes love for what he is doing and passed it on to all of us. We swam in waterfalls, walked to the local village, saw the stars …. We were there for 4 nights - it went far too quickly. I highly recommend anyone who is interested in nature, calm surroundings to add this to their itinerary. You won’t regret it!

Great location if you just want to do the safari and chill by their pool as There isn’t much else around. The pool has a lovely view of the lake and the rooms are really big and spacious. The staff were accommodating and pleasant, and helped us organise an incredible safari. We’d recommend

Accueil chaleureux dans un établissement conforme aux photos, avec une décoration sobre et élégante. De plus leur cuisine est savoureuse. Nous recommandons cet établissement les yeux fermés. Le seul bémol: un peu bruyant à cause d’une mauvaise insonorisation.

Während meines Aufenthalts im kolonialen Morris-Bungalow wurde ich in eine Welt voller Charme und Geschichte entführt. Dieser atemberaubende Rückzugsort, geschickt versteckt in der üppigen Landschaft von Passara, ist eine echte Perle. Vom ersten Moment an, als ich die einladenden, geschichtsträchtigen Mauern betrat, war ich von der Schönheit und Ruhe überwältigt. Die antiken Möbel und der glänzende Kamin im Wohnbereich schufen eine Atmosphäre, die sowohl luxuriös als auch behaglich ist. Große Fenster boten eine ununterbrochene Sicht auf die malerische Natur, was jeden Morgen zu einem erfrischenden Erlebnis machte.Die Gastfreundschaft von Liyanage Nilusha Dilshan war beispiellos. Jede Anfrage wurde mit größter Sorgfalt und Aufmerksamkeit behandelt, was meinen Aufenthalt besonders angenehm machte. Die kostenlose Parkmöglichkeit direkt vor Ort war ein weiterer Pluspunkt, der die Logistik meines Aufenthalts erleichterte. Absolut empfehlenswert!

The hotel is fabulous. The bedding very clean and comfortable. The room was clean with space ,shower and plenty of wash products. The views were great and location very good for attractions. Food was delicious,plentiful and cheap. The best thing about the hotel was the staff ,particularly Richard and his next in charge (sorry name forgotten ). I couldn't credit more highly. They were wonderful,helpful and friendly. Taking the initiative where necessary too. Lovely to talk to and watch cricket with. Do not hesitate to book. Big Thanks Julie and Matt

An amazingly beautiful place with friendly and service minded staff. We very much enjoyed our time here and can recommend it to anyone looking for a good place to stay in the area. Food was amazing, rooms were clean and beautiful, the garden breathtakingly beautiful and staff very service minded.

Our stay in Ella was absolutely amazing! Nestled in the mountains, the location offered breathtaking views and a peaceful atmosphere. One of the highlights was the natural pool, which required a 15-minute trek but it was well worth the effort for a refreshing dip in such a serene setting. The food was delicious, and the rooms had stunning views, making our experience even more enjoyable. A special shoutout to Janakie, who was super friendly and made us feel right at home. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxing and scenic stay in Ella!
